Duane Reade

I would like to say that this store is an amazing store!
You have a friendly staff and pharmacy that is knowledgeable about the products. They are great at helping you to decide what products to buy (price comparison/​active ingredients). I am a huge fan of generic products and Duane Reade has a great selection of products that give the name brand competition a run for their money!
They have sales every week. coupons in the circular, a monthly coupon book, coupons you can clip from the Walgreen’s app, and sometimes you get register rewards (coupons). Also, they have a discount card… where you can sign up at the register or go to the Balance Rewards website which gives you access to their bargains.
What I love is that there is never a long line their as opposed to the rite aid near by, not to mention the less than impressive customer service. The customer service is pretty good at Duane Reade. LOVE IT!!!
Sometimes they do not have the item I need in stock but if it’s on sale, they do provide rain-​checks which are good to up to 60 days, and if not they’ll let you know when the item will arrive.
The Pharmacy is great too. sometimes going to other locations I find that they do not do it as quickly. But at this location they usually have my medication available and the staff is efficient. The pharmacist is knowledgeable too and is willing to consult with you about your medication and alternatives. They are very patient. Duane Reade also offers flu shots all year round and some other ones too. I think pneumonia, meningitis, and shingles. maybe more but I think these last 3 for sure.
It’s like a little neighborhood store which is why I really love it!

I do not think Duane Reade has better sales than Rite Aid which is 10 feet away so I just go in there for the pharmacy. Everyone back there is really nice and they actually pick up the phone so you can call your pick up ahead of time. Even when I go at lunch there is usually just one person ahead of me on line.

I love this location because it’s near my alma mater. It’s conveniently at the Flatbush Junction so I can catch the bus or train. It’s generally quiet and no lines. I often use the ATM machine even though there’s a Chase bank nearby, because they offer more discretion. The only complaint I do have is for the brand and not this specific location. How many points cards are we going to get? I had just upgraded from the all blue one to the white and now that DR has merged with Walgreens there’s another card. I can also bet that I have probably lost all of the points I have earned throughout these transitions.

Pretty okay.
They location is very convenient to almost every bus, train, and cab in the area so who’s gonna complain. The staff don’t seem to care much about helping you so be sure to have a few minutes on your hand or know where the item (s) you need is (are).
Grab the circular at the door if you have time to shop, it’ll save you a few bucks.
