I ate at George’s after looking for a quiet place nearby to just have some breakfast and coffee. The breakfast was awesome, I just ordered some french fries and eggs(standard) but the reason why this place is so special is its very«old school.» This is not the place where you are going to find the latest and greatest booths and counters and flooring, but what you do find is the locals that come to Geroges Luncheonette and the guy at the front who treats you like family. This older greek man at the front(excuse me for forgetting his name) Is very sweet, extremely kind, funny and attentive. The place in a way is a cozy quiet spot to have some good food and conversation. The food despite only trying the breakfast is your standard, but like I said the service is something special. Definitely will go back. Go if your looking for a quiet old school dinner were service is family oriented. Oddly we didn’t get a check and he just told us how much it was. I think that was the only odd but, okay thing. Open for breakfast and lunch, closed for dinner.

Great neighborhood ‘joint’. Pretty basic fare but great coffee and bacon and a really friendly place. Lots of regulars and friends meeting up here and you just know they have been coming here for decades. I bet the burgers are really good, too. Small with really tacky pleat her and formic a and it’s perfect. Super clean, super easy, super good!

Very, very old school and I liked that. Tiny place with friendly people and great bacon. If you are in this area and hungry for breakfast or lunch give it a try.

Great food & personable, kind, entertaining staff! Always fresh, made to order & quick service. Best burger in this neck of the woods. If you want something, all you have to do is ask & they deliver. Love this place!

George’s is an ‘old school’ luncheonette with limited seating capacity, but Pete and company serve up some good food. If you’re in a rush and want something good to eat check this place out.

A-OK is a good thing. :) I love this place because its SO New York and its a family owned business. I will definitely be back if I’m in the area. I think this is the kind of spot where you keep going until you get to know the people who work there. Then it becomes a 5 star diner. I had egg bacon and cheese on croissant and a coffee. The sandwich was standard diner breakfast food. Next time I might ask them what they recommend. One thing… My coffee was never refilled even though it was in a small cup, but that isn’t enough to dissuade me from going back. One thing to note: they don’t take credit cards. Glad I didn’t order anything else.

I have gone here several times over the years. It is as it was when it first opened many moons ago. George is like a blast from the past and I miss that type of service. Unfortunately, I have to write a a so so review based on my last visit. I went and had a small breakfast. I had 2 eggs scrambled and bacon and water. I did not have toast or potatoes and my meal came to $ 8.00. I thought that was a little overpriced. It hurt my heart.

If you’re looking for fresh, home cooking, you’ve come to the right place. Hamburgers made to order from high quality chop meat; there are no frozen patties here. Soups are made daily and there’s a daily lunch special — fresh turkey(not turkey roll), pot roast, and fish on Friday are examples. Breakfasts are hearty, the bacon is thick, and the pancakes delicious. If there’s something you’d like that’s not on the menu, just tell Pete, the owner, and it’s likely it will be delivered to your table. Even my Mom can not duplicate George’s rice pudding-rich, creamy and often still warm from the oven. And because the food is prepared fresh daily, items sometimes sell out, but with helpful suggestions from Pete and«the guys» there’s always a suitable backup.

«Established at this location since 1965»(according to the menu), George’s is a blast from the past. It’s perfect that the pics I took with my phone accidentally came out looking like black & white snapshots from a Kodak Instamatic. I feel totally comfortable there, with the laid-back atmosphere and the old décor. I even kinda like the small booths, since they remind me of the era before McDonald’s supersized everything and we’d go to the local luncheonette for a burger. The food is delicious. The place is hoppin’ on a weekday mid-morning. They do breakfast right. When you need half & half for the yummy coffee, you get to borrow a quart container from behind the counter. Every couple of minutes a new phone order comes in, and the counter guys manage to handle it all while attending to the tables. George’s is such a classic.

This luncheonette has been around for 45 years in Brooklyn and this was my very first visit there. When I walked through the doors, it felt like I was in a different time and place. Old fashioned formica tables, bar stools, mosaic tiles, and shiny metal along the walls. We took a small booth. It was quite small so I had to leave my bag on the floor. For a small place, the menu was quite extensive. They have breakfast food and lunch food. Omelettes, soups, salads, hamburgers, wraps, egg salad sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, grilled cheese, gyro sandwiches and platters… I got the gyro sandwich, and the rest of the family got hamburger deluxes and bacon omelette. The burgers looked beautiful and appeared particularly juicy. My gyro was outstanding. Hubby loved his bacon omelette and said the coffee was great. Oh! And the egg creams were awesome. The owner, Peter struck up a conversation with us, noticing that this was our first time there. Very chatty, friendly and with a thick Greek accent. He gave us a break on on the drinks since it was our first visit there. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that their hours are limited and that the booths were a bit on the small side. Great place to pick up lunch too.
