Newish place near work. Boring food, lackluster service. Crazy long list of lunch specials, 80% of which they do not have. Asked the waitress to run down the list of which entrees are actually available, the reply = «why don’t you tell me what you want and I’ll tell you if we have it.» Not exactly helpful. Ordering was a comedy of errors after my extended soliloquy reading of menu specials. It took an hour for my Fish Creole to arrive and when it did, was not cooked through. My friend had ordered the same dish and sent it back as she is not a sushi afficionado. They brought dishes we had not ordered to the table and looking back we should have just taken them so we would have actually have the opportunity to eat some lunch in a reasonable time. I no longer had time to waste, my afternoon meeting coming soon. I planned to get my lunch to go as only the periphery of the fish was cooked enough to eat and bland to boot. Our waitress Gricelda offered to pack up my meal but as I’d already seen her skill in the ordering and meal delivery process, I only asked for a to go carton. This never actually happened and one of my co-workers got up and went over to the kitchen to get me the necessary supplies. The best thing I can say is that the fish was fresh. Still, the overpowering odor of cleanser in the restaurant was disconcerting. It should have been mixed in with the smell of cooking food, but we were the only patrons present for lunch hence not a lot of cooking going on. No surprise that with boom time at lunch, the place was a ghost town.
