Get the bambaloni with Nutella. Actually, get two because you will love the first one so much! Nice staff, very casual place. No outdoor seating, a few tables inside. More of a grab and go place.

This is the place-to-go for a real Italian experience! I went for a coffe and pastry after dropping my kid at school and I was so happy I stopped by! Coffe is the best around and I had an apple turnover that was so tasty

Great neighborhood café with a variety of house made pastries. The staff is pleasant and boasts traditional Italian goodies. Try the bombolone, the best in NY.

I treat myself sometimes after CrossFit and get a large black coffee and a fresh tasty treat. Each time the coffee is super hot and fresh … Each time the tasty treat gets devoured over the sink as soon I walk in the apartment. I’m not sure if this is French, Italian or what. But it’s one of my guilty pleasures and I’m psyched they’re on my way home from working out.

Honestly mistified. Nothing tastes good here. Don’t bother coming because you’ll leave disappointed — unless you just need a cheap pastry and some coffee. Even then…

You wish this was your local bakery, but it’s probably not. For sandwiches, I highly recommend swapping the bagel for the ciabatta.

Stuck on bedrest quite pregnant and struck by a rare craving for sweets I ordered lunch delivery from here with some pastries. Damn! I was really impressed. I’ve ordered at least six times now. The gnocchi had texture and depth of flavor — so many other places serve gnocchi as bland as baby food — this place is really good. The fruit tarts and cookies and bombolone are super fresh(like cream filled donut puffs) and yummy. The iced mocha is intense and powered by good strong espresso and will give you a crazy good caffeine buzz. I hate watery coffee — this is serious good fuel that could give you insomnia. The focaccia is yummy — at least order some as a side if you don’t get a sandwich. Great chicken soup but it consistently melts the paper tub it comes in. Eat it fast or put it in a bowl before the container dissolves.

Swung by for my croissant fix. I’ve read good things about the nutella based pastries but i’m a traditional kind of girl. The croissant was really decent, actually. I’d say it’s right up there with the croissants from Ceci Cela and Balthazar. It’s got a chewy consistency on the inside and isn’t terribly flakey which I prefer. The butter they use is definitely on the salty side. It’s on the whole a very savory croissant that would work perfectly with some egg + bacon – no complaints here!

The best café in Williamsburg hands down. The owner Alberto is super friendly and fun to talk to. Every item on the menu is amazing and the coffee has never let me down once(pun intended). Try the fruit tarts, they’re the most amazing thing you will ever taste. Keep up the great work

You can search on the net and Unilocal for the best bakeries in Williamsburg or Bushwick, and you’ll probably find a very interesting list of must go places. But then you walk on the street and, like it often happens, you bump into a place that looks the kind of you’re looking for. That happens to me. I was walking on Grand st when I saw a very nice yellow old New York building, and then A Roma. As I entered the store I saw a very attractive display with: krapfen(that’s how we call them in Italy, here I believe bomboloni) filled with custard(crema pasticcera) or Nutella; croissants; different kind of Italian cookies like marbles; slices of cheesecake, pastiera napoletana and many other desserts that were just beautiful to see. I got a box with a slice of cheesecake, a krapfen and some assorted italian cookies. The cheesecake: awesome, one of the best I have tried so far. Fresh, delicate, with a raspberry on top. High level pastry. The krapfen: awesome as well, a very good dough and fresh filling of custard. I had it for breakfast with coffee… hmmm! The chocolate and coffee cookies(pasta frolla): in one word, delicious. 4, 50 $ for a good slice of cheesecake is really honest, as well as the prize of krapfen and other pastries. The guy behind the counter, Italian, nice and welcoming, takes time to explain to you about the shop and chat a little bit. Very happy to have bumped in this REAL Italian pastry shop, Italian owned and run, where they also make sandwiches and soups, everything for a good lunch. And if they are as good as the pastries … Recommended! #Gem#in#williamsburg##

I get breakfast at A-Roma every week-end. Yesterday for the first time I also had lunch with friends and I have to say that the pasta was great! Alberto, the owner, is very kind and professional.

If old, microwaved coffee and stale muffins are your thing, then this is the place for you! I’m not in the habit of leaving negative reviews, however, I feel that this shop owner needs to hear some for his/her own good! In a place like Williamsburg where there are artisanal cafes on almost every corner, what are you thinking? It’s not even like its cheap! $ 6 for a small coffee and muffin that went in the garbage is expensive. I did complain to the girl working that my coffee was cold/old and she said she could«heat» it with the cappuccino maker. She could have brewed a new pot or offered an alternative at that point, but doesn’t matter much. I would suffer through caffeine withdrawal before going back.
