Excellent Nail II Salon

I have been going to this nail place for a while, but now I’m considering trying a new place. I been going to this place only because it’s close to home, but I think I’m done with this place. They rush too much while doing nails, they never take their time. Sometimes it feels like a waste of money coming knowing that they’ll just rush, and not do such a great job. They are also very cheap when it comes to using their nail polishes, and their polishes look very crusty. They really need to stop being so cheap just to save every last drop of their nail polishes. They’ll do anything to charge anyone extra. Overall, they are very cheap, lame, their color sections are weak, and they’re petty. I’ll travel somewhere else to get my moneys worth.

I got my eyebrows done here yesterday, and they’re still burning, with lots of red bumps. I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed for many, many years, in various salons, and I have never had any irritation afterward, let alone a whole day later. The entire waxing took about 3 minutes, so I don’t know if this salon doesn’t put on the same lotions as other salons, doesn’t prepare in the correct way, or what, but I will never get my eyebrows done there again. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars rather than 1 is because it was super cheap. $ 5 for eyebrows? I was sure I was mishearing the salon worker. So, you get what you pay for, but I’d rather pay an extra few dollars.
EDIT: I woke up this morning with huge scabs over my eyes. Definitely not worth the money.

For me, presentation is everything. They are very attentive when working. moreso than a lot of other places. She even got me with the upsale, but I was never able to relax due to the poor presentation. Everything looks and feels second hand. Not a problem for some, but was for me. Didn’t feel like it was worth paying the extra few to stay in the neighborhood when I can get a better atmosphere a few streets over. Also, no wifi.

I’m not a fan of this place at all. I didn’t have time to run over to my usual place in sheepshead bay, so i took a chance on here. First of all, the nail techs are rude. Like, very rude and to be honest, kind of lazy. First of all, I prefer stilleto nails, and the nail tech working on me (who I think was the manager), kept complaining when I said I wanted my nails shorter (I must have said it like 5 times), and then still kept them kind of long. The only time she even seemed remotely nice was when I asked about getting stones put on my nails, and even then she kept badgering me about getting them done. I definitely got the feeling she was just haggling me and didn’t care if I was happy with her service — for me, I don’t care about the price as long as the service was good and you are somewhat pleasant, and I got neither of those here. To top it all off, my nails were done crooked, my pedicure (fair warning, they use an electric wall sander on everyone’s feet) chipped the same day, and I felt like the techs were sleazy. Always suggesting something that cost more money, while not really doing a good job to begin with. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

I had to cut off two stars. I went back for a pedicure and it was refreshing to hear that the people recognized me. The reason for the edit is that the guy cut into my nail bed. Yes, the nail bed. I felt a sharp pain and when I looked down there was a little blood on the side of my toe nail plate. When I got home, my toe got red and puffy and over the course of at least a week, I had to deal with swelling and (Ew…) oozing. At the end of the day, it matters less to me how nice you are and more that you’re doing your job correctly, especially when it comes to something that can affect my health.

If actually prefer to give them 3.5 stars but I’ll give them the benefit.
Anywho, strolled in around 1:00p on a Tuesday afternoon. One or two others getting services. Not a huge gel color selection.
Nice that they don’t charge to remove gel polish. Wasn’t so nice that they just had a bowl of acetone instead of the wraps. Oh well gets the job done. Subtracted star for nail polish on cuticles but otherwise decent. Decent cuticle clipping, didn’t nip me but wish my hand massage was longer than 10 seconds.
