Super friendly guys run this place. They often have unusual wines out and they are happy to share a taste. You won’t find the typical selection of major brands here –Jamesons, Johnny Walker, Absolut etc etc — they just don’t even bother with them. Instead, they get small batch, local and interesting imports. On wine, they never steer me wrong — they know every bottle in the shop and can make recommendations that are on point. Last time I stopped in I had my 3 year old son with me and they gave him a pretzel. So nice!

Every bottle of red wine recommended by these guys are spot on and always at a decent price point. Like other places on Henry St, this place is definitely a neighborhood place, the guys are super friendly, not pretentious like some wine stores tend to be…

Dominic is a solid guy and he passed the torch in late 2014 to solid new owners, who are introducing interesting new wines, particularly southern European, and are very enthusiastic about the business. They are impressive and are easily giving Smith & Vine and Scotto’s a run for their money. Well worth a visit.

We had an hour wait for Lucali’s and thought we should stop by here and grab a bottle of wine for dinner. Apparently, the people who run this place go to Lucali’s 3x a week! Of course, we had to ask them for their choices of wine to pair with pizza. They suggested a type of Italian wine that I was not familiar with. We took their advice and was not disappointed! I would def come back here to grab wine whenever I dine at Lucali’s again. The people were friendly and easy to talk to.

Great wine shop with an easy to navigate selection. The owners are really friendly and gave me a great suggestion for a wine to go with Lucali’s pizza(right down the street). Pick up some bottles and BYOB!

Polite, helpful and cheerful. All you’d want in a local bottle shop proprietor. Plus the white wine for cooking he recommended was really good and priced very reasonably. The place isn’t huge but intimate. Would definitely return to check other selections.

Small selection, higher than expected prices for the neighborhood, $ 20 minimum on credit card transactions and an owner that is sometimes talkative and helpful, and other times can’t be bothered to acknowledge your presence until you’re ready to pay. If you need a nice wine and helpful staff, got to Heights Château on Henry & Court instead. Bigger selection, better prices, friendlier staff.

This is a beautiful store with a great choice of wine. The owner is very pleasant, and knows his wines. We tried their South Australian Gotham red wine, which is awesome. It’s so cool to have a real neighborhood wine store, we need more local stores locally run like this one.

We moved in just around the corner from this place about 5 months ago and have ended coming here at least once or twice a week ever since.(…lordy seems like we are alcohlics. Oh well.) Dominic owns the joint and is great, always friendly and certainly knows his booze. Oh, also, a 2x yearly free wine tasting with food pairings! Yes, please! My cousin and I stumbled into his last one on one of the first crisp fall Saturdays of the season. The chef is the guy that heads up a little divey place known as the WALDORFASTORIA. Yep, can’t get much better than that.

Came here tonight to grab a bottle of red for dinner at Lucali a few blocks away. The employee/owner(?) manning the joint that night was incredibly helpful in selecting a Merlot that was a perfect accompaniment to delicious pizza. Will definitely come back if i ever find myself in Carroll Gardens again!

This place is great for some standard booze but I would recommend the Heights Château for wine(and booze). Unless you’re looking for several types of reasonably priced chianti or commercial wines like Yellowtail and Rosemount Estate. Service can be friendly(booze) or a bit know-it-all(wine). It’s fine in a pinch for booze in my opinion but don’t go out of your way.
