Well worth supporting! A select range of each varietal and region. They make it easy to zone in on something. I’m exciting to keep coming back.

Good location Would be a perfect location if it were actually walking distance from my house but then I’d be more of a wino than I already am. All the times I’ve come in the staff are all very knowledgable of the wine they sell. Very friendly and even though I did not like the wine that was recommended to me on my last visit I will not hold it against them because it tasted just as it was described. I love that you can make a profile that stores your purchase history which will make it easier for me to buy the wine I really love and not go through the hassle of trying to remember every time. There’s also a loyalty rewarded points system which I’m sure I will get to in no time!

They are great! They once even let me know that my boyfriend had already picked up wine, and what he bought. Knowledgable and not snobby :)

I have lived in the neighborhood for 16 years so I was very excited when this store opened and have been going here here since the first day. Great friendly staff, good wines. Has a true neighborhood feel to it. The owners are supportive of local artists and provide a good showcase for them. Some of their wines are more expensive than other local wine stores and some are cheaper. Either way — I have my customer discount which usually knocks a few dollars off the price. Having read the sarcastic little review from«Andre J» I’m happy that I won’t be running into him in here. .. .

So I walk past this place on my commute everyday and its always looks so inviting with the low light and the trendy art on the wall. The wine choices are wide in range and the staff is feverishly friendly. Today I was recommended by the sales attendant a Riesling and a red wine Borsao Garnacha, she also added my name and selection to their database so if I like it I can look it up in the future. She also recommended Android apps that can help me keep up with my wine selections, all this within walking distance from my Brownstone. And…wait for it… I paid with my American Express card and I didn’t get the side(is this really your card) eye… priceless. It’s official I’m in love. Come thru.

4⁄5 for average bottle price. Enough has been said about the convenience, cleanliness and curation — those things are great. My only grievance is the lack of bottles for $ 10 and below. I know that quality wine costs more, and I certainly will pay for nicer bottles at times. But when I first started going here about 2 years ago, there was always at least a few bottles for $ 10, $ 9, and even $ 8. Sometimes you just need a decent«pizza wine» and not looking to spend $ 13. But for any complaints about price, this is certainly the best wine shop around, especially compared with the sketchy liquor stores in this hood.

Isn’t it funny how long-lasting, healthy relationships happen? May take a few awkward moments, awkward conversations, and awkward bottles – yes, wine is always involved – before you learn to appreciate the important stuff: –Good wine in close proximity to your house finally, and a clean, comfortable, and rather pleasant environment to buy a bottle on your way home. By comfortable I mean free of bullet proof glass and the crazies that are the reasons for the bullet proof glass, as in every liquor store in the neighborhood. –Good sales reps most of which are wine experts, easy to talk to, and make excellent recommendations. I just wish that this boutique wine shop would have more tastings and appropriately advertise them.

There’s a wine store off the Jefferson Ave. L train stop that has a vast selection — probably two or three times bigger than this place — with plenty of solid wines in the $ 12 range. You might think that’s an unfair comparison, but I see it as something to aspire to. It can be done. For a neighborhood wine store, Breukelen Cellars is long on pretense and just frustratingly marked up. If they were able to sell their everyday wines for $ 3 cheaper than what they generally ask, I might buy there more often. Lower your callous, gentrification-worthy prices: This neighborhood isn’t quite on that level yet, and thank goodness for that. Give me a deal and win my loyalty. You can do better. And finally: You are not an art gallery!

This used to be my go-to wine spot when I lived in Brooklyn. Was back a few weeks ago and found myself shopping at Breukelen Cellars and realized I needed to share the love on Unilocal. Not only is the staff fantastic; they actually know what they are selling you, but also take into consideration whatever price point you are looking to stay within. It also helps that the selection lacks poor quality wines, so whatever you end up choosing, you can be sure you’re getting something tasty and delicious. If only I could find Breukelen Cellars out in LA, I’d be set!

Great addition to the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and accommodating. One night they were technically closed but opened the door for me anyway so I could grab a bottle. Yes, it was one of those days… anyway, love this place, and will definitely be back.

Like all the other Unilocalers have shared, Breukelen Cellars is a great wine shop in our neighborhood of Bed Stuy. Being a very amateur wine somalier like myself(2 Buck Chuck — what what!), the staff threw me no shade for my limited knowledge on wine. They were super helpful in helping me narrow down my choices and gave me great recommendations based on the flavors I liked. Speaking of that, if you’re a frequent shopper or live in the neighborhood, they can put you in their database to keep a record of your previous purchases to help guide you on what to pick on your next visit. Their later opening hours are great for picking up a bottle to take home after you’ve already had 2 – 3 glasses from your after work event — not that I know from personal experience or anything…

Helpful staff. Reasonably priced wine for those on a budget. And as an added bonus they have free wine tastings on Thursdays.

I’m so glad this place is on my block. Great selection and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Would be even better if they were slightly more knowledgable of wine but, it’s all good. We’ll learn together. I wish they carried my Chocolate Shop wine but it gives me an excuse to try their other varieties. I don’t mind spending t money ere one bit.

I’m loving Bed-Stuy lately due to the influx of these small, local spots. This is not my first time at Breukelen Cellars and it won’t be my last. Definitely a change from the local liquor stores that only sell Yellow Tail as a wine option; good for those that know nothing about wine(I guess) but bad for those that know(slightly) better. I’m no expert but I know decent wine when I taste it. Each time I’ve gone, the sales person has been super helpful. Can’t say I’ve always agreed with their suggestions, but they’ve made enough good recommendations to keep me coming back. The bottle of red and white I picked up on this visit were pretty good. I will be sure to write down the names so I can re-stock. I heart this place. Will definitely go back when my bottles run dry.

My bf and I stop by there nearly every week. They are responsible for me former favorite Sauvignon Blanc(Tablelands), but also my CURRENT favorite, which is a brand I can’t remember but I have the bottle saved on top of my fridge. I found my former and current favorite wines by asking the staff for a selection. They are always eager and super helpful and, as you can tell, their suggestions are spot on. They are also super friendly. They have tastings often, post work by local artists and flyers for local events. As a musician, I even dropped some of my cards by. They have a points card where after a certain point, you get $ 5 off, which is great, since the wines are all pretty moderately prices, around $ 12 – 25. I didn’t even join right when I first started going and I’m already close to the $ 5 discount. Anyway, when you’re looking for a nicer wine than the El Gato Negro at the liquor store(not knocking it, since it’s decent for a $ 5 wine), then this is ALWAYS the choice in the area. :)
