The quality and the taste of the food is usually mediocre and just ok, occasionally good. I hate the vibe and ambience of the café, there’s just something that just makes it eh and uncozy. The service is horrendous. After ordering something, I put my money on the table between the me and the cashier so that I could close up my wallet and the employee just gave me a look with the her hand out, waiting for me to pick up the money to place it in her hand. Later, she rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath and whispered to another employee. Rude and completely uncalled for. I never step foot into this place anymore.

Don’t expect much from this CT Muffin besides a place to sit and drink pretty good coffee. The employees seem to have no self-awareness and are louder than the customers, which seems like a big red flag in the service industry — particularly in a coffee shop with lots of seating, where it’s expected to be a sort of quiet place where people can work and read. The bathroom(and by extension the toilet seat) was freezing cold. That’s so weird to me whenever a bathroom has a very different temperature from the rest of a restaurant. Don’t bother with the pastries and such; they’re nothing special. I’m tempted to give 1 star, but I did get a good amount of reading done here despite distractions, and it seems better to err on the side of 2 stars unless your experience is truly horrendous.

If you want a chain store that hasn’t trained their employees on customer service and want to wait 5 minutes for anything and sour attitudes, come here. I didn’t have a problem but I watched this happen to other patrons and it’s unacceptable the way they speak to their customers. Beware. Just FYI. Plenty of other local businesses to support. Not lazy chains.

I always feel kind of bad for the people behind the counter because I’ve never seen more than two of them back there, and this place can get busy. Whoever’s working the cash register is usually really nice anyway. Also, their flavored iced coffee is pretty good. The thing is, though, that I just found a dead fly on the lettuce in my sandwich and that’s pretty gross.

I want to find a nice coffee shop to study/relax at… this place can sometimes be just that place. They have free wifi for customers, which is a plus. But they do change the password once in a while, so you have to change the settings on your phone/laptop. They have many options for coffee/drinks and food. I tend to get the hot pressed panini’s because they’re made fresh after you order. I also get chai lattes which they have different flavors for. People a generally friendly here for New York standards. They at least smile, acknowledge you and say their please/thank yous. But…it can get loud. Especially after the kids get out of school in the afternoons or the weekends. Forget it being a nice coffee shop. It might as well be a beer hall.

Friendly staff and lots of seats with plugs, but their coffee is pretty awful. Tried both the iced and the regular and I was quite disappointed. I honestly prefer Dunkin Donuts to this and was not impressed with the hard muffin. :(

Fulton & Lafayette location. Zero Stars. Went in for coffee and it was luke warm and burnt. I asked for my money back and I was told by Shakura that there are no refunds. I then asked her to call the owners of CM so they could tell me that there are no refunds. While she was dialing she told the other associate that«I must’ve put too much milk in my coffee». I drink my coffee black. Shakura then informed me that her bosses were not picking up and she left a message. I don’t want my money back, but CM will never get any of my money again.

This place has proven to be a disappointment to me time after time. The young ladies that work at this location are very unfriendly and careless when making your drink and food. The two times that I came here I greeted the workers and they said nothing back with the straightest look on their faces. It’s really obvious that they do not want to work. Alongside being utterly unfriendly they never make my tea as asked. Constantly forgetting or just not really giving a damn, my drink was poorly prepared both visits. I also could have done without the way my pastries were thrown in a brown paper bag without any wrapping after I told the young lady at the register it was TOSTAY. On top of the rude workers being completely unfriendly and super emo at the register, the place always smells like burned toast due to careless food preparations. This place is not the friendliest cafè and you have to ask for the wifi code. Imagine that! After you’ve had to deal with such rude workers just to get your food you now have to «bother» them again to ask for the wifi code. This place sucks and you’re better off just not going.

I really wanted to like Connecticut Muffin. Maybe this was just a negative bad first experience but nonetheless, I was a bit disappointed. I’ve head their name before… being a chain in BK. I stopped by before work to grab a muffin and coffee to boost my day. There wasn’t too many people inside(at like 10am) although it looked like a giant crowd went through here. A decent amount of trash was left on the tables, it just didn’t look inviting. As for the service, like a lot of other people said– it was very slow.(Even though it was pretty empty at that time too!) I bought an apple cinnamon muffin which was okay. I’m know their very calorie-packed so if I’m gonna eat one I want it to be pretty damn good and worth it. Their coffee was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. I see that their chai shines, so maybe I’ll try that and that’ll redeem for my past exp.

I so wanted to love it here. I’ve tried it a couple of times, and every time I’m there the lines are so outrageous, and I end up waiting about twenty minutes with a line that shouldn’t have taken more than 5 – 10 minutes. On top of that, the coffee was TERRIBLE, and my lox sandwich was below mediocre. It’a also hit or miss with whomever is your server. Sometimes they’re really nice, and sometimes they’re really not. Never again. I will not be going out of my way to go here.

I got the friendly staff apparently. The coffee was good and sandwich was quite nice. I was actually surprised that it wasn’t that full, I went in during an afternoon needing to get some things done for work. Surprise, it wasn’t full like other coffee shops, and this is just speculation, because they do not have wifi. It was a good lunch nonetheless, but I needed to move on afterwards to get my work done.

I was only here for about 5 minutes, but I wish I could have stayed for a few hours. The café is very cute and friendly. The workers are nice and all of their baked goods look amazing. The only one I tried was the raspberry white chocolate scone, which was tasty, but not what I expected. They have yogurt muffins which look super moist and awesome, and I regret not trying one. Also, they have many different varieties of tea and coffee, which is always a plus. Wish I could have hung out here and enjoyed it!

As one reviewer stated, the impression of this place will differ based on who is working. That is a very frustrating problem – there should be better training that will instill in ALL employees best practices that please the customer. My cappuccino is sometimes good, sometimes NOT – please take the time to minimize the foam, I am NOT paying for a cup full of foam. The drip coffee is sometimes awesome and sometimes NOT – please refrain from serving weak coffee or as I like to call it «dirty water.» I am not paying for weak, stale coffee. The red velvet cake and cupcakes are a MUST here – they are absolutely awesome(though pricey). However, the slice of cake is sometimes ample/appropriate and sometimes NOT – please find the optimal size and STICK with it. I have notice a few more employees working on a single shift, so the wait time has improved. Kudos to that.

I have been frequenting this establishment since I started working in the neighborhood a little over a year ago and never had too much bad or good to say… but today I am annoyed with the service. There are a few things to know about CT Muffin. #1. Never go here in a rush. They are slow as 100-year old molasses! I don’t mind it so much because most of the staff is very nice but be warned, you will wait. They aren’t in a rush to do anything. #2. New girl burns the eggs. Who wants to pay $ 4-$ 5 bucks for a egg sandwich with burned eggs. I asked her to turn the pan down so the egg wouldn’t burn(commence the stank attitude, rolled eyes). Wait! How are you going to have an attitude about eggs you don’t even own and I just paid $ 4 bucks to have on my bagel. Lesson… If the newbies are cooking get your bagel with cream cheese. #3 The soup is good, sandwiches are ok, coffee is pretty good. If it weren’t for the burned eggs ordeal(twice now) I would have rated CT Muffin higher. Nothing worse then starting off your day with attitude from your breakfast spot. I think I am done here for a while. Maybe she won’t be there long… turn over is pretty high. I will check back in a few months. For now I am going to walk a few more steps to Le Bagel or Provisions and spend more money to be treated better

This place was pretty good, I think it depends on the people working what the quality of the food will be like. Once I went and got great food another time it was alright food. The reason I’m giving it three stars instead of four is the fact that there is no wifi. Overall not a bad place to hang out and chill though.

It’s been a bit since I popped into Conn Muff. More of a café now, there is plentiful seating for hanging out, listening to pop music an sipping joe. Perfect for teenagers — which is mostly who is sitting around me. I find their coffee to be bitter so this time ordered a Chai(served with steamed milk). They used a powder mix! This was a first. Blargh. Too sweet and not enough spice. Not enough staff, the tables are filthy with stickiness or people’s trash, garbage is over flowing and coffee spills are everywhere including the check out counter. Serious hot drink drinkers, dont bother.

I don’t get why all the low reviews. I bought two cakes here, one red velvet(Cake man was clean out) and pumpkin. The pumpkin was alright, nothing special(although I did enjoy the frosting). The red velvet was great, the cream cheese frosting added a few plusses. I know what I am about to say is blasphemy, but I thought it rivaled the renown cake man, and I believe it was an acceptable alternative for half the price. The staff was hard working yet polite to the customers as well. For as hard as they were working, I expected some sort of attitude or a feeling of rushing me through the line. I got none of that.

I take customer service very seriously, and I pride myself on touting the customer service experience at NYC establishments(my home town) in comparison to those that I experience in Oakland(where I live now). So I find it particularly problematic that we had to stand around waiting for mad long for anyone to address us about what we would like to purchase. That aside, my friend ordered a sandwich but it wasn’t prepared as advertised — it was missing the pesto. So she brought it to their attention, and asked that they replace it with the sandwich they’d prepared for me. They brought her back the same sandwich(not what she asked for), but had poured hummus on it(still not as it was advertised). She brought it to their attention again, they brought her the sandwich back, this time looking like some hybrid of what I’d ordered and what she’d requested, in the same paper, now soiled with all of the condiments of the last two rounds. And then… they give her the ASSCRACK of the tomato?! Are you serious, right now? Moral of the story… DOBETTER.

I don’t like chains. I despise them. I try to avoid them at all cost. But somehow, I find myself here in the mornings. Besides, it is one block from my flat. I keep coming back for the iced coffee and for some reason, the help behind the counter now seem familiar. There is the Asian looking young man with stretched earrings and the man with the dreadies. Service can be slow, but when the help rewards you with a tall glass of iced coffee and a big smile, nothing else matters.
