Hostess said it would be a 15 – 20 minute wait, ended up being 40 mins instead. Finally got seated and served and noticed some nasty stuff on the bottom of my salad. I immediately stopped eating it, some type of brown powder was stuck on most of the lettuce pieces. Ordered a beer that took forever, because they had to go fish it out of the stock room… On top of that I noticed the beer was actually expired. What a horrible experience in this location. I have been to another one in Manhattan and did not experience it like this. Never coming back here again

The only reason this place gets one star is because there are no other options and the waitress was very nice. Waited 20 minutes for a table for 7 though the restaurant was only half full. When finally seated the surrounding tables had dirty dinnerware from the prior guests and when we left the dishes were still there. Short on staff. Waited for the meal for over an hour and when the meal finally arrived it was cold. It was obvious the food had been sitting out for a while and basic dinner essentials were not provided. Do not waste your time and money.

Now I do not wonder why this outback has such low rating. We went there today for lunch. We were surprised that the place was empty since it is a saturday at the mall. First the hostess looked like she rather be somewhere– no eye contact and no smiling. Our server was okay. I ordered the sirloin steak and requested medium well– came out as dry as rock and hard(oversalted). My husband ordered their new steak sandwhich– as small as 2 white castle cheeseburgers. Crappy food as hubby said. The fries were old and soggy and just warm not fresh. So disappointed– we should have gone to red robin next door. The outback in yonkers is so much better Do not waste your money on this outback at the bay plaza mall

Okay so date night occasionally takes us to the mall because of the AMC theater which has begun to go downhill again… sorry that’ll be a separate review(there are never enuff hrs in the day). I digress… so of most chain food places I must say I have liked Outback a lot, was sorry to see the one by my job in midtown close a couple of years ago… any who Bay Plaza location… I was excited and overjoyed to see them open at the mall considering that the reviews or my personal experience at the other food eateries were below my foodie standards. So the staff though young makes an effort(this generations work ethic is diff then ours… I have a few years of teeth on me). I was surprised for how busy on a Thursday night before close they were or now looking back for how short staffed they were with servers maybe. Initially we tried to eat there before the movie — no go… with the 20 min wait, but our return 30 mins before they closed was met with joy. Our server I think her name was Christina, she talked so fast and the fact that she appeared over worked for her section which was full. Yet I must give her all kinds of kudos because she handled the load and seemed ready to go to battle with kitchen and bar staff for customer requests. Food…so we ordered coconut shrimp appetizer… slightly over cooked but eatable. Rib-Eye Steak sweet potato with veggies(I asked for mixed and got only broccoli — didn’t send it back for fear of the wait or special sauce). The sweet potato was drowned in butter and no sour cream in sight but I made due. The one thing right was my rib-eye… cooked to medium perfection and huge, I don’t recall the enticing weight on the menu, but if you’re a steak person… it was that of rib-eyed dreams and summer bar-be-ques! Drinks…so the bartending staff look way too young to drink let alone behind the bar mixing drinks… I guess good genes go a long way!?! But when the mixed drink menu is standard and light(mojitos, Margaritas and such) the aging of the bartender won’t matter… on advise of our server we went with the Strawberry Peach Sangria… delightful considering is all I have. I will make an effort to go again at a different time to see if the experience is different… but I suspect I will be getting my steak fix at home or in true steakhouse fashion at Jake’s Steakhouse which is amazing… steakhouse prices, but amazing nonetheless and consistent in food prep and presentation and did I say Amazing… lol. So I guess my overall review is the Outback is that of all fast food chains… standard hit or miss service, drinks and food. I guess Dallas BBQ’s will be the go to eatery when doing movie night at the mall.

First time i came here i had a great server and great experiencea out 3 weeks ago… THISTIMEHOWEVER. SMH i waited a hour plus for my order! When it finally came it was wrong! I talked to 2 managers and after sitting there with my best friend who also had a hour plus wait for just a burger and fries he took off 3 $ from the bill to substitute for fish. The server over charged us(charged us for a appetizer we didnt have plus our meals) i had to exchange my meal for fish since they couldnt get it right. When it finally came my friend was done with his meal and i just boxed my fish to go. The server didnt apologize for the order or for over charging us .they didnt discount the bill for the long wait on a non busy wednesday night. we paid and the server tried to tell me my debit was declined which i knew was a lie. I gave it another try and it went thru… i wouldnt go back and its sad because i had a good experience the 1st time but this last visit was a total 360. I would rather go ANYWHEREELSE. bay plaza needs work and as someone who work in the food industry myself they need to start with proper customer service and consistency. Ill be continuing going to Manhattan to eat out from now on. Sometimes its worth leaving the bx just for better service.

This was my second time visiting Outback. The first time was excellent… waitress was nice and pleasant. This time around everything seemed very very off from the moment I walked in. From the beginning the wait was about 40 minute wait. Once my name was called the hostess was very pleasant and said you will be seated now. My party and I awaited to sit down and I said will you be sitting us and he pointed to someone and the individual rolled his eyes and I asked is there a problem? He had a face and attitude and I did say maybe he needs to go home. We finally sat down and waitress came quickly and introduced herself. She was a very sweet lady and we immediately spoke and ordered drinks and appetizers. Everyone drink came out except mine… My company had 2 round of drinks before I received mine. And only reason I received mine was because my first order drink was unavailable. The wings I ordered were very good. However our entrees took over an hour to come out. One entrée was undercooked and mash was bland no garlic. There were no sweet potatoes available. The waitress was very very apologetic. I started looking around and was becoming very annoyed. Tables were complaining and very upset. The waitresses had attitudes and it was disgusting. I honestly was very upset and annoyed. I will never ever go again there. I spoke to the manger and express my sentiments and how I will never go there again. It is very unfortunate because I love steak.

I’d only been to an Outback Steakhouse one other time several years ago so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It was after work and so not very crowded. I decided to sit at the bar since I was alone. Although it was fairly slow and empty it took me several minutes to even be greeted. I was able to grab a menu from a couple sitting a few seats away from me. Finally a bartender came and took my order. I decided to get a small order of their famous Bloomin Onions for an appetizer and then for the main course I ordered the filet mignon petite medium with a crab cake. For the sides, I got broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes. I also ordered a drink from the happy hour menu. 20 minutes went by and I still had no food in front of me. What’s worse is my bartender/waitress was nowhere to be found. I actually didn’t even see her for the rest of the evening. I had to wave another server down to check on my food. A few minutes later, my entrée came out. Unless there’s sum new restaurant rule I don’t know about, I’m under the impression that the appetizer comes out before entrée. But I digress. I ordered my steak medium, however received it very well done. The server then proceeded to go back and forth with me tryna tell me that it was, in fact, cooked medium. My appetizer finally arrived halfway through my meal. Most of the onions had been cooked to practically a burnt status. I also witnessed another waitress argue with a customer at a table across from me which was super unprofessional. I may give the restaurant another chance, but this time try table service. I gave it 3 stars because the Aussie punch I had was very good and only $ 4 as well as the fact that the restaurant was nice and clean and had several tvs.

Honestly I would give this outback zero stars. .I don’t even know where to begin. the servers were fighting with each other .they forgot items from my order, the prime rib was chewy. when a customer leaves more then half their entrée uneaten on the plate that should be a sign ! .I get this restaurant is in the Bronx. .but that’s really no excuse for the terrible experience.

First time here and ugh. I agree with the rest of the comments, what you ask for you do not get. I asked for medium well steak and got hard and dry. And it had taken so long to get it that I could not bring myself to request for it to be taken back. My son had the crab and avocado stack which ehhh we didn’t like at all. It just took to long and the food was blah. I might return, who knows

I’ll keep this review as short as possible… So I decided to attend this nightmare referred to as Outback Restaurant with my girlfriend on 12/19/2015…Everything appeared fine until orders were place. First the waitress brings the bread with no small plates, no biggie… The blooming onion came to the table looking a bit dark on the grease side, I stood shut on that one… I orders a salad with blue cheese and a steak w. mashed potatoes where My girl ordered a crab cake and a well done steak with a loaded baked potato… The waitress comes to the table with the main dishes where she completely forgot the salad and crab cake, but I now told her she forgot the two dishes… My girls steak was medium-well where her potato had only butter and chives… Meanwhile my mashed potatoes were literally a baked potatoes which looked like a 3 year old crushed it like play dough(pictures posted).Oddly the waitress takes my girls baked potato off her original plate and puts it on a small plate and heads to the back(strange I think)…The issue with my plate was completely ignored at this moment… She now returns with the crab cake and a salad with ranch dressing… The manager comes to the table 30 seconds later and asked if everything was ok… I advised the manager that everything is aweful. I informed the manager about the salad and mashed potatoes, where her response was«we ran out of mashed potatoes, so we steam our potatoes and crushed it for you and I’ll bring you the correct salad»…The manager had the nerve to bring me out another crushed potato, but this time it was put on a plate with an ice cream scooper… it was totally horrible where it broke apart like hard play dough… My girls baked potato was brought back properly… I never received the A1 steak sauce I asked the waitress and the manager for at two seperate times… Keep in mind the restaurant was not busy or even crowded. After interacting with the manager, I never saw her again that night… I honestly believe she ran to the back to hide because she realized we were fully aware of the improper service provided… Honestly speak; I would of been way more satisfied eating at McDonalds over this garbage… I’m so disgusted…

I did not have a good experience. I came here on opening week about 12pm and the place was empty. I ordered a burger that took 45 minutes to come out and it was undercooked(for me) and they added cheese(when I specifically said I was allergic) I had to wait for a new burger that did not have a good taste. Needless to say I was late to work coming from an empty restaurant that’s simply unacceptable. On the bright side the manager was really nice about getting me a new burger.

The first couple times I visited this Outback location, I had a really great experience. My steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it and the food arrived hot and in a timely manner. Service was also on point. So when I went back for my last visit, I was disappointed by how much things had deteriorated in such a short amount of time. The wait for food was ridiculous. Plenty of other patrons were waiting long amounts of time for their food, too, so there was clearly something backing up service in the kitchen. When my steak finally arrived, it was overdone, cold, and my maple bacon bourbon sauce was nowhere to be found. My server had to go back and get it separately. He also offered to take it back to the kitchen but at this point, I was way too hungry to risk waiting another 30+ minutes for my steak. My server was very attentive and apologetic about the whole situation, even though it clearly wasn’t his fault. Food was being sent back to the kitchen at a couple tables near me, and many other patrons seemed quite disappointed at the food. I was very excited about this location opening up and it seemed like it was going to be a major standout among the lackluster food options in the mall, but now I’m not so sure. I don’t know what changed between my first two visits and the last, but I hope they get it together soon.

I have been here 3 times already and do not intend on returning. My family and I have always loved outback but sadly this location has ruined the franchise for us. The service is just ok. I get the feeling that many of their servers are first time servers because they need to be trained and educated on the franchise. On my first visit my husband ordered their chicken Caesar salad and the server brought out a side Caesar salad. When I told him this was way too small for a grown man and asked if he was sure that there wasn’t a large salad he told me that there wasn’t, when the menu clearly stated there was. On my second visit I ordered a blue moon beer and my server placed it on the table in the bottle, which normally would bother me because this beer is to be served in a chilled glass with an orange slice but that wasn’t the issue, my beer was half empty! And when I showed the server my beer he couldn’t find the issue with it. The manager came by and thought the issue was that I wasn’t brought a glass and orange slice for my beer. I had to explain to her that a beer is to be served full. Eventually she got what the problem was but there wasn’t any sign of remorse and she did not try to make my visit go any smoother. I served tables for 4 years and I must say this is NOT good customer service. On my third visit I went with my family to celebrate my nephews 13th birthday. Food came out cold, drinks took way too long to come to the table, the birthday boy’s ribs portion was enough to feed a 2 year old, the Mac and cheese was extremely dry and barely cheesy, they didn’t even have a candle to put in the birthday boy’s dessert, we had to use a lighter as his candle, and we were charged for desserts that were included with our meal. My advice is if you want outback just take the trip out of the Bronx.

I took my friend here for her first time for a pre birthday dinner after some shopping. I must say I was pretty embarrassed because she did not enjoy the food. We ordered the Aussie fries to start with because I have been dying to try them. They were ok, I was expecting better. I ordered a rib eye and she the sirloin. She had a side of caesar salad and the Mac and cheese and I had the garlic mash and Mac and cheese. The salad was good, a little too much dressing. The Mac and cheese was ok, not worth paying extra for. The mash was bland. Now the steak, the thing you come to outback for. I informed the waitress before I ordered that I want my steak pink, no blood. My friend wanted it the same way. When we got our steaks they were NOT pink at all, they were well done. My friend didn’t want to make a fuss, but I cannot eat my steak well done so I advised the waitress and she had no problem taking it back and since I mentioned the mash was bland she had them change it to loaded mash hoping that would satisfy me. I believe it was a manager that came back with my steak. He wanted to make sure it was to my liking and asked if I can cut into to cut. Sure enough still well done. I wasn’t going to wait for another steak. They comped me for the steaks and only charged for my friends food and the app, which I paid for because I felt it was my fault for suggesting the place. The service was great, my waitress did everything she could to try to make the situation better, but the food wasn’t good. I was really disappointed. No taste, not cooked the way I asked.

A solid 3.5 stars! The Bay Plaza area has definitely changed with the addition of the new mall. It is seriously a parking nightmare but the addition of the new stores and restaurants is definitely good for the economy. So the Outback Steak House is one of the new restaurants in the Plaza. We made a reservation for 4pm on a Saturday. We arrived at about 3:40 and the place was packed! I wasn’t expecting it to be as busy as it was but totally understandable since it was a weekend. We were seated within 10 minutes. Our server quickly came to the table. We weren’t quite ready to order; unfortunately he disappeared for about 15 minutes before returning to take our drink orders. Once he returned we were ready to order drinks and food. The menu was standard. We ordered the volcano shrimp and lobster as an appetizer. I absolutely loved it! My boyfriend didn’t like it so much due to the thick creamy sauce but I thought it was delicious. We both ordered steaks and my aunt ordered ribs. We were all very satisfied with our meals. I think as long as the food is consistent with the Outback chain expectations this location will do just fine. However they definitely need to tighten up the customer service. While we were in the restaurant there was a staff member walking around on his phone which I thought was very inappropriate. Also our server would disappear for long amounts of time without checking in with us. He was gone so long at one point that I never got a chance to order a second cocktail. By the time he returned we were ready to go. Which was a shame because I really enjoyed my margarita. He also took forever to see if we needed to-go containers. I hate it when the food is just sitting on the table at the end of a dining experience. Even though the place was busy there seemed to be enough staff to allow for quicker service. Overall the food was great and I would return but I would expect more attentive service.

I am actually surprise with all the positive review. I been here 2 times and both times have left disappointed. The steak is dry, no taste and of cheap quality. The Mac and cheese is ok — I prefer Longhorns. The bread they offer is not at all appealing. The coconut shrimp are good. The steak taco disgusting! The rib melt you can do at home and if your going for a yummy steak dinner you will leave unhappy and on top of that add a very long wait time. The place gets a 2 for staff who are really helpful and understanding and for the cheese fries. Won’t be going back unless I am picking up some cheese fries.

The food was delicious. I prefer longhorn, however my family wanted Outback. I was surprised that the food was so good. Ive only visited 1 other Outback, and thats in Queens Center — Horrible. But this one — is pretty good, just as long as they keep their kitchen staff happy.
