Yes, the service sucked, but the food was amazing and authentic. I wish they’d reopen. Tried newcomer The Fox & the Crepes in Windsor Terrace and it paled in comparison(to the point that I question whether anyone who works there has eaten a crêpe before). Please come back! I’ll continue to wait 45 minutes for my food!

Unique place. Low key, but great solution for someone who live or work(like I do) near the Brooklyn college. Great crepes, and nice people working here. I tried many of their dishes, and all were good. There maybe one more place in this style in the area, but since their crepes is something worth a visit, I prefer it over other places.

I want this place to be good because there’s nothing else around. But it’s not. Even before the board of health shut them down, it was hard to go because they close randomly when their posted hours said they should be open. If you do make it in, the service is super slow, they bring food out one plate at a time, they screw up the orders consistently. And there’s that whole thing where it keeps getting shut down by the health department and the owner publicly protests that health regulations are stupid. Sorry, I prefer my crepes sans mice. And why is there a thrift store in the back? Perhaps exclusively so they can stay open when the board of health says they should be closed. I’m excited for this place to finally shut down for real so we can get an actual café.

Just so good. Will be going back! Crêpe Provencal and Country breakfast were excellent. Service was just so warm and gracious. Felt like I was visiting family. Plus, the food was really good. Will be going back.

I love this place and it’s such a treat to stop in for breakfast. The food is very good and the menu has a lot of options. The portions are so big that I find it hard to finish. The owner and his wife are very charming. Cash only.

After reading all the nice reviews about this place, we decided to go there for brunch. We ordered eggs Benedict, that we were waiting for 20 mins and came out overcooked. Than another 20 mins for a crêpe. And it had hair in it! The place itself was very cold. Had my jacket on all the time. Even tea didn’t help. The waitress was very nice though. Not coming back for sure.

Oh my god! Seriously, I love this place. I’m not a crêpe guy, but I think this place rocks! My girlfriend and I go here once in a while to treat ourselves to something delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, with a touch of romance. Great for couples, families, and friends. I usually get the Crêpe Champignons. The mushrooms and sausage within are rich, savory, and meaty. I also enjoy the Belgium Waffle which is excellent. The staff are friendly and on top of things. We usually find this place busy, but we’ve never had to wait for a table. There’s a boutique in the back which is a plus for the ladies. I think we need more places like this in Ditmas Park. It’s unique, well run, and has delicious food.

This place is interesting– crepes in the front, shopping in the back; the restaurant equivalent of a mullet. Service was very homey and pleasant and the food was okay. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with crepes so I suggest you go read another review if you want a totally unbiased piece. I got the curry chicken crêpe(crêpe caribe) which was huge and a good deal for $ 10. E had the crêpe saumon(salmon) which had some canapes, dill, and other veggies. He liked it but he eyed my dish hungrily as I was probably given 2 orders of the chicken. It was filling and delicious and totally the reason why I couldn’t order any of the sweet crepes. BYOB(w/$ 5 corkage fee) plus you get to do some thrift shopping while you wait for your food. If anybody wants to get me a gift for the holidays, the boutique has the exact pair of Ferragamo high boots that I want ;)

This eatery is right around the corner from my home. Over the years I have watched different businesses move in and out of the spot but I was thrilled when I saw that it was going to be a restaurant. Couple of things the hours are sporadic and the place never gets packed… Sad to say I believe long lines tell a story that Unilocal can’t. In any event the evening that my husband and I tried this place we walked into an empty place. We chose one crêpe which had some Jamaican chicken and another with fruit so we could try out a range. While the credo was fine the portions are small to such an extent that I can only go to this place for dessert. It is pretty pricey too making it not one of the first places I would run too.

This place is just wonderful! Authentic delicious French crepes served in the friendly warm atmosphere of a cute old fashion little French café. I really enjoyed it :)

I was looking for a place to get authentic crepes and saw La Crêpe Et La Vie had good reviews. The restaurant was quaint and warm with Tribe Called Quest beats playing and a sweet smell in the air, I knew I was in for a treat. I sat at the counter and was greeted by the owner, who charmed me with his smooth French accent. I was skeptical about trying the orange crepes with cognac. I generally stick to Nutella with bananas, but I was feeling adventurous. I watched as the owner lovingly prepared my order. Then drizzled cognac over it as my eyes grew larger. The crepes had a beautiful orange sauce that I eventually polished off with a spoon. The orange flavor was bold but not overpowering. The crêpe had a great chewy light texture. I scooped chunks of orange, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream into my mouth. The experience was orgasmic!

Super nice people… great crepes… sweet or savory, they are all fresh and good. Kind enough to throw something together after official closing time. Great place to hang out or grab a quick bite coming off the train.

The relaxed, neighborly ambiance of this little creperie is homey & sorta quaint. I was pretty psyched that the Chef/owner? was willing to make me a custom crêpe of all the fruit types they have + Nutella for me :) which was good but I was sad that the Espresso machine was«broken» & no bottled water is available here. They didn’t charge extra for the extra fruit nor for the substitution of a full french press instead of a cappuccino, which was a great save. It is cash only, though. The service was«homestyle» as in it’s like you’re eating at someone’s house… very personal, sweet, sociable… intimate even, but too slow & a bit inattentive about the food/coffee for me… the server didn’t know how to multitask or prioritize tasks. All in all, this place is a nice, relaxed addition to the neighborhood nonetheless… just many sure you have time & patience when you come enjoy a crêpe.

Super friendly, welcoming staff with yummy crepes and homemade berry lemonade! I always order the Crêpe Fromage which is delicious and great when adding a little tomato and onion extra. Whilst waiting for your crêpe you’re often engaging in great conversation with the owner, or you can also pop into the in-house store that sells vintage clothing and other cool finds.

Extremely good crepes for all pallets; & now with their improved menu they have many other foods to choose from if crepes aren’t what you were craving. Also the drinks; hot or cold are all delicious, esp their Hot Chocolate. I love the atmosphere here because it doesn’t try to be an extremely fancy creperie like some others, so you can be relaxed when you’re there. i remember once I got kicked of a creperie with my girlfriend because we only wanted sweet crepes, but here you can take up a whole table with a cup of coffee. it’s a place that couldn’t really be found anywhere else to my knowledge except Arbuz and if I lived in the middle of both of these I would defiantly go to La Crêpe Et La Vie :)

The ambiance is great. It’s very low key and it has the cutest décor. It’s also walking distance from Brooklyn College, so it’s nice going there before class or during a long break when you have CASH. On the plus side, you’ll never have to wait for a table here. The service is ok. The crepes are very good and light, but their coffee could use some improvement. p. s.: FYI it’s BYOB, if you are a fan of day drinking.
