Sometimes I just wanna have a beer and not go all the way into the city to do so. I came here over the summer because I saw how open it was an thought it would be cool. Had a turkey burger(not impressed) and a couple of beers. The ambiance was pretty laid back, everyone coming out of work and just having a drink. The next time I came was because Mott Haven Bar and Grill was annoyingly packed and I didn’t want to go into the city. It was just me and my friend and like 2 other people there, which was weird to me because it was 9pm on a Friday night. Its not the happening place to be but I have nothing bad to say about it. I think it has a lot of potential.

This is my first time here. I was invited to an Aquarius Takeover party. Of course I went because I like to party. It’s located in whats now called SOBO, a great location off the highway and minutes from Manhattan. The parking is hard because it’s an up and coming area and across the street from Club Miami. Wish 37 is a nice quaint bar/lounge that’s has a full bar, nice appetizers and hookahs. The place was pretty packed but movable. It was hard to get a drink because the barmaids seemed overwhelmed with the requests. The music was definitely on point with some nice old skool hip hop/R&B. $ 10 cover and $ 11 drinks. I’ve seen worse. I really enjoyed myself but it WAS a planned birthday party. One of the girls I was with said its pretty live every weekend. I will have to drop in on an off weekend to see how it is normally.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!(for private events) I arrived at this very lovely looking corner restaurant for my dear friends wedding last week Saturday, and straightaway, I see the groom in the kitchen of the restaurant looking severely stressed out. I walk up to him, ask«What’s wrong?», and his reply was two words: «The owner.» So I asked the groom what needed to be handled, I’ll get it taken care of. First issue: Chairs, not enough put out. So I walk up to the owner, introduced myself as a good friend of the groom, and inquired about more chairs. He IMMEDIATELY caught an attitude and said: «The spare chairs are in the cellar.» and looked at me like that’s the end of the matter. HELLO??? LET’S PLEASEGOANDGETTHECHAIRS, SIR! And that’s how the day started. I went through a tug and war session with this guy with every request, like he was doing this for free! To own a restaurant in NYC, you have to be MORECUSTOMERFRIENDLY, I have no idea how this guy has stayed in business for the 3 years he said he’s been there. There is ABSOLUTELYNOWAY I would recommend any of my friends to dine there, just based on the owner’s rudeness. Oh, and they have hand written signs taped up along the bar that read«no tabs allowed, pay as you go». This place is just ghetto in vibe beyond belief, to be such a nice looking place at outward appearance.

Wolf in Sheeps Clothing! I wish there were negative rating. Upon first look you think this place is awesome. Cute wood paneled spot nestled in a corner in a trendy south Bronx Location. If you are going in for a quick drink, then you may be ok here. Even then, take a stroll down to El Habanero or The Clock Bar. If you are planning on throwing an event, dont waste your money! Im sure this place gets ZERO repeat business from people renting for events. I threw an event there recently. Upon my first meeting with the owner we agreed on the particulars and a price. Silly me to think that everyone has integrity and a spine, because unless you have a team of hungry lawyers there to form a contract, you will get screwed the day of your event, at which point you can do nothing about it. His word isn’t worth the cheap plastic foam plates my guest were served on. The menu we planned and agreed on was grossly unadhered to day of my event. I refuse to waste any of my time on this. Needless to say PLEASEDONTBOOKANEVENTHERE!!! There are plenty other place to spend your money that practice open and honest business.

This location has great potential in such a visible corner location, and very inviting space at that… they did a very nice job in readying the space for a restaurant. That said, Wish 37 fully misses the mark — even though i wanted so badly for it to be good. Everything though about Wish37 is off, starting with it’s uneven menu… seems to be combination of diner and red sauce Italian type place… and so it comes off very amateurish. The most puzzling thing though is the owner’s attitude, which can best be described as poor. Honestly we’re so desperate in S. Bronx for quality dining and night spots, that he wouldn’t have to try all that hard, but he comes across as not caring at all. At least nearby places Ceetay and Clock Bar never disappoint… both bend over backwards to offer quality, and have won over tons of regulars. My recommendation then is to spend your dining and drinking dollars where they’re appreciated. Unfortunately, this is not that kind of place. Again, there’s potential to this location, and so here’s to «wish“ing and hoping, for a better future at Wish 37.

Terrible customer service and the owner is a rude fellow when he thinks your not listening. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Try the small Asian fusion place next door instead for similar prices the service is way better and the owners not a d-bag.

Stopped in for brunch Sun. morning. It was a pretty disappointing experience. Generally felt like a clumsy, inexperienced effort. Coffee came pre-sweetened, so waitress eventually brought milk and sugar to the table. Eggs benedict was no longer on the menu, so we both ordered omelettes, which were no better than what you’d get from a low-end diner. Same for the home fries — no salad option. OJ was just snapple with ice. Side of sausage was the dried out and lacking in flavor. They had no jam for the toast. We had to ask for salt & pepper. On the bright side, the interior is very nicely done and was pleasant and sunny. However, the tables are a little too high for the chairs and have these weird metal leg stands that wedge your legs together. It was drafty, and some sort of alarm buzzer goes off every time someone walks through the door. There were not may people in the place — I doubt it will last long.

Very pleasant dining area — nice finished wood tables and a long bar. As of Nov. 2, they don’t have a liquor license, but BYO wine or beer is okay, as long as you bring a receipt for the purchase of the beverage with you. They tout themselves as «Modern American Cuisine» but it’s mostly Italian food, plus burgers and sandwiches. They do have a nice selection for breakfast, incluiding a variety of omelettes and other egg dishes. Open 7 days, and serves breakfast all afternoon on weekends.
