I was in Brooklyn from out of town for a wedding and had an amazing blow dry from Teresa. I was looking for a blow dry bar in Brooklyn and couldnt find one. I actually called the concierge at the hotel before I came and they recommended this salon. I made the appointment with the receptionist at the front desk at fabios and fabios wife even called me back to assure me that Teresa could do my hair the way I wanted. I wanted volume with loose waves. My hair came out gorgeous and today is 5 days later and it still stayed! Teresa has a great hand and definitely knows how to blow dry. They also have a makeup person there who put lashes on me. The salon is very clean and comfortable… and you will definitely feel like you’re getting personal attention.

What’s not to love about this salon? The stylists and colorists (no crossover) are amazing. Evelia gave me a haircut that is easy to manage on not easy hair and has helped my hair grow. Michael gives me amazing highlights that don’t burn my hair off (I’m pretty blonde). The interior is modern and lovely, the italian coffee is to die for. The whole team is friendly, knowledgeable and make you feel like they genuinely care about their work and your satisfaction. It’s pricey but worth it.

Mary is an amazing talent. I cannot say enough good things. I have thick, wavy hair that can take on a triangular shape if not layered properly. After spending considerable time discussing my hair with me before it was shampooed, Mary then blew it dry before cutting it. She placed seamless layers from the chin down. My hair has never looked better. I can now rough dry my hair with my hands and it falls into place perfectly. In addition to being a incredible hair stylist, Mary is a warm and delightful person. I was at ease from the moment I sat in her chair. A perfect hair experience!

Due to economic strains, I hadn’t gotten highlights… in over two years. My efforts had been home-​bound, mixing my own color and going it alone. Yes, I saved a ton of dough, and for awhile it was okay to put up with a more auburn look, BUT – after a major mishap with HAIRPRINT (do *NOT* try this product – despite the fact that it is «all natural,» this process is incredibly messy, surprisingly expensive, and utterly terrible…) I returned to Rocco for relief. While he did lovely blond highlights that made Hairprint’s dark roots a distant detour, I actually felt that the final result was a bit too «Vegas» for my more understated tendencies… So wonderful Rocco spent another evening smoothing out the color for a more gentle, softer effect. Ever the perfectionist, I truly appreciate that Rocco takes pride in pleasing his clients: he really wants to get it *just right.* If you are brunette with a similar style, simply request «caramel» highlights for a more subtle result.

i have been here twice, one last year, had my hair done with Hector, who is phenomenal. second time with different stylist, there was a little issue but Fabio himself came in and handled so professionally and he was so sweet and took his time to explain how certain things work and how with my hair texture, the product might have worked. Either way, I LOVE this salon, so professional, the salon itself is gorgeous, and everyone there is so nice and make you feel very welcomed and comfortable and if you happen to meet Fabio himself its a treat because he is really awesome:) btw, it took me a long time to write this review, but i am glad i remembered to write today finally:)

Just had my hair cut there. Fabio and the staff is very nice and professional. I’m a tall guy with long blond hair and have always felt weird at a woman’s salon or get my hair messed up at a men’s place. Fabio’s true passion is hair and he explained everything to me and after it was done I was very happy. I will go back.

This salon is the real deal! Evelia is a real pro, and a gem! I would go there every week forever if I could! In an area where it’s hard to find personalized care and competence, this salon is top notch!

Clean, stylish and conveniently located, I was treated very well and my hairdresser Mary was so nice and listened so well. She made my hair look beautiful and really made my day. Then Rocco talked to me about Balayage while I was getting my hair done and it was very informative and efficient. I will be going back!

I’m very particular about who cuts my hair, but I’ve had no complaints since going to Evelia. She’s excellent at what she does. She’s talented, meticulous and a great listener. My haircuts here are easily the best I’ve had and the compliments I’ve received since are a testament to that.

Not sure why it took me so long to write this review but here it is.
BEST PLACE EVER TO GET YOUR HAIR DONE. Ever. even now that I moved about 1 ½ hours away from this place, I will go nowhere else.
I usually see Rocco for Color and Mary for cut both excellent but I have to say I had other stylists here and they are all very very good. hence: you really cannot go wrong.
Prices are reasonable: the place is clean, modern and use good products so I don’t think it is overpriced.
Make sure you go, you won’t be disappointed!

Walking in I was so impressed by the salon’s cleanliness and sophistication. I asked for a coffee and within minutes I was brought an espresso with a glass of water. I got single process color with Rocco, who was extremely friendly and knowledgable about hair. He patiently explained to me the color process and made a recommendation which I went for. I am so so happy with the result. You can tell quality and experience when you see it and Rocco’s work is exceptional. While I waited for my hair to process I asked if they could fit me in for a haircut and immediately they accommodated my request and I was squeezed in for a cut with Nordia. She listened intently to what I wanted and suggested I get a dry cut, which was a great decision because my very thick hair is now loads lighter.
The team, the service, and the results blew me away. I am definitely going to be a regular here.

I got a much need cut and style by the wonderful Evelia. I can’t say enough about her professionalism and talent.
I’m not very fussy with my hair styles because of the thickness and amount of hair I have — I rarely wear it out. But due to Evelia’s amazing cut and style, I’ve worn my hair out multiple times. I got so many compliments after my cut.
I also purchased a PHYTO hair mask and my hair feels much healthier!
I would definitely recommend Fabio Scalia to friends!

Tough to choose the star rating because some of the talent at this salon is exceptional. I’ve been coming to this salon for about 8 months.
Nordia is excellent for styling. Visionary.
Hector gave me a great color consolation and his guidance to try the «ombré» highlight method was perfect.
However, I cannot recommend this salon for Keratin treatments. I have had Keratin at many salons for over 4 years, and the product they use here did not work, at all, for me.
The salon kindly offered a second attempt at the Keratin treatment, but even then, no change. As much as I appreciate the free second attempt, this is hours of my life and it was a very expensive treatment. For keratin, I would definitely go elsewhere, and whatever product this salon uses, they should reconsider the «return on investment» for their clients and perhaps test more before rolling it out to clients. Because I have had so much experience with Keratin, I doubt that my experience with this product was specific to me.
But, I write this review gratefully and with fondness for the Fabio Scalia team for all the other wonderful salon services.

I am terribly hard to please when it comes to salons — because I rarely see the value of spending a lot. But I knew Nordia was a special stylist because after the first visit, I felt different. My hair was manageable and felt wonderful. So, I have gone back several times — and each time, Nordia remembers me and listens to what I want. She takes the time to get it right and while I’m still not a fashionista, I feel good and others have noticed the difference in my look.

I was originally referred by a good friend and her family after relocating to the area and Fabio Scalia certainly doesn’t disappoint. Evelia is amazing. I’ve never had someone pay so close attention to my hair; I feel like she literally examines ever strand of hair to make sure its in sync. Michael has colored my hair and she’s great, too – she very much listened to what I had in mind and suggested a process that worked well for my existing hair type and coloring.
I don’t come to the salon to drink coffee, but the complementary beverages they offer you are awesome. They’ve really taken the time to think about ambiance.

Cool and hip salon with a very friendly vibe. I had my second styling appointment with Evelia this past Saturday. Evelia was an attentive listener and gave me exactly what I wanted. Careful and intentional with every snip. Personable and fun to talk to.
Side note, I came to the salon with my husband and dog in tow. The salon was welcoming and made them feel at home as well, including giving my pooch a bowl of water. They carry high quality products and when I left I felt very posh and smelled wonderful.
If you need color or a Keratin treatment see Rocco. My mother has been going to him and she has loved the results. My mom also goes to Evelia for styling. The owner, Fabio, stops by each chair to check in with clients, chat it up a bit and make sure you have everything you need. No regrets at all and I always seem to have «hair regrets». Go, I recommend without any reservations.

I have been a client since early 2000 and have had the best experience any one who loves to take care of their hair can have .
Fabio is a professional on the highest level always gracious and his staff is the best .
My colourist is Rocco and he has always done an amazing job on my hair !!
They are my hair family and I will be with them for a long time to come.

I am happy to say I have become a regular here. Everyone here is courteous and does their best to make a client feel comfortable and at ease from the moment of arrival. Stylists are excellent too — my favorite is Evelia, who is always friendly (but not overbearing or phony) patient, earnest, and professional. She always takes the time to figure out the cut I want and then faithfully executes. Nordia is wonderful too.
This salon is not cheap but is quite tame considering the outlandish New York standards and the quality of service you get.
Always happy to recommend a well-​run business, whose owners and staff appreciate the clients and provide an excellent service.

I rarely leave the comforts of the west village but when I found out that Simone was working her magic at Fabio Scalia in Brooklyn– I ventured out of my comfort zone! I am so glad I did!!!
The salon is wonderful and Simone is a true artist… always knows exactly what to do to have me looking my best.

I never write a review for anything, but I just had to write one for this salon. I have lived in NYC for 4 years now, and I had the hardest time finding a good salon.
The first time I went, Fabio cut my hair, and it was a phenomenal experience. The past few times, I’ve had Nordia cut my hair, and every time she cuts my hair, it is beyond amazing. She puts so much care into cutting your hair and is thoughtful about how it even looks when you put it up. My hair is cute wearing it down or up!
I commute from the UWS, and it is so worth it.
I highly recommend this place. Staff is so friendly and sincere, and the stylists have exceptional skills for hair.
