really good burger but way too small and entirely overpriced
i am borderline insulted what the brooklyn restaurants pass as a serving then charge your pants off.
this is a prime example

Sooooo… not really sure how to rate this place other than mostly terrific which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. Basically everything was going great until (I was under the assumption that he was a bartender) I asked the barback (Nobile I think his name was) for a glass of what I like to call sexy water (alphaville is one of my local haunts so i’m pretty sure they know what to serve me when I walk in that mothafucker). So I ask him for it which involves cranberry and seltzer and he tells me that i should try grapefruit instead because grapefruit is a better fruit, and I explain that my stomach can’t handle the acidity which leads him to explain how cranberry is actually more likely to put you at risk for stomach pains and acid reflux and then proceeds to actually pull out a roll of pepto bismol at which point I explain that i’m more of a rolaids guy (better corporate ethos) and he goes on to tell me how you’re less at risk to develop kidney stones using pepto bismol considering it has more than one use AT WHICH POINT I SAY CAN I PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. PLEASE. HAVE THE GODDAMN SEXY WATER WITH CRANBERRY BECAUSE THAT’S HOW I LIKE MY SEXY WATER AND CRANBERRY IS MORE AGREEABLE WITH MY STOMACH. And… well, after that we shared a cigarette and I can say if it was anyone else I might have knocked a star off, but this Nobile guy, real nice guy. I will say though that over at post no bills there’s a bartender by the name of saleem who looks like he could be related to Nobile but this guys real sexy not conventionally attractive like Nobile (not that there’s anything wrong with that). When in Bushwick and you want an intimate grunge experience… Alphaville. Great vibe, simple but tasty bar menu. Real people, good music.

Beer is $ 6 and served in a plastic cup
Bar tenders ignored us for like 20 minutes and were pretty rude
Scene was ridiculous… Posh «punks» and stylized «goths»
Most people were rude af…
Kind of vibe where everyone thinks they are too cool to have a conversation
Everyone looked sad and were trying to get laid while maintaining their aesthetic

We went outside to smoke a cig with a beer can we bought at the bar and the bouncer was giving us a hard time, pretty much yelling at us, until he realized his mistake and let us back in while growling. Lol this place.

Ugh go somewhere else. This bar hurts my soul. Please stop the mediocrity.
Saturday night filled with the copies of the same person. Getting shoved around and excuse-​me, excuse-​me to death — if anyone is polite to say even that.
$ 12 to get to the music show. Bleh. No thanks.
$ 6 mixed drinks in what is in contention for the tiniest cup ever made. I like to pretend that I am a giant and the drink is actually huge. Is there alcohol in this? Maybe I actually ordered giant ice cubes with water, I’m not sure.

I’ve been here a handful of times. Most have been not great. A couple were OK/​good as the bartender was nice. Someone once literally screamed at me and my friend to get out when we weren’t even warned a first time. Also, I just went there to order food which apparently they should be serving till 3 AM according to their website but they decided to stop early tonight as its slow. I get it but I was referring to online resources aka your website. Could have offered my anything but nothing considering i was also waiting almost 10 minutes to be said hello to at a not so busy bar.

wow what a small burger basically unbelievable. a slider really. did not satisfy my hunger in the slightest. could not belief what meager portions it was. wildly unbelievable. does this establishment have respect for the food they are serving?

I won’t be able to rave enough about nugz in this review. This bar sells chicken nuggets called nugz. There are now multiple contexts in my life where I can purchase and subsequently enjoy nugz. Thank you, ALPHAVILLE, for bringing this new and wonderful category of pleasure into my life. Always good tunes playing at the bar or being performed in the venue. Become a patron of this establishment.

I love alphaville. I’ve only had delivery but it’s very good and the quality is quite consistent. I like the buffalo nugs with fries. I’ve never dined in before, but the delivery comes quickly. They don’t have sodas for delivery though, which is weird. Also they have a somewhat limited delivery menu.

Got delivery from here. Wow like wow. The curry cauliflower thing = crazy good. Liked the guacamole a lot too.

We just wanted to grab a burger and hang out. But it took them almost an hour to bring the food. The burgers were quite small and didn’t taste great. So if you are looking for food, this is not the place to go.

Really into this place. I saw my boyfriend’s band (and a bunch of other bands) play here and it was nice. The stage area in the back is really separated from the bar, which is nice. So if you’re not there for the band, it’s still easy to grab some food and drink at the bar and still hang with your friends. Pretty big space inside and has a laid-​back atmosphere. I didn’t eat the food but my friends did and it looked really good — a bit pricey, but a nice food and drink selection.

Nachos were fine. Crowd was a little much. I get it– you move to Brooklyn in the winter and now that it’s summer you can show off your various geometric shaped stick n pokes on your upper arm and saunter around with your friends but I just rather eat a pint of ice cream in my bed than bear witness to this on the regular.

Pros: Pretty decent food, some halfway decent bands play here
Cons: Slow service, generally noisy atmosphere
It’s a fine place to listen to a few indie rock bands in the neighborhood, but it isn’t a remarkable venue.

Still looks wonderful inside but I’ve dropped a star because:
* I tried the food, it was just ok not great, and took ages (~45 minutes) to come
* I can understand why their neighbors are hostile, there’s a lot of people milling about noisily outside

Actually never write reviews about places because I feel like Unilocal app is reserved for people who hate their service, but. My experience here was dope. I ordered a Manhattan from Kate and it was one of the best manhattans in Brooklyn. Also their queso. Let’s talk about it.
Just come here, have fun. Ask for the bartender by name and you’ll have a better time.

Generally overpriced — no draft beers and 6 bucks for a beer can. Cash only.
Also, the staff is not very friendly. The food is decent, but overall an overpriced joint for the local hipsters.
One star for the fact they have a venue in the back.

Nice Bushwick bar, great music, friendly bar tenders. I love the décor and the wooden bar.
A little pricey but not out of the norm for bars of similar style in the area.
I can’t come here and drop 6 bucks on canned beer all the time but I will put it into my rotation and I do want to try the food!
I can’t wait til the summer when the patio-​ish area in the front can be utilized.

wanted to update my original review to say that they opened more bathrooms downstairs! And they have food now. The burger is good, but maybe a buck or two overpriced. Can’t wait for the fireplace I’ve heard rumors about!

I’m a local and I really like this place. The ambience is fantastic. You sort of get lost just sitting there after two or three of the «$ 6 beer & a shot» specials, whilst listening to the Talking Heads for two hours. The staff are super nice and genuinely concerned about your experience, which one wouldn’t expect at a quote-​unquote dive bar. It’s something they should be proud of.
I will say that I was disappointed to learn that their kitchen was closed for a brief period. My first drink was on the house though for the inconvenience… whilst the bar tender slurped away his dinner behind the bar, in front of customers.
This one little incident couldn’t be more than a raindrop in the ocean and won’t keep me from coming back — most likely multiple times a week!
