There is no doubt the food is great. Fresh ingredients. Friendly personnel. What I don’t like is the size of Sushimi Deluxe — really small and getting smaller. Honestly! Comparing to other joints it’s tiny, just not enough fish for $ 21 they ask.

ok place in the area. Its a husband and wife team; she takes the orders and he puts the plates together. I can’t say, it’s good, but there is one thing that absolutely annoys me about this place: They are cheap operators. You’ll notice only one line of overhead lights are on at dinnertime. They always have all the other lights closed; you can’t see what you’re eating, especially at night. During the day, when sunlight is coming through the windows, there are NO lights on at all. She keeps the shades nearly all the way down, because the windows are frequently dirty. Also, there is never, ever, any ice in the drinking water. Aside from that, place is ok… also, the whiteboard with the specials on is never changed… you’ll find the«Christmas Roll» up there year round. Santa likes the place a lot, I guess.

Good for lunch since its close to a friend’s place. I had take out lunch box, the salmon teriyaki. It was good salmon but I feel like it wasn’t fresh which meant it’s not the sushi grade kind but that’s okay since it’s cooked. The box came with soup or salad, two shumai, two spring rolls, rice and 6 piece of avocado and fake crab meat sushi roll. It’s good and filling but I didn’t like the sushi rolls breaking apart so easily. I barely touched it and the roll unraveled itself. Maybe it was because its made for a lunch box but I would at least expect most of them to hold together in one piece. I’ll try it again and maybe dinner would present better rolls. Until then I can only rate it as a 3 star kind of place. Not bad but not necessarily better than other places.

The restaurant might not look great on the outside with its out-of-the-way location and lack of a good sign. However, the sushi in this place is fresh and delicious. They have very good lunch specials, perfect for a break from the nearby pier. The staff is friendly and courteous and will refill your tea when it’s just half full. You can get a tasty and filling lunch here for less than 20 dollars. I’ve been to nearby sushi places(Inaka, Ichigo, Fushimi) and I prefer this over all the others.

I love sushi because of them. Quick delivery and amazing food. Very quiet neighborhood. If you walk a little there is a nice pier nearby for a good walk.

We live walking distant to this restaurant. Never had a bad meal here. The staff are friendly and food always fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Stopped by for lunch around 1:30PM on a saturday and restaurant was empty. We were thinking in our heads that it might not be a good sign but we still decided to eat here because there were no other restaurants close by and we were tired. We had their agedashi tofu, chicken teriyaki lunch box, the lunch special rolls of spicy tuna roll, salmon tempura, and the eel roll with avocado. The tofu was pretty good but the sauce it came with didn’t taste as good as some of the other places I have been to. The lunch box was good for the price. Included a lot of items like shumai, spring rolls california roll and white rice. The chicken was tasty and not dry. The california roll was better than average and fresh. The special rolls all came out ok and was really fresh. The salads that came with our entrée was a generous portion with a proportional amount of dressing. Hate it when other places give you so little dressing that when you are halfway through the salad and no dressing is left. This small little sushi restaurant exceeded our expectations. Service was good and food quality is good for the price you are paying.

This restaurant is seriously one of those establishments you would never think of going to, but it is truly great! It is clean which is big for a sushi place and the delivery is nice and quick. Moreover, it is fresh and delicious! I highly recommend!

This restaurant is a diamond in the rough due to the location. But for where its at, it’s great if your stopping by along the way to great views by the pier, parks or if you’re biking through the neighborhood. As a local, I’ve been here for years and I’m never disappointed. Food is always fresh when ordering sushi. They have a wide selection to choose from on a small restaurant. They have a few signature rolls I personally love(Kenny special is one). Very clean and friendly staff, and always very accommodating. The décor is nice and easy. Very comforting when dining in. They serve beer, hot or cold sake as well. Personally, my family and I leave happy every time we dine in. I highly recommend this place.

This place is just beautiful. I’ll becoming here again tomorrow, it’s very calming and convenient since it’s near the piers. This place is very quiet too, it’s pretty clean, and food is reasonably priced. I’d love to travel out here more, but it’s kind of far for me. P. S. the lady upfront is very, very, very nice. Don’t ever be afraid to talk to her.

I was lucky enough to discover this small sushi spot when I moved to the neighborhood. The food is delicious and the sushi is always fresh and high quality. Although they dont have the issual 3 page menu of specialty sushi rolls, what they do have is enough to satisfy any sushi lover.

I haven’t been to this sushi spot for years, sort of just fell off the map for me. It wasn’t until recently that a friend suggested coming here for lunch that I was reminded of this place. The place was mostly empty so I imagine much of their business is pick up or delivery. My friends and I had lunch here on a Sat. afternoon, only table there… like having a restaurant all to ourselves. Anyway, ordered some rolls, udon and soba. Everything was so fresh and they don’t skimp out on ingredients! I had a Philadelphia roll and a spicy salmon roll(not really spicy), both good! My friends enjoyed their rolls, udon and soba as well. The food was so fresh that I ordered from here a couple days later, I will be back for sure!

This is the best neighborhood sushi place I’ve ever been too, and I’ve lived in alot of neighborhoods. Sushi is tasty, fresh, and there’s a good variety of options. I’ve had a bunch of rolls, all great. I recommend this place to everyone in the Ridge.

4 ½ Been here several times– always very quiet. Super easy to get a easy– never a wait. So strange for a place so fresh and so good. Prices are reasonable esp for some seriously fresh fish. Love the crew that works here. Miso soup and rock shrimp are good apps to start with. Yum yum. Their ice cream is also good. After dinner, go for a walk and check out the gorgeous views of Verrazano and the city.

This place is a gem… it’s quiet and it’s out of my area. Their sushi is very fresh. It’s a small restaurant but I love how everytime I go there, it’s either one or two tables and it’s peaceful! I don’t have to worry about bouncing into a group of people I know from my area then it becomes a party. I like quietness sometimes to enjoy my meal. My favorite roll is the Kenny Roll and the Volcano Roll. The only thing about the area where this restaurant is located, that the parking sucks.

I have never eaten in the restaurant, but I get take-out a lot. The delivery is always super fast and the sushi is always fresh and delicious… the miso is the BEST I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!

Superior sushi joint in Bay Ridge. The sushi here is presented with the philosophy that if the fish is very fresh, it can be served slightly closer to room-temperature– so as to offer more flavor. Other places serve their sushi colder because they’re not providing as fresh ingredients as they possibly can. Anyway, you have to be a true fan of sushi to handle this more professional treatment of the dishes. Other: portions are large; prices are fair; service is attentive; décor and location are great. Intimate and romantic dining. Excellent sake as well. And, they deliver.

Is it weird to go into a sushi restaurant and just order sake? It might be, but the staff were very courteous about our just sitting down and ordering a bottle of cold sake to share. Hey, I wasn’t hungry, but after walking around Brooklyn, I wanted a cold drink! The prices were quite reasonable. It wasn’t busy in the afternoon, but was quite relaxing and pleasant. Décor-wise, it looks like exactly what you’d expect a Japanese restaurant to look like. In a more bustling neighborhood, it might not stick out, but there aren’t that many places to go right around here, so it’s nice that it’s there!
