The TexMex Tacos are amazing! So good you’ll come back again the next day!

Pretty darn good! Great homemade salsas/hot sauce and the guacamole is to die for! Plus they seem to be open to customizing your food which is great for me as a vegetarian. I don’t think the café is called JV Pizza and Taco anymore(new ownership). This place is definitely worth a try! Great burritos(they melt cheese and sauce on top!) and great soft veggie tacos too. We’ll be back for more. The interior reminds me of the Tex Mex joints in the Mission in San Fran, perhaps out of place in Brooklyn.

I tried to get delivery from here off of a food delivery site, but I never got to try the food because apparently they don’t deliver to my area. Which is fine, I understand that it’s possible there was some system glitch and this place accidentally showed up in my delivery area. But what I’m so upset about is that they didn’t contact me to tell me this until an hour later. I contacted the delivery site and they were really great about the misunderstanding. I blame the restaurant for waiting 1HOUR to contact me and tell me they can’t make it to me. It’s possible that they just got the order an hour after I placed it, but I find that unlikely as the delivery guy sounded like he was calling me from outside, and even said he’s on deliveries and my address is just too far for him. Oh well. If I ever AM in their area, I will be steering clear of this place.

Found this place because it showed up on Seamlessweb. If I’d walked by(which I did later that day) judging from its appearance, I would have passed it up – I just don’t expect great things from a place that has Mexican food, pizza, and Afghani food. But my veggie burrito was pretty solid. One of the better ones in the neighborhood, and I’ve had my share. Very friendly service, tasty guacamole, and I was assured that the beans were totally vegetarian. Will definitely order from here again! Recommendation to owners: spiff the place up, narrow down and perfect the options, and you’ll get many more customers.

We ordered delivery from this restaurant and I honestly can’t rate the food because after over two hours of waiting and talking on the phone to employees from this restaurant we still have not received it. I can however rate the business and communication side of it. and that’s why it gets one star. It probably wouldn’t taste good at this point though anyway.

Tex Mex food this cheap shouldn’t be this good, food this obviously freshly made shouldn’t be this cheap, and food this LOVINGLY made is only proof that I want the owner to adopt me. This place could NOT look/sound/seem sketchier, but it seriously wins. We ordered delivery and apparently spoke with the owner’s daughter. The owner himself delivered our food and spent a good 10 minutes chatting with my husband about how he hopes we like the food and stuff. That’s straight up adorable. And the food was straight up awesome. We had cheese flautas(magic con queso), nachos(freshly-fried flour chips of majesty), and some kinda burrito something I didn’t try because I was blissfully entering a flauta coma. Yay. So much yay.

i first popped into this shady looking business on a total whim. «pizza & taco. wait, what?» the place looks like it’s been there forever without the slightest upgrade. i asked the little woman behind the counter what she recommended. Tex-Mex tacos with beef. i haven’t ordered anything else since. they aren’t quite tex-mex, but they’re damn good. you get fresh carne asada with onion, cilantro, sour cream, lettuce and cheese. it’s rock solid and each taco only costs $ 2.75. i eat here 2 or 3 times a week and the main guy(JV?) is super friendly. i presume it’s his family cooking food in the back and it’s just badass.
