Pretty solid food, quick service, and wallet friendly. I’ve been twice, once for breakfast and the other for lunch. I tend to eat healthier, and while I don’t expect diners to have much for me to choose from, L&D gave me a few more options. For breakfast, I had an omelette with feta, onion and tomato, which came with home fries and toast and tea. Both the omelette and home fries were really good. You could see a guy cutting up the potatoes, which is a huge plus for me because I know its fresh and not loaded with preservatives like frozen food is. For lunch, I had a grilled chicken wrap with tomato and lettuce. Super filling without weighing you down. My boyfriend has previously had the french toast with turkey bacon(A++), pancakes and the burger and fries. I tried a couple of his fries, which left a lot to be desired. They were really thin steak fries, but super greasy and soft/floppy. They could have cooked a little longer and been much better. But, overall, great tasting food. Its nice to have a place like this in the neighborhood.

I need to preface this review by saying I came to this place on a Monday morning so I didn’t expect it to be busy, and it wasn’t. I can’t speak to how they handle a rush. I chose this place because it’s very close to my house and I’m always looking for good places for breakfast near me. Because it was mostly empty, the service of course was excellent. The front counter person was incredibly sweet and attentive. I ordered a green tea, apple juice, and challah french toast(labeled just«french toast» as opposed to the old fashioned french toast which is thin bread). The apple juice came with ice, which I thought was weird, but I just took it out so that was no problem. The french toast was fantastic and what I expect from any diner. They don’t make theirs with cinnamon, like I do, yet it still tasted fantastic. The french toast order is two slices cut in half. I didn’t think it would fill me up but once I took that last bite, I was done. The prices seem very fair too, or at least comparable to more popular neighborhoods I’ve been to recently. This is definitely a place I’d go to again, with my girlfriend or a group of friends.

The food there is as good as the staff that work there. The ambiance of the place is deliciously charming. If you stop by you definitely need to try the soup of the day it’s like a surprise for your palate each time. Also the owner reminds one of a bartender she makes you feel instinctively comfortable talking all your problems. It’s not so much of a place more like a treasured neighbourhood institution. I look forward to coming back there.

I’ve been here a few times in the morning and for lunch and everything I’ve gotten has been good. Pastrami sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, quesadillas, burgers, eggs, burgers with eggs. All fantastic! It’s my go to morning spot before I hit the train.
