It’s been nearly two months since my initial review of Alvic. At that time there existed enough grumblings and displeasure over Alvic by so many in my building that the hyped-up, knee-jerk reaction was to drop them like hot charcoal on bare hands. But I was reluctant. I believe in giving people second chances, which many in this shallow world tend to never consider. Nevertheless, I was made to look like a fool for even thinking for even a fleeting moment about giving Alvic a second chance. Sure, they have the resources to take on the onus of running a residential building, especially one as small as the one I reside in. However, over the past two months they continued, despite all the cheap talk of stepping up to the plate and doing better, to devolve into lazy, incompetent slouches with no regard for professionalism. I should’ve agreed with the majority of the residents right from the onset to get out of the contract with them. I can’t believe I’m stuck having to pay a management fee every month on a company that has the work ethic of a crippled ant. What a disaster… what a shame… what a disgrace. If you’re seriously looking for a management company to successfully operate your building, then look further, search for another company and hope the reviews are more inspiring and promising.

stay away… far away they will destroy your property and life… they are rude and do not care. please stay away from this company. my building has biolation after violation that needs to be removed and they will not do it. they send shady contractors that are unlicensed to repair my roof and it is still leaking. they are the worst company is nyc.

After a lengthy relationship with a property manager that was full of mystery and deceit, Alvic Management was indeed a breath of fresh air. Jorge Rodriquez is a hands on property manager who takes in consideration the needs of the tenant and the request of the landlord. My living situation was a nightmare and Mr. Rodriquez came in onsite with a clipboard and pen, ready to assess what was needed ASAP. He made good on all he stated and utilized the best of craftmen who had years of experience under their belt and were licensed. Never once has he had someone handle a matter that he did not stay on top of to make sure the job was done and that it was done properly. Mr. Rodriquez believes in the resolving matters before they turn into a disaster and will even listen to your concerns if you feel you can not get a resolution from the landlord. Mr. Rodriquez is fair and extremely professional. My family and I can finally have some peace and restful nights, knowing Jorge Rodriquez is aboard and a friend to all tenants. I highly recommend him to handle any property management that requires to be reconstructed, obtain order, and compliance. Thank you, Alvic Management.

We agree with the previous reviewer. I’ve talked with a couple other people at Alvic who do not seem quite so bad, but Barry has been a complete bully. Our whole building received these vague, poorly-copied letters telling us to schedule«preventative maintenance» or else, with no explanation of what this maintenance was. We forgot about it – you know, despite the letter’s thorough explanation and pleasant tone – and a month later, a mysterious extra charge appeared on our account, again, with no explanation. When I called to ask about it, I talked with another guy who said he’d contact Barry and ask him to call me a.s.a.p. Barry never even bothered calling *him* back, much less us. Then we started receiving threatening emails from Barry about this«preventative maintenance inspection». This time, after three exchanges asking for information, he finally said it was about heat and water, but he also said«the choice is yours, not mine» as to whether we were fined. Huh? Since we’re not made of money and he was threatening us, we scheduled the appointment, but man, this guy is a HUGE bully. He knows people in our building can’t stand him, and we’ve even told him why – because he sounds like a bully! – but instead of changing his approach, he ups his threats. I wish so much we had our old management company back. These people are AWFUL.
