Great local Italian restaurant in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. Drove by it many times and when I finally stopped to try it it became one of my favorites.

I came here because my Fiancé‘e said it was the best Italian food in the Bronx years ago… I know seafood very well and I can tell you with confidence that the Salmon was farm-raised and pre-frozen and the Halibut was similar quality to those found in fish sticks. I’m not exactly a picky eater but you should read up on the health concerns regarding farm raised salmon. Top to Bottom; 900 Park is not an Italian restaurant. Techno music, bright lights, Wobbly Tables, and I shouldn’t be able to order Buffalo wings. It’s probably a decent idea for an after work cocktail but as for a meal or god forbid a date? I couldn’t eat the food and The Misses couldn’t chew through the chicken. The establishment is obviously run by 26 – 29 year old kids. If I worked there I would start looking for work pronto Ciao

I agree with the previous poster. Pine is so much better and the Italian food here is OK at best. The service was not much better.

The whole time we were there we kept wondering why anyone would come here when Pine is right down the road. The food quality was fine, but the portions were small. You get more than twice as much at Pine for only a few dollars more. Also, the plates were old and gross and looked like they came from a summer camp. The salad that came with the meal was TINY and in an old wooden bowl. Gross.

This restaurant keeps getting worse and worse. The place used to rock but for some reason it’s been sliding down hill. I recently ordered the hot antipasto and the shrimp and clams tasted awful. It was 5pm on a Thursdays and we were the only people in the restaurant, and it still took ½ hour for the appetitzers to arrive. I ordered cavatelli and broccoli and it was just ok I would not go back to this place again!

This is quite possible the worst restaurant I have been to in New York, and definitely the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The fact that this is even open in the middle of an Italian neighborhood boggles my mind. Three of us all had pasta, of which only the gnocchi was decent, but certainly nothing special. The two oil-based dishes were basically overcooked noodles mushed with vegetables sitting in an oil soup. Pretty bad. Anyone could make much better at home, not to mention the quality Italian restaurants nearby(e.g. Patricia’s). The bread was awful, and I don’t mean an Italian style that I wasn’t fond of, I mean it was basically white Wonder Bread. They did bring some decent bruschetta to start us off, but it was all downhill from there. I’d rather eat doritos at the bowling alley next door.

I went to Mama Maria with my fiancé and was a little skeptical at first. When you walk in, you sort of wonder if you are dressed accordingly, if you have causal attire on. We were wearing the everyday jeans and sneaker attire and felt a little under dressed. The atmosphere is a little formal, but they didnt address the dress code. They served italian tomato bruschetta which was very tasty. My fiancé and I loved it so much. The portions are not big and the prices are very reasonable.

You definitely get more for your money here! Although their food isn’t extremely authentic, it’s very inexpensive and you get a TON of it. Their salads are pretty good(and their house dressing rocks!), although the produce wasn’t extremely fresh(the lettuce was a little wilted). My husband got a seafood dish with crab and clams(not sure what it was called, but it was the most«expensive» thing on the menu — around $ 15), and he loved it. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and wasn’t disappointed either.
