Chef One

NYC based and family owned company that makes great precooked dumplings and asian appetizers. This company also gives back to the community every year by donating food and all the proceeds from thir Dumpling Eating Contest to the Food Bank of NYC.

I tasted Chef One’s vegetable pot stickers Brooklyn Eats fancy food show. Delicious! And vegan! And available at Shoprite, Fairway, C-​Town, Associated, and other stores around Brooklyn.

So. I am writing a review for an entire corporation. A bit strange, yes, but I just got back from the Dumpling Festival which was sponsored (and predominantly fed!) by Chef One.
The festival was a very busy event, and I had the honor of volunteering in the VIP tent and chatting with the company owners, chefs, and employees. Better yet, I got to try a number of their foodstuffs. From spring rolls to whole wheat dumplings, I was impressed even though the food was previously cooked and left to warm for hours. Great texture and seasoning – a rarity for processed chicken stuffs.
The best part was knowing that this company supports the Food Bank of NYC, not just by donating products, but also by donating all monies raised in today’s event. I will be stocking my freezer with their products so they can keep donating to feed the working poor in NYC!
