Came here on a Sunday for brunch and was surprised to see it wasnt packed. 25 – 30 min wait which wasnt bad at all. Seated, ordered, and enjoyed our brunch. The duck plate(do not remember the name) is a MUST!!! It was duck meat served with potatoes and sunny side eggs ontop. So so so flavorful!!! We also had the infamous pancakes, super big and fluffy(also takes longer to come out). It was crispy on the outside and soft/buttery on the inside. Wish they had more fruits and they served it with pink butter!?! Overall great spot for brunch. We jus felt alil uncomfortable when one of the bus boys came 2−3x to ask if we were done yet. We looked around and did not see any one else waitin for a table. So we just felt kind of rushed.

The first time I saw a photo of the Shrimp Cocktail Bloody Mary, and those enormous pancakes, I knew I had to go! My kind of place. I came recently for brunch and really enjoyed my experience here. The décor is warm and sort of rustic. We sat at the bar, but the back seating area almost had a cabin-like vibe to it, only more well lit. The bartender was friendly and helpful in terms of making decisions, which is always difficult for me… in this case, the french toast or those glorious looking pancakes. I had read good things about both. I ended up with the french toast since we were only a party of two, but I couldn’t have been happier with my choice. The FT is solid here, and definitely one of the better versions I have had in a while. Theirs is unique because it’s almost crispy on the outside, and not overwhelmingly sweet or heavy on the cinnamon. I would liken the flavor to crème brûlée. Super tasty. I have heard the pancakes are better to order when you are with a larger group so you can share it, since it’s a lot to handle and takes a long time to bake. That will be on my list for next time. My brunch buddy had the duck hash and that was really tasty as well. I can’t forget a couple words about the Shrimp Cocktail Bloody Mary. It’s a genius idea and was so delicious. Nice and spicy, just how I like it. Definitely get one if you’re there.

My wife gave me an A+ for finding this amazing place to have our Sunday brunch. I am not a fan of pancake in general, so I was somewhat hesitant to order the oven-baked pancake that many people praised about. I was really glad that I ordered it. Unlike regular pancake, the oven-baked pancake has a crunchy rust that adds variety to the texture along with the fruits and butter. I am a total convert for this pancake now. The portion was pretty large and good for sharing. The duck confit hash was also beyond our expectation except that my wife found it a bit too greasy and salty, so she didn’t finish it. I gladly devoured the rest and found it very satisfying. This is the perfect place for weekend brunch. We enjoyed the cozy ambience and were showered with friendly service by the staff. We will certainly return soon.

Took my man last week because every time I rollerblades past on the weekends there was a line out the door. Ordered their garden salad, escargot, and Brussel sprouts and was very impressed. They told me they had $ 1 oysters during happy hour so knew I had to bring my friend and come back for the Brussel sprouts!(Normally eat in Manhattan and my normal favorite were Ililly or barbounia but these ones blew me away). Highly suggest it. Great friendly staff and good food. The fact that the place is adorable is a bonus.

This was my first time at this spot but it was so sweet and rustic. I ordered the pancakes, which were absolutely delicious and super filling! Should definitely be chosen if going to be shared. They tell you upon ordering that it will take about 45 minutes for the pancakes; well worth the wait! The wait staff we very nice and the prices were very reasonable. The mimosas were perfect and went nicely with the pancakes, which had berries and strawberry ice cream on top.

My boyfriend and I had a late dinner here the either night. We both enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. As a pesceterian I ordered the beat salad with a side of fries. The Cumin greek yogurt that came with the beets was sooo yummy. I could have eaten it by itself. I also ordered some oysters that were very fresh and very good! My boyfriend ordered the burger with a side of fries, which he said was very good and filling. Side note– the fries were good but very salty… I know… weird because usually fries are under salted. For dessert we ordered the crème brûlée(my favorite dessert!). The custard was great but the sugar on top was unfortunately over fired and burnt. That didnt stop me from enjoying the custard though. Will definitely be back again!

Great place for brunch. Very cozy and casual for your weekly brunch without going to Manhattan. The eggs Benedict was great & really flavorful. The ham were cooked well enough that you don’t have to use the strength of lumberjack to cut through & eggs poached just right. The service was okay, the server would bring us our food and then our waitress would come 3 minutes later asking how our food was when we had barely started but she was still nice. Disclaimer: if you are tall be prepared to be a little cramp at the tables in the front.

I forgot why I ever bookmarked this place once upon a time but whatever reason that was, you did good, young Sharon. I came here with my cousins for Saturday brunch. There was a long queue and we waited for about 30 minutes for a table for four. One of my cousins didn’t come yet, so the hostess asked us to not order until he came… but our waiter took our order anyway. Nice selection of French-inspired plates. I got the Croque Madame(croque-monsieur) with fries and the sandwich was super rich. Imagine this: a big-ass ham and cheese sandwich with two gigantic, cheese and egg yolk-soaked Brioche bread slices, with the yolk leaking and running through your fingers and dripping, that weighs close to a pound. It was so decadent, the word«overwhelming» does not even begin to describe this, especially if you can’t work up an appetite. It’s pretty much a fancy ham & cheese sandwich, except it’s Frenched. My only complaint was that the bread was so burnt, the bitterness bothered me. The fries were a little soggy, so you can substitute that for salad instead. I also had a regular House Made Bloody Mary(psst…for $ 6 extra, you only get 2 pieces of shrimp for the Shrimp Cocktail Bloody Mary) and my mouth was on FIRE. There was too much Tabasco sauce in my drink, but other than the spiciness, the mix was strong and tasty; it was like another meal itself. We were satisfied with our meals and our waiter was fantastic. Super cute restaurant with an obvious Williamsburg vibe. Not overly expensive for a good-valued decent brunch spot with generous portions, so I can see why this place is so popular.

I’d like to title this review as, «What Was Once Good» As is the way of NYC, with favorite places closing down all the time I’m sad to report there is also the NY phenomena where a once beloved wonderful eatery goes to the dogs. I feel confident writing my opinion and experiences, bc I’ve been frequenting this place for the last 4 years. I’ve even seen my favorite waitress become a manager, and then leave for fresher waters.(Come back!!) If you’ve never been here, by all means go! The French toast is usually to die for as is the duck confit. The Eggs Benedict used to be good, but the last few times they came out bone cold. Love the fries! Not a fan of home fries, but the fries, yes! What may happen, your food may come out cold and not crisped or cooked properly,(Especially the French Toast) and they may continue to try to take your plate away when you’re not done. What used to make the 40 min commute here worth it was the FANTASTIC service! It used to be the place I’d bring all my out of town guests. NOMORE. With the horrible service and cold Eggs Benny we received today, it’s been decided. Today is our last Le Barricou meal! The service and the food quality has been slowly slipping over the past few years. The food is good, when it’s done right. We are now on the look-out for a new brunch go-to, recommendations gladly welcomed! PS. When the manager heard about how badly things went, she was very kind and asked if there was anything she could do. We were done eating and a bit over it, so…

**This Review is for BRUNCH Only** I mention that, because it seems like the majority of the negative reviews are for Dinner, especially with respect to the Service at Dinner. I personally thought Brunch was Fabulous and worthy of 5-stars, especially because of these things: 1. Oven Pancakes– holy crap, AMAZING 2. Duck Confit Hash– decadent, and DELICIOUS 3. Merguez Sausage– I’m not big on lamb, but WOW 4. Ambiance– very much French Bistro and cozy 5. Authenticity– even the Service is Slow like in Paris lol So, I know many people complain about the Service, especially during dinner. And yes, during brunch, our service wasn’t necessarily the best, but wan’t terrible either. And I know we’re not in Paris, but part of going to a bistro is not to rush through your brunch or dinner, but to actually spend time having drinks, visiting/chatting with your company, enjoying life, etc. And so I guess you could say Le Barricou has brought that French«Charm» with it, to the dismay of us Americans who are used to a more prompt service. I’m ok with it, as our brunch went 2 ½ hours over several glasses of wine & champagne, but we were in no rush to get out of there quickly. We had a great time actually, not being constantly bothered by the waiter. Secondly, I saw reviews of people complaining about the pancakes being too thick. Yeah, they’re thick, and more along the style of a «Dutch/German/Swedish» OVEN Pancake. That’s why they take 30 – 40 minutes to make — because they’re baked in an oven as opposed to made in a pan, like our American pancakes. Nonetheless, I thought they were EXCELLENT and DECADENT. Full of butter, soft & fluffy and the strawberry butter was nice as well. The Duck Confit Hash was also a Standout and one of the better ones I’ve had! Eggs were perfectly cooked, Merguez sausage was tasty and the French Fries were thin & crsipy. All Great. And the Wine List by the Bottle is Exceptionally Good! Wines from lesser known French regions like Jura & Loire, and prices as low as $ 35 for some bottles with the average around $ 50 or so. Super cheap for good quality French wines in NYC! The wait was about 20 minutes around 11:30 am, but by the time we left, the wait was over an hour, so get here early! And, the cost was reasonable — we had 3 courses and 4 glasses of wine/champagne and the bill with tax & tip was $ 104. Without alcohol, the total would’ve been around $ 58, so if you don’t feel like spending a lot, you don’t have to. Entrees are around $ 13 – 15 and wine is around $ 10 – 12 per glass. So, not bad actually. Lastly, it’s only 4 blocks from the Lorimer Subway Stop, which is only two stops on the L-train from Manhattan, so it’s super convenient. Overall, I Really, Really enjoyed Le Barricou and will definitely come back for Brunch at some point. Highly Recommend this place!

this spot is always a stand out. while most places in east williamsburg are crawling with hipster roaches La Barricou is the opposite with beautiful, summery French farm décor fresh flowers galore the staff is warm and very unpretentious the food and the drinks are stellar, well executed and thoughtful both brunch and dinner this place is perfect for when you want to feel bougie but ya know you’re still in brooklyn The pancakes are crazy crazy fucking delicious and huge, like big sexy fried pillows of diabetes Iisten to the waiter when he tells you one order of pancakes is enough tho or else you’ll be leaving in a sugar coma the duck confit makes you wanna slap your French maid and the cocktail shrimp bloody mary is a great idea if you drink like you want the gout(like me) the #lpfedme reco: cocktail shrimp blood mary + extra shot of vodka pancakes duck confit side of eggs and bacon

This is my FAVORITE brunch spot in Brooklyn(maybe even in NY). Service is great, food is greater and its not too loud! There’s always a wait when I go but the wait is pretty short. I make it my duty to go here for every single occasion… and i do mean every occasion. New job, let’s celebrate– Le Barricou! graduation, woohoo!-Le Barricou! my credit score went up, YASSS!!-Le Barricou! You pretty much get the picture, lol. Tip: do not put your name down and wander off! Even though they say 40 mins, wait time is sometimes really 20 minutes because patrons tend to wander off and miss their slot!

Came here last night with my partner for dinner. The food was delicious. We had oysters on the half shell, escargot, the steak for 2 and a Crème brûlée. I have never had escargot before but I felt that the sauce it was in was too oily and would have benefited from a bit of acid. They were also a bit bitter– I don’t know if that was the snail itself or an herb they used. It does come with thick slices of crispy bread to dip in the sauce which was good. The rib eye steak for 2 was well seasoned with a nice seared crust on it. The peppercorn sauce was aromatic and rich without being spicy. It was cooked perfectly to the temperature requested and was very lean for a rib eye. It came with 3 small potatoes and a very tiny arugula salad. Althought it was a big steak I think it should be either a bit less expensive or had side dishes that were bigger. The steak is at market price — $ 65. Our server got us really excited for the salted caramel apple tart but didn’t realize they had sold out(I work as a server too and I know how often this happens so I wasn’t mad) so we got a Crème brûlée instead. It was very creamy and light with a good burnt sugar crust. We ate it before we could take a picture. The rest of the menu is very reasonable priced with main dishes ranging from $ 15-$ 25. I will be back to try the other things on their menu including their homemade pasta de jour. BTW it’s super cute inside with rustic touches and a fire place but it was hot! Getrinf sweaty on a date isnt fun. Unless they have AC it must be brutal in there in the summer.

I came here for brunch with a friend on one of the most hungover days of my entire life. We sat at the bar to avoid a long wait time for tables. Bartender was friendly, attentive, adorable and overall just really nice to me as I was dying inside his establishment. We ended up taking our food to go because I couldn’t hang(embarrassing haha). I’m a savory breakfast person so I ordered the goat cheese croissant and would recommend it to anyone. A couple sitting next to us at the bar got the pancakes and I was having order envy… Next time I come, I’ll have to convince someone to split them with me.

The pancakes are fluffy, delicious and amazing! The strawberry butter actually taste better than expected. This is definitely worth a try. However, be prepared to wait 30 – 45 minutes for it. The pancakes are huge and can be shared with others. The duck confit hash tasted yummy and was better than it looked.

I came back on a Sunday! Although the restaurant was very crowded since it was a three day weekend, a table for 2 only took about 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad. However, I think their food really suffered since it was so busy. I shared both of the dishes with my friend. Norwegian Benedicts($ 14): This was actually my first time having salmon in my benedicts. I didn’t particularly enjoy this dish. The poached egg wasn’t runny enough. Secondly, the salmon was way too fishy. I love salmon(raw & cooked), but I really didn’t enjoy how fishy it was. Pancakes($ 10): ~40 minute wait!!! I forgot how dense and filling these pancakes are. I’d only recommend ordering this if you’re a party of 3+ unless you’re planning on packing this to go. It’s waayyy too much & I felt bad for leaving so much behind. The pancakes were still good. But, you could tell how the cooks struggled to take them out bc parts of the pancake kind of broke off. The service is really good. They gave us extra plates and even gave us new plates when we got the pancakes. But, I would have really appreciated it if the waitress would have told me that butter was extra. I asked the waitress for extra butter since they only put it on the top pancake & not the bottom. But we didn’t know about the extra charge($ 1.50) until we got our check.

I think I had some unrealistic expectations for this spot just because of how much a few friends of mine rave about it – don’t get me wrong, it was okay but not great. The restaurant itself is super cute ! They have adorable tiny flower vases, candles and rustic décor. The simple decorative touches really give it a lovely feel. The escargot appetizer was okay. The snails were a little over cooked, tough and chewy. The bread they serve with it was delicious — toasted and a slight hit of herbs made it great to soak up the extra sauce on the plate. For about $ 10, they serve a generous amount, nice to share. Eggs Norwegian served with smoked salmon was on the extra fishy side. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but the fish killed it for me. Served with light greens and fries were a nice touch. Overall, I won’t go out of my way to come back.

It was a pleasant evening at Le Barricou. We came here on Wednesday night and the restaurant was completely empty until approximately 8PM. Once it hit 8, the restaurant was packed. Ambiance was intimate with dim candles along with endless playlist of baby-making music. Roasted Bone Marrow $ 16 — Lots of fatty, buttery meat that melts in your mouth! The texture was very smooth and went well with the toast. I’d recommend this. It’s good to share between two. Escargots $ 9 — VERY generous amount of escargot. Each slot had 2 – 3 pieces. It was buttery and delicious. The seasoning was a tad salty but the toast made it manageable. Cote de Boeuf(24oz bone-in dry aged rib eye for two) $ 60 — 24oz may sound intimidating, but the bone takes up a good chunk of weight. The rib eye came sliced, tender, and cooked perfectly. The aroma was very appetizing and the taste was fantastic. Neither of us enjoyed the brandy peppercorn sauce. It was too overpowering and had a strong taste of brandy. The steak was better off alone. Brussels Sprouts $ 7 — Looks were really deceiving on this one. What looked like a messy plate of burnt veggies turned out to be flavorful roasted Brussels sprouts. The onions and herbs brought out savory flavor and aroma. Crème Brulee $ 6 — It was soft, creamy and rich in flavor. The hard caramel stuck to my teeth but that didn’t matter because it was so good. I’ve had brunch here before and it was exceptional. I’ll definitely be back for brunch/dinner!

PROS: :Duck Confit Hash — I really like this but duck meat was shredded and just a tad dry. The salad it came with was a little oily but still good. There was more potatoes than duck meat. :Croque Madame — was delicious. Bread is a little on the thick side but it was good. :French Toast — OMG! This was amazing you have to get this! It’s even better than the pancakes. The french toast was crispy and add some maple syrup — you’re good to go. : Fries were thin and pretty good. THEOKAY: :Green Beast(cocktail) — it was sweet and the lime/cucumber flavor really stood out. :Chatelaine(cocktail) — gin, elderflower liqueur, white wine & pomegranate juice. I was hoping this was sweeter as I really liked the ingredients but the cocktail was alright. It has a slight bitter aftertaste. :Mimosa(cocktail) — mostly orange juice :Pancakes with strawberry butter and fruit. I thought the pancakes were way too moist. These pancakes were different because there were so thick and dense. Portions were huge. I’d recommend you skip the pancakes and get the french toast. CONS: :Spinach & Goat Cheese Croissant — I wouldn’t get this if you don’t like goat cheese. :Merguez — spiced lamb sausage. Don’t get this if you don’t like lamb. This is lamb with an extra twist. :Bloody Mary — I felt like I was drinking cocktail sauce and it has a slight spicy kick to it. I wouldn’t recommend getting this. NOTE: : be prepared to wait approximately 45 — 55 minutes on a Saturday if you have 5 people.

INCREDIBLE brunch. Definitely worth the trip from Manhattan. This place has AMAZING food, great value, and a charismatic ambience. I shared the duck hash confit — which you cannot miss — and the goat cheese croissant with my friend. Each dish came with two delicious fried eggs and we couldn’t even finish everything… though that could be due to the fact that we also shared a side of pommes frites. Who can resist, though?! Her croissant was incredible and stuffed with fresh cheese and spinach. To die for. My dining partner enjoyed her mimosa, and again, the prices were more reasonable than those in, say, the West Village. Barely a 10 minute wait on a Sunday morning. I can’t wait to return!

Conclusion: on veut y retourner! Viiiiite!
