Happy to find a 3 – 5 month old resto, a block away from Dear Bushwick, who couldn’t manage to open today. Got their $ 12 steak and deep fried poached eggs with a side of home fries and salad w a full glass of mimosa. It was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly. Resto was clean. Can’t get better than this! Looked like they had a game room in the back. Enjoyed their upbeat music.

This used to be my favorite bar in the neighborhood because the food was AMAZING. Now that the original chef left it’s basic nachos, burgers, wings, etc. Same with brunch. The service used to be way friendlier. The waiters knew our names, what we drank, etc. Now it’s just pretty typical rude service, except for the occasional bartender that’s been there since the beginning who are still great. I really had hopes that this would be something different with nice, quality food and a chill atmosphere. Now with signs outside that say things like«drinks until we kick you out» I’m afraid it’ll just be another bar with obnoxious people and shitty food. Really bummed about it.

«Nice random spot» A friend and I dropped by this place last weekend. It was kind of empty on a Saturday night, yet the music was kind of loud. However, we learned that the place is fairly new and we arrived around 10pm, so that may have explained the sparseness. The space itself is fairly large with ample seating at the bar. The staff was pretty friendly. There is a large range of specialty cocktails and an decent list of draft beers. Most of the clientele is ok. It seems kind of random, regarding the people that hang out. This randomness may be due to the fact the place is fairly new and it has not«found» its groove. However, I hope that the groove stays like the one I experience because most of the people and staff were pretty laid back and chill. Unfortunately, there was an instance when a drunk patron(I think that she arrived to the bar drunk) used both racial and homophobic epithets towards me. She seemed like a regular(maybe she lives in the neighborhood) because some of the staff knew her. At least she was asked to leave and the staff were very apologetic for her actions. I do not fault the bar for her doucheness. I definitely want to check the place out because the some of the food menu items looked pretty interesting and it seems like a chill bar in a land that is soon becoming filled with bars that have«mixologists», huge ice blocks, and overpriced drinks.

Pros: the food! Delicious! We had the duck and the tenderloin and they were amazing. Decent value considering the quality of the dishes alone. Cons: The service — really forceful and abrasive waiter. The receipt said his name was Eric. At the start I didn’t think much about it. We asked for the drinks menu and instead of saying ‘we don’t have one’ he kept sidestepping and insisting they he knew everything and we didn’t need one. He asked my gf what she liked and when she said red wine he gave her the choice of two and he let us taste them. I didn’t mind him too much until the end of the meal. We asked for our check and without me realizing it turned out he had already taken my card from the table earlier. He said ‘I’ll just swipe it through’ and I insisted I wanted the check first but he kept repeating ‘I’ll just swipe it through, you don’t need the check’. We had to pretty sternly insist on the check first. Then he brought it, with my card and when I was shocked to see he had my card I asked him how he got it and he insisted I had given it to him. I was stone cold sober and 99% certain I had left my card on the table and never gave it to him. It would have been really weird for Me to have considering we were sitting down for dinner and I never open tabs anyway. Then rather than give us time to look at the check, he held on to the card and said ‘I’m going to swipe this through now’ and began to walk away. When I said wait, let me look at the check, he was again really oddly pushy and kept insisting saying ’ you don’t need to look at it, I’ll just swipe.’ The whole thing was really weird and I ended up having to put my hand out to tell him to stop and back off. He definitely realized eventually we were unimpressed and offered us shots which we declined. So bad I only tipped 15%. Really uncomfortable service experience, food would bring me back, but I’d avoid the weird waiter.

New bars in the city usually offer high hopes which are immediately crushed by over-priced drinks and a soggy atmosphere. Bushwicks’ new gem ‘Eastlands’ goes against that rule. The atmosphere is very ‘New York’. Being born and raised in the city, it’s hard to find a bar that doesn’t cater to just the hipster-yuppie take over. The crowd is very mixed from life-long local native to the 2-year implant. Seating is plenty and appropriately located still offering an old school bar feeling. The drink menu offers options, especially for the whisky drinker. The wine list is impressive, breaking the rules by offering such options as Bordeaux instead of just the Merlots most bars carry. The beer list caters to quality beer drinkers with everything from Spanish and German Lagers to popular Pale Ales. I even saw three different local beers. Now the food… I will let you judge yourself. The octopus was recommended to me, and initially hesitant I decided to go with the recommendation. I don’t know if I could ever order anything else. The menu was impressive offering everything from burgers to short rib. This place qualifies as a Resteraunt on its own. So if you’re in your twenties or fifties and looking for a few drinks or just something different to eat, I highly recommend!

Excellent new addition to the neighborhood! Chef Rebecca Weitzman’s menu is well-curated, and everything we tried — octopus, short ribs, polenta, and beet salad — was super tasty. The owners and staff are all extremely welcoming. With brunch starting, I believe, this weekend, we will definitely return.

Let’s start with the food and drink: 10⁄10. Beef short rib was superb. Also got a chance to experience the chicken and pancakes and was blown away. Full bar with anything you might need. Atmosphere is also spot on. Open space great to congregate with friends and meet new people. Last point, cute bartender. Think his name might be Cameron, worth visiting the bar just to get a chance to meet him.

This place is new, so it’s still settling into what it will become I guess. It’s big and roomy and open, lot’s of seating. The night I went in it was very much a bar, but the way the place is laid out with all of the tables it looks more like a restaurant. It seemed too open — not a great place for hiding away in a corner. I am curious about the food, I might go back to try it sometime, but I’ll probably wait for a bit while this place kind of defines itself. I don’t know how to describe it other than that — you know how you go in to some bars and there is a very specific crowd and vibe? This place didn’t seem to have that yet to me. I’m sure in time it will. Loved the round convex mirrors though!

The further East you go, away from Manhattan and deeper into Brooklyn, you come across a place called Eastlands. A stylish new addition to the already thriving Bushwick scene. Considering its modestly priced drinks and a menu that’s still being perfected you feel like this place is here to stay. With the first class chef, Rebecca Weitzman, preparing to launch a killer brunch in November, Eastlands promises to be the next go to place situated exactly between the Morgan and Jefferson stops on the L, equally close to the J, Z line. The cocktails are well prepared and the cod with mussels is excellent. Just need to fix the server problem and they’re good to go. The place is new but it feels like its been here for ages. Good luck!

This place is a great new addition to Bushwick. The owners are super chill, the place is nice and spacious and best of all, their fish tacos are bomb(I love me some legit fish tacos). Check ‘em out if you’re in the area and if not, well, you should hit em up anyways for an eventful night out with friends or even a date.

Friends were going to meet up here for a soft opening because they knew someone etc… pretty chill bar. Good bar food. Have your typical dive bar drink specials like beer and a shot at $ 6. Good addition to bushwick. Enyoy.
