John who runs the shop on court street is Very Helpful and Knowledgeable about the products he sells. I Never had an issue with him or his staff. Anyone that Leaves 1 –3 star are the Spoiled people that gentrified the neighborhood an r used to people being their slaves. In spite of that John and his staff have taken abuse from them but have remained Respectful and Professional to these people. Also — games/hardware comes out daily/weekly in the hundreds. So cut the staff a break. I do MIS/IT work for Major Corps, Citibank, Morgan Stanley just to name two. if a new app/tech/software came out yesterday you need to give us time to catch up. HEY even your Doctors/Techs/Retail Agents/Cops/Lawyers/Cabbies need time to catch up. When was the last time u got a script from the Doctor and it didn’t sit right with you. U call the Doctor and he writes u a different script. See — learning as you go. I bet my Last dollar you complainers were Green and Noobs starting out. Stop your superior BS Know it all crap. I’m on to you. Computer Joe Joseph H

I was racially profiled while buying a $ 20 used video game with my debit card. Lol never again. Just for the record if you feel a card is fake 1) probably can’t use it as debit 2) its a bit rude to accuse the customer blatantly in their face. 3) the system you’re currently using can probably detect it thats why it was upgraded. But most importantly 2) you shouldn’t be so blatantly discriminatory in the person’s face.

Seems like a standard GameStop location to me. I’ve been here twice. The first time was for the midnight release of NBA2K13 and i was fairly impressed with how quickly/efficiently they handled a line of about 50 – 80 people. I was near the back of the line but able to get in, get my game, and go begin on my way home by about 10 minutes after midnight. The distribution was well organized. The second time I came my experience wasn’t as pleasant. I was attempting to sell some old games that had been collecting dust and there was only one person working at the time. It wasn’t entirely clear to me(Despite the fact that there was only 1 person working) where/how I should line up. I ended up standing in the wrong spot and having other customers who came in after me served before me as the person working, despite seeing me standing there, made no effort to check on me. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt and say I was an idiot for standing where I was, but at the same time, I would have appreciated if the staff member were more attentive.

It gets the basic job done, I don’t exactly expect five star service or really any service at a gamestop. It seems like most of the employees at this particular store don’t know a lot about games. The thing that really bugs me about this store is it always smells terrible. I don’t know what it is but it really does stink. This place is about 3 minutes from my apartment so when I have that money burning a hole in my pocket(or am so bored I can spare 60 bucks) I run down and pick up the latest game I want. It seems like I buy from here or Amazon when it comes to games nowadays.

Buyer beware is all I have to say about shopping at this abysmal Gamestop. I bought a new copy of Rage for the ps3 last week only to go home and find out the woman who rung me up removed the DLC insert in the game case. Why? Because I didn’t buy into the whole pre-order thing there. After playing for a good 10 hours I come to find out that I actually was supposed to receive the insert since I purchased the game new and would have to pay an additional $ 10 for something that should have been free. I returned to complain and I was able to exchange it for a copy with the additional content but the assistant manager made it a point to say how she was not supposed to do this and that she was«doing me a favor». Really? For giving me what I paid for and didn’t receive my first time there? If she really wanted to do me a favor, she could have compensated me for the time and money of having to come back and exchange the game. Honestly, save yourself some time, some heart ache, and some subway fare to boot and avoid this place like the plague. The customer service is just awful here and the people who work here just don’t give a shit.

We called to see if they had 2 used games in stock. They were polite and helpful on the phone. The answer was YES. Later in the store they were again polite and helpful. They remembered our phone call and produced the games for us right away. The line moved fast and we were able to pay and get out of there quickly. What separates this Gamestop from others is simply the service, otherwise, it’s a pretty typical Gamestop.

Always friendly, always knowledgeable, always quick service. Everyone is friendly to my son, and knows him well by now– he’s a big-time Xbox 360 gamer. Convenient hours. Love the reserve-a-game deposit and especially the power up rewards which gives me 10% off used games, which we buy a bunch of, as well as new. Can’t live without this Gamestop! Indeed, going there in the morning… usually once a week.

2 stars, but its a Gamestop, your not here for the atmosphere right? I would probably put any Gamestop at 2 stars or worse. I would recommend you preorder your games from this store, because the on-shelf selection is, I think, deliberately weak. Meaning your chances of getting that AAA title on release day is zero and nil. Also, the PC selection is basically non-existant. If you know what you’re looking for I find the service adequate, but I cant imagine being a parent lost in this store. Is any of this worse than any other Gamestops? probably not

I called to ask a question about a accessory, to see if they still buy them. The girl who answered had no idea what I was talking about, sounded like she didn’t even know what a Xbox was(go figure) and she put me on «hold» to ask the manager. I could hear everything that was being said and she asked him if he would want to take the phone call to help since she didn’t know what it was I was looking for. He said«no» VERY loudly and she LAUGHS. Didn’t even bother to look for what I was asking about and just told me they didn’t buy them. I know what manager it was, because I know his weaselly voice. I’ve spent thousands over the years in that store and you can’t even be bothered to help me look for something, that I’m trying to SELL you and make more money for your store when you resell, then openly mock me on top of it? Screw this place.

There are really only two things I care about when I take my kids to Gamestop. 1. Will they have the game they want in stock? 2. If we are not going for a specific game, will they have plenty of used games to choose from so I can get games that they will play a total of five times for cheaper than a new game? Answers: 1. Yes 2. Yes I do also care if the line moves quickly and that the employees are not very rude. I can handle mildly rude at a Gamestop, but I’m not sure what others expect when coming to a store that sells just video games. Customers make it disorganized by looking at all the boxes all day. If you are going to Gamestop for some sort of «experience» I am sure it will fall short, if you are going there to buy a video game for you or your children, I am sure you will do just fine and be out of there in less than five minutes.

The Gamestop on Court Street in Brooklyn Heights offers a standard Gamestop experience. The people who work there are all about 16 years old and completely undertrained and unprofessional, the shelves are loaded with used games that nobody wants to buy, the store is dark and cramped. and the entire experience is generally lousy. If you live in the neighborhood then this is probably your go-to shop, as the Target at Atlantic/Pacific is an even worse shopping experience, but I would not choose to shop here unless I really didn’t have any other options.
