When you walk towards kitchen to your right theirs a vip section couch little ottoman on side to side big screen tv. Crowd was good i knew half people there. I visited here on a Saturday night in honor of my homegirls birthday event. The security search was done by a female who reminded me of Queen Latifah. After a quick body search and pocketbook check with a flashlight we scotoed past 2 burly male guards and entered. It was dark inside but in the feeble light of the entry way a slim man demanded the $ 10 entry free rather gruffly. After paying, we located members of our party sitting at the front on long bench style seating. There were little small tables that dotted this area. An ATM seemed useful until it read that it was out of service. I had heard they had a kitchen that was open all night. I waded through the place that although it had opened its doors at 10PM was fully packed by 11:30. I located the kitchen at the very back of the place and ordered a $ 13 plate of fried shrimp and fries. The waitress assured me that she would find me with my order.(This was primarily to keep patrons from crowding around the kitchen). When my order arrived she found me in the reserved seating section as I had chosen to commit shoe-a-cide that evening and determined NOT to stand all night until 4AM. The reserved seating area had love seat and sofa setups. An overhead projector displayed cable programming onto a wall. My food arrived on a white modern style square plate. I was reminded to pay $ 13 cash to the waitress.(They do not accept credit cards) The shrimp were huge and the fries dark brown with seasoning. All was actually very good and a portion two could have enjoyed but my stomach was in protest of sharing as I had not eaten all day. My friends looked at me as if I was the only kid in the playground with a double scoop ice cream but ah… well.(*shrug) The DJ was really on point with old school hip hop and current hip hop tunes. The bar was hopping and courteous. The long island ice tea my friend ordered was quite strong as was some other pink lemonade tasting creation. I was happy with my $ 5 Heineken. The ladies room although very small was nicely done and clean. Noise levels meant you had to retreat to the bathroom or go back outside to deal with phone calls but that’s understandable. SUMMARY Food 4 stars… atmosphere…3.5 stars… Seating 2 stars… Staff 3.5 stars. Parking(streetside) 2 stars. I advise you to go for the music and food. The drinks seem okay. The food is okay for the price when compared with portion and taste. Parking is terrible as there is another bar doors down. There is a cab company around the corner though. It was terribly crowded without enough seating but you may still manage to enjoy yourself all the same. I may return again to be sure of my initial rating of this place
