As the conventional wisdom goes, beware of the movers, contractors, and mortgage brokers! That wisdom had been challenged on multiple occasions by the professionals at the New York Mortgage Exchange. My husband and I got our first mortgage about 12 years ago with the guidance of the principal of the business; he educated us regarding various mortgage possibilities without pushing us one way or the other, at that time we decided to opt for an adjustable mortgage. Again, Eugene’s advice took into account our age, earning projections, future family additions (lol, we didn’t have children at the time), historical interest rates, and many other factors that we didn’t even think about ourselves. Our closing was flawless and an absolute pleasure, but we were completely blown away when a few weeks AFTER the closing we received a refund from New York Mortgage Exchange — that was completely unexpected and I can honestly say I don’t think there’s another bank or a broker who would refund anything when a client is not expecting anything.
Since that time, we have turned to New York Mortgage Exchange with questions about our potential needs and were always treated as VIPs although our deals either fell through or other circumstances dictated us to get financing through a different institution. Not even once, were we made feel uncomfortable for doing that.
