Image Unisex and Spa Salon

I waited to long for this person to start cutting my hair, and when they started, they looked lost and took almost an hour on my haircut, and i had a simple haircut.

My rating is solely for Angela who is patient, talented and very professional. I have never encountered anything less than politeness from other persons on staff, but cannot speak to their hair styling skills. I appreciate that punctuality it rewarded and have yet to arrive and find someone «just slipped in» ahead of me, an irritating habit some other salons have. Haircuts are very reasonably priced and it is not unusual to have a bit of head massage while hair is being washed.

Just don’t call up on Sunday — — — — RUDE to say the least. They answered the phone and said «Call back on Tuesday, call back on Tuesday, call back on Tuesday,» CLICK. I called back and told the RUDE WITCH how inappropriate and rude she was. I hung up on her. If you want customers, you do not treat anyone who comes to your salon or where ever in this type of manner. Not sure if I want to go there again. I’m not going to take this type of TREAMENT from ANYONE!!! WOW WOW WOW, I really don’t believe I’ll go back. THere are many bad places for color in NYC, I though I found a find, but you know what, I don’t need this crap anywhere.

I recently moved to Brooklyn Heights from Boston. With thinning, baby fine hair, I was concerned about finding someone who could cut and color well. Two of my neighbors recommended Image, so I gave it a try yesterday. Maya was happy to accommodate my desire to keep the same hairstyle I’d had for years, but fortunately, I gave her the go ahead to do what she felt would be more current and attractive for my hair and face. I am thrilled with the results. The color is natural looking, bright and pretty. The cut is youthful, current, and adds a look of volume. Maya showed me how to achieve the same styling result at home. She then recommended I have my eyebrows shaped by Olga. Olga’s waxing gave me a more eyes wide open appearance. I’ve found my place in my new home!

Where to start? They destroyed my hair and when I called about a refund yelled at me and called me «not nice.»
Preface: have never asked for a refund before. I was painfully polite through the entire thing.
I have naturally light blonde hair that I had dyed medium brown. When my roots started growing in I went to images for a color correction so things could grow out looking more natural.
The stylist said she would dye my hair blonde over the color instead of stripping it I’ve colored my hair maybe twice before so trusted her– I didn’t know better. She said she would do a test strand but then didn’t. when I realized that, it was too late.
It looked like candy corn. Yellow orange and white at the roots. People in the salon looked appalled.
I agreed to pay $ 50 extra for a full head of highlights to fix it.
The stylist MIXED AND APPLIED THE WRONG STUFF and foiled my whole head with something that pulled a lot of hair out but was apparently conditioner.
Then she had to re-​foil my head with actual highlights.
At this point we’re four hours in and she blow dries and I leave and I’m thrilled to not look like a candy corn.
But I get home and am appalled. I see friends and they’re like «it’s kind of like a highlighter.»
The worst part was when I called I was yelled at. They offered to fix it but after they messed up the correction and the highlights I didn’t trust them to touch my hair.
I was so polite. I appreciated that my stylist, despite messing up, was kind. But she also spent the whole appointment talking about the times she’d dyed hair green by accident etc.
the manager refused to let me speak, she called me «not nice» «mean» and «rude» when I never raised my voice. She admitted they put the wrong mix in my hair for an hour but said it wasn’t a mistake (huh?) promised to call me back after speaking to the owner and never did.
I wish I could give zero stars.
And by the way, I went to a nicer salon and they fixed it beautifully– so it’s not like it couldn’t be done.

Worst idea. Ever. Next time I will wait the week to see a real stylist… no matter how long my hair is getting. I even brought a picture and I got something horrible. DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT HERE.

I have been going to Image Salon for many years as I used to work in the area but currently relocated and work in Manhattan. I have tried numerous salons around my new place of employment and none of them compare to Image. I missed the professionalism, cleanliness, charm, and skill of the salon and crew at Image. I came back and the commute is so worth it for me!
My haircuts, color, and blowouts are always flawless. My mani-​pedis are amazing as they have always been and my lavendar waxes are oh so pain free! Image is small and charming and always immaculate; all the utensils are sterilized, the waxing sticks are not double dipped and the products and nail colors are always the best on the market. I love that the appointments are always on time and they are so accommodating in making them. It’s a no stress environment with excellent results Highly recommended!

Had bought an Amazon deal for a Brazilian wax, it was a terrible experience.
I would recommend not going there for waxing services. Worst experience ever, and I’ve tried so many other places which are much better.
The lady was not gentle at all, it was unhygienic, she was downright mean and it hurt like hell.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend going there if you are sensitive or not used to waxing.

Quick version: Anthony is a god with scissors and color, easy to get an appointment, prompt, attentive, well priced. Highest recommendation.
In detail review: After receiving a horrible haircut at my normal salon in jersey, my aunt took me to her stylist of eight years, Anthony, at Image. The aforementioned bad haircut was so terrible and very short, so I was skeptical anyone could do anything to fix it. As it turned out, ANTHONY IS A MIRACLE WORKER. He transformed my bad (and difficult to work with) hair into a style I now love. He also gave me the most gorgeous, expertly blended highlights I’ve ever had. Needless to say, after one visit, I am a loyal customer of this fabulous establishment. An added bonus, the salon is very well priced. (My cut and color were much less than I paid at my old salon). Anthony only works on Thursdays though – the other days of the week he works at a very ritzy, exoribtantly-​priced salon in Manhattan with high profile clients. Now that I’ve had him work on me once, I’d pay any price for his flawless work. But on Thursdays you can get this gem of a stylist for a great price in the more modest environent that Image Salon offers. In sum, I give this place my highest recommendation. Excellent service. Maya gives great haircuts and Olga gives great manicures and pedicures. The salon is very clean, prices very fair and they are prompt with appointments. Highly recommend.

The staff is friendly. The haircuts are great. They just relocated but the PRICES ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I’ve gone here twice and each time gotten an above average male haircut for very cheap prices ($ 20 and $ 16; they gave me a discount the second time for some reason). The other few customers seemed very loyal, though it was pretty empty. Apparently they’ve just recently relocated and have had a difficult time attracting clients. I recommend!

Had a fantastic pedicure with Natalie on Saturday. Will definitely be going back. Took a full 45+ minutes, just to let everyone know.
Not really sure whats up with the birds though. I kept hearing like wings flapping and chirping and shit like in the back of the salon. Bizarre.
