Atlas Meat Market

Needed a brisket for Passover. Called em up, let them know how much I needed (8lbs of the flat). Came in a day late and they still had the brisket, ready to be trimmed to my specifications. Beautifully marbled, great price, quick service and very accommodating. I never thought I’d be a guy with a butcher, you know the one you refer to as «my butcher» but I’m pretty sure Atlas will be it. Oh, and the brisket was a big hit.

Amazing place! Excellent selection of meats and the staff really is friendly and kind. They treat you like family! I usually buy poultry and once asked them to marinate some chicken kebabs for me. It was unbelievable. The flavor and seasoning made the dish so delicious! They marinated and vac sealed for me. They even told me how long to marinate it for before cooking. Anything you ask for if they dont have will make for you (I asked for ground turkey and they grinded it up for me right there). There’s a key food and an Italian pork store nearby but they can’t possibly compare with this place. There are so few butchers left and this place is a gem!

After being diagnosed with early onset Heart Disease I gave up red meat. That was almost 9 years ago. Since then I have had cravings for steak, and decided that if I am going to eat steak it better be only the best. Well, my mother always shopped at a butcher for meat, so, knowing how supermarket meat is always inferior, I walked into Atlas Meat Market. Their meat is the best! Let me repeat, THE BEST!!!
I went to a potluck dinner party and brought 12 filet mignons with me. A little salt, put on the grill, meat heaven. The people are still talking about how good the meat was.
Andre, the owner, and Laura, who works the register, always greet me like family, and even though I now have to travel by subway to them,)since they moved from 18^th Ave, walking distance), I will not go anywhere else.
I promise you will not be sorry. Oh, and just so you know, I also bought some sirloin steak, which was just as tender as the filet mignon!

I usually go to Imperial Meats on Brighton, but since this store has opened, I have been cheating on my usual butcher shop with Atlas Meat Market.
The meat is fresh and quality!
You want ground meat? They’ll grind it, and they’ll even mix it for you.
They have a great choice of beef. Also cut to however size or weight you want.
The guys in there are friendly, accommodating and know what’s what in meat.
I am very happy to have this store open in the neighborhood.

Last Saturday I visited Atlas Meat Market’s new location. The new store is smaller than the one was on 18^th Avenue but the meat selection and quality have not changed… impressive! They no longer carry cheese because their new neighbor does which I thought was thoughtful of them… but I miss the lower prices for cheese at Atlas’s!
Service at this market is outstanding. In fact they have increased their staff which was appreciated as it was only their second day open and the store was already full of customers! The people at the market speak English, Russian and Spanish but since you are reading this review, you speak English and probably don’t care!
I also miss Atlas Meat Market not being located close to where I live, but it is easy to see that their change of venue has already paid dividends in terms of the number of walk in customers. And for their quality and service, I’ll venture down the F train a few more stations!
