Bring it back! Great Wings, Burgers and Fries. Got mediocre reviews when in reality, they have really good food. Looks like something else is coming(bakery or something) Booooooooo! Bring back Flipsters!

I was craving a burger yesterday and walked over to Flipsters but it looks like it shut down. There’s no mention of why on their site or social media feeds. I hope it’s just temporary. :( I never understood why this place had such bad reviews, I’ve been here numerous times and was always happy with the food and service. Come back, Flipsters!

Does anyone know why this place closed? Did they move to a different location? What happened?

We’ve been here many a times. A good place for an OK burger. my husband and I walked in the waiter just stood there looking at us. 2 men at the bar drinking so it wasn’t busy. We walked ourselves to a table. We waited 5mins for a menu. We order our food. Food was decent. The waiter was so busy entertaining a lady and 2 other gentlemen with a liquor bottle with earmuffs. He looked like he didn’t want to be bothered. I am not going back.

Flipsters is fine for a burger and beer. It’s really a bar masquerading as a restaurant. Don’t have high expectations and you won’t be disappointed(i.e. If you go to a burger place for brunch don’t expect stellar French toast). Service is ok, friendly but a bit lax. The burgers are decent size and juicy and they give a nice amount of bacon. However sides are kind of blah(pretty sure those onion rings were frozen) and needed tons of salt, caramelized onions were kind of lost, and the potato bun got kind of soggy quickly. Honestly I would probably go 3 stars but the menu kinda hides the fact that fries are an extra $ 3. So when the lunch bill for two burgers, two $ 6 beers, fries & onion rings came to $ 42, I gotta take a star away. There are far better burgers in the nabe for that price.

Ordered off of seamless and by far worst decision. The fries taste like cardboard, and aren’t cooked well at all. Burger sub par. On top of that the delivery guy held the buzzer of my apartment as I was running down to meet him I heard him buzzing every other apartment in the building, I mean is anyone really that idiotic? Would not recommend wasting your money on Flipsters

I don’t like writing bad reviews but there’s no way I can not share. I’ve been here several times a couple of years ago and always loved it. Today I checked out their reviews on Unilocal and was shocked that they were mostly bad reviews but if things are usually how they were today it explains everything. I am beyond dissapointed in the absence of integrity the cook had in putting the food that he put out and in the waitress who also saw the food. My mom and I decided to order brunch which I was iffy about because its a burger joint, I should have listened to my gut not to. My mom didn’t like the coffee, she said it was too strong, she asked them to pour half out and she put more milk. It still was too strong. .Mom ordered three eggs over medium, homefries, bacon and toast. I ordered challah french toast with ham. Our food came cold, COLD! My french toast came with cold bacon instead of ham and as you can see on the picture it looks like wonder slice bread. It definitely was not the challah bread I saw in other Unilocal pics. It came spaced out on the plate as you see, no powder sugar not even an attempt to make it look decent. Again, I don’t know how both cook and waitress were okay with serving french toast that looked like my 9 yr old niece made. I took one bite curious to see how it was, it was raw on the inside. You can tell it was oversoaked. We called the waitress over to tell her that wasn’t challah bread, that I didn’t order bacon… We also told her to take my moms plate and reheat it. She went over to speak with the chef and didn’t come back to us, instead she headed to the bar and served herself something when my mom had to get the attention of another worker to get her. She was super laid back the whole time with no sense of wanting to really make things right and continued to make things worse. She said that the challah bread didn’t come in, she should have known that and should have told me that when I ordered. So we gave them a chance(which we should have just left) and got the pancakes. She came back with my moms eggs now over cooked, we were laughing hysterical at the situation because we were so in shock of how they can get something so simple wrong with no customers!!! There was only two men who were together, the place was empty. My moms plate also came back with three pieces of toast versus four that was on it , maybe someone got hungry. My pancakes were ok, definitely not worth the price. If your going to have brunch it needs to be special, for that I could have made breakfast at home. She never brought me my ham and left me with the cold bacon. She offered to get the ham but it wasn’t worth it, by the time she would have gotten it I would have been finished with my food. I had to calm my mom down, never again. We should have walked out right after the first order considering that they were able to mess up when there was no one in the place. We only paid for the pancakes and even that probably should have been free with all the mistakes. The waitress was nice but mia and slacking, never once checked on us. Horrible customer service! Can’t wait to see the review of others.

As always, Brooklyn never ceases to amaze me with good eateries like the gem that is Flipsters! The décor is wholesome, the beers on tap are delicious. The food is far better than your average burger joint and the service we got was point-on! We were greeted right away and seated at a nice cozy table. The waitress knew her stuff and we loved her suggestions. Your dollar will go far in return for what you get here. Will definetly be back! The life-size cow outside is a selfe opt!

I just had the best turkey burger in town! They had a nice selection of craft beers. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent! I wish I could give this place 6 stars! I will be back for the bottomless brunch and NFL Sunday Ticket this weekend.

I came in and had the kobe burger and garlic pesto steak fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the pesto fries made it worth the trip alone. The place itself was a little older but it made it feel like a local family restaurant. My girlfriends and I enjoyed ourselves and plan on returning regularly.

This place is underrated! The burgers and sandwiches are really yummy. I’ve been here about 3 – 4 times and I haven’t been disappointed. Get a burger or chicken sandwich with some fries maybe a milkshake and I think you’ll be back.

I only gave this place two stars because they have good food but the service is horrible. I’ve been here multiple times and ordered from here multiple times so I’ve had experience with both. I’m going to start off with the food. That’s the only good thing I like about this place. The food is pretty decent. I’m a huge fan of their wings. There’s not too many wing places in park slope so finding a place that makes good wings is a plus. They have good burgers too. Some of their alcoholic drinks are a bit pricey for what you get. Their service is mediocre. They’ll take your order and come here and there for refills. I’ve had times where I was ready to leave and my waiter didn’t come back for a good 20 mins. They just kinda do whatever and seem to not care. I have to say out of all of that they’re delivery is probably the worst experience I’ve had with them. Just the other day I ordered and they forgot an item in my order. I called them to let them know and they said they would bring it to me. I waited over an hour and nothing. I called back and the guy was just whatever about the situation. Usually when a business messes up an order they make sure to make it up for you. The guy didn’t even take my information to check it or anything. I had to ask him he wanted it because I was sure they just pushed it aside. After that phone call I waited an hour and still nothing. They just don’t care. It’s such a shame that the service is so horrible because this place could do really well. The food is pretty good but the service makes you not want to go or order from them again. Such a disappointment.

Not sure why so many negative reviews — of course nobody reviews anything when things are good. The service was excellent from the minute I walked in. The server greeted me and even the bartender said hello. The server was extremely attentive to anybody who walked through the door and to all the customers sitting down. Not sure if it’s the same server as everybody keeps negatively reviewing about. I have no complaints in service at all last night. I ordered a turkey burger with waffle fries and a beer. Everything was great. The order came out fast, the burger was just right. The server and bartender offered recommendations when I was looking over the menu. Why do people only say things when things are bad ?!

I wish I had seen the reviews before, I don’t like writing bad reviews. I ordered a blue burger with bacon and fries. It was nothing special. If a place is called Flipsters… the burgers should have some style. It was dry and the bacon was so bland I thought they had forgot it. The fries and the pickle salvaged the passable meal. I SO wish I had remembered Five Guys was 2 blocks away. If the burger was at a school lunch it still would be sad.

Despite the other reviews i’ve seen, I was pleased with this restaurant. A group of 4 came here at 12:30am on a Friday night. Ordered a burger, boneless wings, nachos, and chili cheese fries. My bleu cheese burger was very good with a good amount of fries. The boneless wings were also the best wings next to buffalo wild wings. I would like to try a milkshake sometime. The place was decently empty for being a late night grub center. Would give it a second try.

Definitely rated the #1 terrible experience in Park Slope. If I could rate this restaurant with a 0, I most definitely would. I stopped coming here, after being a customer for several years(love their milkshakes… that was the weakness and soon BAREBURGER appeared. The food was not that great, but it was very convenient for me to travel to(and their kitchen is open late). I came here for a casual ladies celebration to celebrate a relaxing, low key birthday. We came in(tonight) on a Saturday evening, 10pm, and had a blonde waitress, heavier build, with large black glasses. We basically did not receive any table service. She highly recommended the pesto sauce for dipping, so we asked for that when we ordered. We did not receive the pesto sauce and waited a long time(we figured she would ask us how our food was). I kept saying, «it looks like she may be waiting on someone?» What was she doing? Stroking a mans arm. Then, three minutes later, our waitress was taking shots at the bar. Let me start by saying, you know that little shot glass, the traditional one? She was doing some sort of college jagger bomb shots(taking the time to chug her drink). We were paying customers, she’s handling money for the business, ANDITSHERJOBANDSHESDRINKING??? Someone in my party stood up to ask one of the kitchen staff for the pesto sauce(horrifying). We were almost finished with our entrees and guess what? Not one glass of water(keep in mind we had appetizers too). We needed to get up again to ask for the waters. Our waitress did not come back to our table. I asked someone else that worked there if out waitress went home, and he replied, «no she’s around» and I said, «busy taking shots?» And I was ignored. My salmon burger was overcooked. The patties from Trader Joes are a million times better. I asked for the fries on the side(not with the salmon burger because the birthday girl does not eat fish). The garlic pesto fries were not in a basket on the side for the table. My Guinness was flat, watered down. Were we asked if we wanted dessert? What service? Unprofessional staff. Sadly, most of the Unilocal reviews are on point. I have lived here my entire life and we have several burger bars in the neighborhood with excellent food, moderate prices, good drinks, and impeccable service. Go elsewhere.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. The place should be leveled and a real restaurant should put in it’s place. We went there for breakfast. We asked the waiter if they had half and half or cream for our coffee. They said they had milk. So we did not want the coffee. We ordered a full spread, I had to go to the donut place to get a coffee with half and half. When I returned the food was there and so was the bill. As we were eating the manager took the bill back and charged me $ 2 for a coffee I did not order. He stated that I could not drink the coffee from the diner. So I paid the fucker but guess what fuck flipster’s and the manager. I would not go back there if it was the last place on earth. Plus I had a burger there once and it had lots of gristle. It should be shut down, after the incident. I tell everyone to not go there. What petty bastards. Glad they went out of business

Flipster’s is kind of a mess of a place. I miss the Miracle Grill( — $ 10 burger + Hoegaarden deal, we hardly knew ye!) that used to be here. THEBURGERS: Good variety of slightly excessive burger creations. This is one of those burger joints where they hope to make their profit by charging for each add-on.(Then again, one of the add-ons is a fried egg; how can you resist?) The basic burger is fine, but don’t get the«Blue»: I took two bites of this thing dressed with bleu cheese and bacon, then realized that the entire inside of the patty was a PIT, FILLED with salty greasy bacon bits and cheese. Oh god it was horrible. I actually had to stop eating it, which is, you know, the opposite of the point of food. THEOTHERFOOD: Reasonably priced, but don’t waste your time on anything that isn’t a burger. The chicken quesadilla was mushy and falling apart, and the avocado and pico de gallo with which it shared the plate were, frankly, pathetic. They also have basic brunch items and an additional $ 10 unlimited mimosa/bloody mary option. Two girls sitting nearby(what the crap? why are 13-year-olds eating a $ 40 meal by themselves? Ugh, Park Slope, you’re at least the fourth circle of hell) commented that their Eggs Benedicts were«not the best, but okay.» THESERVICE: Messy, confusing, and confused. We seemed to have 10 different waiters, and it still took 15 minutes to order or pay. THEVERDICT: There are too many burger joints and/or pubs in Park Slope to bother coming back here.
