Its used to be a great place for seafood, but lately their quality has drastically dropped. If you serve Calamari thats not crisp and is chewy then thats nt my place to dine. Thats my bench mark. They have good steaks and if I am there i much rather order that than seafood. Good drinks overall a good place to meet friends for lunch or dinner has great views of water!

Now I know why people call City Island — Sh*tty Island. Used to be one of the best restaurants at City Island and now is one of the worst. The restaurant has great views of the water, inside and outside seating. Overall the restaurant is one of the more expensive and fancier compared to the others. However, the food and service is not like it used to be. In fact, it’s horrible. Food: 1⁄5 Service: 2⁄5 Ambiance: 4⁄5 Overall: 2⁄5 You know when you go to a restaurant and the menu is unusually large, that means they aren’t professional and don’t have many specialities. The food is just horrible. Tastes frozen. The baked clams are so bad I almost choked and threw up while eating them. The calamari tasted like rubber tires. Nasty. Tastes like food poisoning if you ask me.

Everything here was just ok, nothing I had to eat make me want to go back there. It was not a horrible experience, we had a good time, but for the price you expect better service and better tasting food. This place will only be a one time visit for us, but I would recommend trying it out for yourself. You mite like it.

I’ve been here a few times, the food is always good but very expensive. The side salad has baby shrimp and mandarins delicious! The drinks are nice and strong, and the food is good. They give you high portions, and fill you up with bread, cheese, and pickled veggies.

BIGPORTIONS!!! It was definitely worth the price. We had no idea and ordered apps and a main dish and were stuffed. Everything was delicious. The staff were all friendly and the food was delicious.

Generally a nice restaurant with water views — inside and outside seating. The waitstaff were pleasant, though the menu wasn’t represented well. The food was ‘ho-hum’, nothing an untrained person can accomplish. I’d probably not return since we overpaid for the quality served.

I have been here many times. The restaurant is large, cheerful, and on the water. Service is good and prompt. I find the sea food consistently good, especially the clam chowder and raw platter(half lobster, shrimp, and clams). The menu is extensive but focused on seafood. My brother enjoys fresh fish and had a huge grilled halibut the other evening. He said he was disappointed in the French fries but otherwise everything was good. Another friend had the lobster bisque and said it was so filling and tasty he had to take most of his Coney Island Sushi Roll home. I like to take out-of-towers here both to show them a unique part of the city and to have a good seafood dinner in very pleasant surroundings. Kudos to Michael our excellent waiter. I’ll be back.

I’m giving them 5 stars mostly based on the service and ambiance. Ask for Michael. The Seafood City nearby was too crowded and seemed like they only had fried food so for a better ambiance, went to Seashore Restaurant. It was a great idea. FOOD: 4⁄5 SERVICE: 5⁄5 ** would give them 10 stars AMBIANCE: 5⁄5 VALUE: 4⁄5 OVERALL: 5⁄5 Michael was our waiter. He was very efficient and was tending to a lot of tables at first but he would always check in with us and say«how are you» «I’ll be right with you» etc. The menu is enormous and daunting. Prices are steep, but what else can you expect from a seafood restaurant in NYC?! Then I realized that we get delicious crusty bread with some olives and pickled beans, etc, and all the entrée orders included veggies and some form of potato(fries, baked, etc). We ordered: piña colada: delicious margarita: delicious broiled sea bass with balsamic reduction: good. great spinach and yummy sauce. fish probably needed a bit more salt and pepper but here was the thing: I ordered linguini mussels with marinara sauce. I received linguini clams. I told Michael. He quickly checked his notes apologetically and said, «Absolutely no problem, I’ll bring out your linguini mussels in TWOMINUTES» About only 3 – 4 minutes later, I got an ENORMOUS portion of linguini mussels with marinara sauce. He said«it was my fault so I asked them to give you extra» This was not at all necessary since the portions already are so large. Truthfully, that portion came out in what seemed like a cauldron, and enough to feed 5 people. I think there were 2 pounds of mussels, or about 40 mussels., and they were all huge. I don’t know if they harvested these mussels from a planet of giants, but nearly every single one was roughly 4 inches long! Taste –wise, I thought that they do need to add something to it, like salt or sauteed onion or garlic. Also I thought the mussels lacked a bit of taste. Kind of like when you have a large hot-house grown tomato that tastes watery. Suffice to say, I could not finish it and now I have leftovers for 2 days. We were charged only the price of the clam mussels, but were given about 50% more of the portion of mussels! So while the price was a bit high and the taste was a bit lackluster, Michael was the clutch part of the night and I do recommend this place if you like waterfront seafood dining.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would have given it a VIP room in hell. I had some mozararlla sticks and fresh baked bread which was okay. The main entrée was absolutely awful. My tilapia($ 21.99)…a white fish that should have little to almost no fish taste tate so fishy that I nearly gagged. I originally ordered grilled tilapia bit they served me this crap because they said that grilling the«delicate» fish was too difficult. That’s fine but on their menu it says they can do any fish to your preference. it’s false advertising if they tell you can’t do it otherwise. they should mark which dish can be prepared grilled sauté whatever and what cant. I couldn’t drink my mudslide($ 12.99) because they were too heavy with the vodka. I had a better mudslide at the Hooter’s in Atlantic City. this didnt even come close to it. The restaurant is nice, a bit noisy during dinner but not overly so. The waiters are so-so but efficient. I came here as a guest but I’m glad I’m not footing the bill. if you want fine seafood cusine… there are better places to go to. don’t waste your good money here.

Why is this place still here? NOTHING is fresh. If I could give it one star it would only be for the ALCOHOL. I had a dozen raw clams which were basically left in boiling water for too long.(rubber). I’ve never seen buffalo shrimp the way I saw it prepared tonight. Fried shrimp on a platter with hot sauce on the side… WTF? The baked clams had absolutely NOFLAVOR, WHATSOEVER. Chewy, rubbery, flavorless. I got the Seafood Extravaganza«broiled» & it was FKING disgusting. FLAVORLESS, DRY, DRENCHEDINBREADCRUMBS&OIL. This place is an absolute waste of time. Never coming here again. Me & my boyfriend were disgusted. Oh & not to mention. The canned mini shrimp, & high fructose corn syrup tangerines in my salad. Enjoy the appetizer platter that they bring out to you. EATATYOUROWNRISK.

By far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. This place should be shut down. Every restaurant on city island fell off. They hire chefs that are simply retarded. From the house bread to the chewy baked clams with no flavor to the salad that was just terrible, this place should get fined for robbing people. This island is not the spot for seafood. I suggest going to the NYC for better seafood. For the people that gave this restaurant 3 – 5 stars, you people have no taste for good food. Im so disgusted…

Delicious and pricey seafood. Sat outside with nice views and good weather. Expect to spend money, but this is City Island.

Two stars just due to the drinks being awesome but other than that way to high in price for a place not even clean with sitting next to the window with flies as company, and asking for the check felt like years of waiting. Thanks but no thanks, NEVER coming back. Oh and the smell was aweful, like low tide funky seaweed sand dodo

Dinner for 2 $ 150 including tip I got the lobster tail and filet mignon(around $ 50), my friend got some sort of fish, 2 orders of white tuna sashimi(around $ 6 for 3 piece per order) and fried calamari($ 15). Took off one star cause the menu and table were a bit sticky. My food tasted dry which I subtracted another star for. And the last star was because the calamari tasted worst than those that I get from pizza shops. My friend said that his fish was delicious so one star for that. For the price that was paid I’ll rather have multiple meals at McDonalds.

I ordered shrimp scampi and it was the worse interpretation of the recipe I have ever encounters. No flavor whatsoever. It was breaded. I never heard of such. So much breading that it was all over the sauce or shall I say red oil. It appeared that they took fried breaded shrimps and smothered it in a red oil sauce. Horrible. WIll not be returning. I had visited years ago and was so impressed that I wanted another go. I remember fresh cheese and bread for starters. This time, not only did I have to ask for it. It looked like it had been sitting out, the cheese and olive did not seem fresh Yuck! It will be my last go… The Bartender was ok. Not too wise, that he failed to ask me why I left my entire meal. Lucky for me, I have an entire strip to experiment with at City Island.

We’ve been to the Sea Shore many times over the years(our first visit was in 1974) and we’ve never been disappointed. Firat of all, ask for the marina view outdoor dining. Great view and quite comfortable when there is a breeze. Today we had the shrimp scampi and veal parmigiana, both lunch priced at $ 22.95 each but that included antipasto & warm bread loaf as appetizers(both delicuous), a soup or salad and coffee /dessert. We started with the salad and New England clam chowder and the salad was very fresh & tasty. The chowder was very creamy with quite a few good sized pieces of clam. Obviously freshly made & not canned. It was also a full bowl, not a cup as you might get somewhere else. The shrimp scampi over linguine had 7 good sized butterfly shrimp over a large portion of linguine with a light marinara sauce and it was quite tasy. The veal parmigiana, also over linguine, was a good sized veal cutlet, thin and lightly breaded. Nicely done, but a bit more cheese than I personally care for. The service was excellent and the waiter was attentive without hovering. There was a lot of food here(maybe a bit too much), so much so that we doggy-bagged half of the meals for later. Overall, we had a nice, relaxing lunch on the waterfront in a comfortable, casual setting with good food and a reasonable bill.

Nice place delicious food been here many times. Charlie is our favorite wait staff, polite very accommodating. But today our roll of quarter $ 10 were missing from our car’s ashtray when we got our car back from valet parking. Call the management to let them know and look it to this, but instead of being apologetic and thank you for information I was told that our valet guys make enough money couple hundreds per day they do not steal your $ 10 roll of quarter. Well you just loose two customers. Duck in duck out. Sad indeed. Vw

Hadn’t been in decades but the flow of libations, great conversation… yes yet another girls outing, and great seafood is always a plus. The extra helping of veggies was key and appreciated along with well seasoned lobster and shrimp. The waiter was attentive and gave good suggestions we were a group of 5 slightly liquored hungry women lol no peanut gallery comments. Worth the re-acquaintance and we’ll surely revisit again.
