Had lunch at this truck today in Watertown. The line moved slower than every other truck line at Arsenal Mall. After a 10 minute wait, I placed my order: Greek salad with grilled chicken. I waited at least 20 minutes for my order while my dining companions received and finished their meals from other trucks. At least 4 people who ordered after me got their food first. They must have missed my order as salad is fairly simple to throw together. The icing on the cake was when one of the employees got off the truck with her pack of cigarettes in hand to go smoke, despite the line of customers waiting. In the end, my salad sucked. Room temperature, dry chicken breast chunks in a lacklustre marinade. Boo.

Place — Food Trucks Watertown event I’d like to comment on the food at this place as I chose it out of the 10 or so trucks in attendance and was excited. However, after less than 90 minutes of a four hour event, they were already running out of food and I couldn’t get any. Better yet, as they ran out of items, they were not modifying their menu so you only found this out after waiting 10+ minutes in line. They should be embarrassed. What type of competence do you need to bring enough food to last at least through the first half of an event. It wasn’t a super-packed event either. Busy… but not packed or crawling with people and they were splitting the people in attendance with a large number of trucks with longer lines. If you get food and it is good, that’s great… but they suck at running a business and the operations of their truck.

Great Greek option on BU campus. Their falafels are awesome! Fresh ingredients. Never too long of a line and definitely worth the wait.

Delicious Greek food under $ 10 :) I tried this Greek truck twice so far. My first time I had the lamb gyro and falafels; they both were delicious. The lamb was juicy, and tasted very good. The pita, tzatziki sauce and other ingredients were just as they were supposed to be. Falafel was great as well, though I will ask for a little salt in my next falafel order. In my second go I tried the pork souvlaki. Again, a superb lunch under $ 10. I am looking forward to try the spinach pie and pita chips soon. I definitely recommend this place. Phil, the owner, is a very friendly person as well. p. s.: It is on Comm. Ave. and St. Mary’s on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Renula’s food truck came to our office and it was a big disappointment. Two main issues: The food took forever and it was terrible quality. The falafel were chewy and greasy. The salad dressing was not good either.

Renula’s food truck visited my office for the first time today. At least a dozen people were waiting for their orders when I made mine. It took over 20 minutes for my falafel side to come out. Many people waited much longer. I wouldn’t mind that very much if the food was good. Unfortunately, it was over fried, stuck together, and tasted just awful. Most of my coworkers complained afterwards that the gyros that they had received were bad.

The Lamb gyro is very good. It is made with perfectly cooked lamb meat that is juicy and tender(not greasy).

Just had the most delicious lunch from Phil! The spinach pie is amazing. And the lamb gyro is to die for. Can’t wait to have it again:) Find his location. Definitely worth it.

Gyro: Light, fluffy pita bread, perfectly seasoned, tender, rich lamb, mild-flavored yet yummy tzatziki. I’ll be back for this good stuff!

Today I stood in the freezing cold waiting for my surf and turf(shrimp and lamb) gyro and it was worth every minute of it. I wish I got two, but the side of falafel was a great decision on my part too :) The lady working there was super nice and I will definitely go back and get another one when I see it roll up on St. mary’s street again. Did I mention the lamb was to die for???

I had some meat gyros here on my way to and back from meetings down Comm Ave. It’s definitely a guilt free version of gyro — it’s a small sandwich, light on the tzatziki, but the flip side is that there isn’t a whole lot of flavor. Also, not a big fan of their pita bread, either. The meat is tasty and never dried out. There just was not a lot of it. Bigger appetites should probably consider supplementing a sammie with a side or just get two. Renula’s is fine if you have a craving for Greek but need to watch your intake. To throw caution into the wind and get a really fantastic, greasy, huge gyro sandwich, walk less than a block down to University Grill & Pizza to get your fix.

truly excellent falafel is hard to come by– but Renula’s has it DOWN! Best falafel short of Oleana’s and even then– I’m not so sure it doesn’t take the prize. the cashiers are ALWAYS super nice and informative– and their prices are just right. formerly a plain white truck– Renula’s finally got some graphics– which will hopefully make the less adventurous food-truck-diners less wary… because this truck makes some delicious food!

Finally got around to trying the food cart they have set up across from BU(at the corner of Comm Ave and St. Mary’s, next to the Radioshack, for anyone who is looking). I had the gyro, and yum. I worked in Greece for a summer many, many years ago and this brought me right back. Filled just right(so it might look small because it’s not grossly overstuffed) with a perfect mix of lettuce, tomato, onion, and tatziki. The lamb was really flavorful, and the pita itself was heavenly — warm, tender, charred just enough. Very filling. The owner is nice, and I can’t wait to go back and try their other offerings!

I ate at Renula’s at the BU food truck spot on St. Mary’s. Despite being a little disorganized in taking and delivering orders, the service was very good and they went out of their way to make up for any mistakes. The food was excellent; I had the pastitio, which is like a Greek lasagna. I’ll be returning and I definitely want to try the grilled meat. They had unfortunately run out of the lamb when I was there.

I ate at Renula’s for the first time last week and had the pork souvlaki(at a Greek place! I didn’t even know pork souvlaki existed!). So delicious, quick, and cheap. Great folks behind the cart, too — had a nice chat with Phil, the owner! I’m thrilled this is around the corner from my office, and I expect to eat here many times to come.
