I had the WORST experience today at Salvation Army in Brockton. Terrible store. Whoever owns these stores does a terrible job with them… they should DEEPLY regret closing my beloved Norwood Salvation Army! Now there’s only this one, the one in Framingham, and in Northbridge. Both, the Northbridge & Framingham locations are much better than this dump. So anyway, today’s experience: TERRIBLE. First, the store in general is HUGE and much larger than the old Norwood SA. They have tons of clothing, as well as tons of home goods, books, records, jewelry, and furniture. I found a few items I wanted to purchase and went to checkout. This is where the terrible experience occurred. I wanted to purchase 2 items, one had a sticker with a «1.99» sticker, and $ 2.99 in writing on the plastic, which I would have first asked them about. Then I would have purchased that item along with 2 others. After staying in the real checkout line, while some of the other 10 or more people moved to the jewelry checkout. When that lane cleared, other male employees were jumping over the jewelry counter, and all just laughing, while they should have been checking out customers. I walked over and asked if she was open, she first ignored me and continued to laugh and chat with her«friends», all of which were working at the time. When she said she was closed, I dropped my items, literally and left. Terrible customer service. I have visited other Salvation Army stores(specifically, the one in Norwood was amazing, too bad it closed). I won’t ever be coming back here, and would never suggest this store to anyone. I’d much rather drive to the Northbridge & Framingham locations.

Although today was a miss this thrift store location is a lot of fun and worth a stop in. They usually have a 50% off every other Saturday and the place can get mobbed. I have found some high quality new items for dirt cheap! If you get on their email list they send you cool coupons! Stop in and find your hidden treasure!

Staff was helpful, store was clean and a lot of selection. The price tags are color coded and every day a different color or 2 are on sale 50% OFF. Wednesday’s are family day– when we went multiple colors were 50% off. My boyfriend was able to get some work clothes(he does landscaping), an air wicked shirt for the gym and a pair of light weight dress slacks for an upcoming wedding. Second time I went back was good as well. I found a cute cotton/poly blend black dress with simple offwhite trim, knee length and $ 5. I found the bf a plaid pair of Colombia shorts that looked close to brand new for $ 2.50. I’ll be back next time I’m in the Brockton area.
