Cristal Restaurant

This is our first time here so we did not know what to expect. Hostess was friendly and the ambiance is upbeat and energetic with music (rather loud) from speakers behind us. The restaurant is clean and nice with tablecloths and linens.
We ordered the Grilled Octopus to share and for mains, we had the Fried Red Snapper and the Shrimp with Mozambique sauce.
The Grilled Octopus was fantastic! Perfectly seasoned and so tender. Grilled then sautéed with some peppers and onions. Goes great with their homemade hot sauce.
The shrimp was apparently a bit overcooked but tasty. Served with rice and french fries or vegetables. The fish was cooked well and was … A fried fish. Tasty and I had it with a side of rice and veggies. The rice I have to say was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned beautifully.
This should be a 3−½ star review with the exception of the octopus which would be 5 stars!
Overall, we are glad we came and we will be back to try other dishes here.

Very nice clean atmosphere. The food was excellent and, the waitress was professional. We ordered the grilled tilapia dinner and we also had wings and fries.

Pleasant little place, the meat was nice with a unique cream sauce and rice. The snapper was good too, and the staff were friendly. I’d definitely go again.

I love the food here. The meat is always juicy and has enough sauce to spoon over the rice. I love that! The prices are fair and it’s open super late. The staff are generally nice from my experience and you can get things to go if it’s too crowded for your liking.

Was going to check out another restaurant, by happenstance, saw this restaurant & decided to give it a chance. The place had a live funana band on a Saturday night, packed to the brim. Didn’t think that it would be possible to get good service on the count of the amount of people. Yet, the servers got the food out quickly, the music was awesome, & it had a family atmosphere. Try the Grogue rum if you get the chance. Cape Verdian rum is delicious & smooth going down. Prices are very reasonable & it’s awesome spot to go for ethic food. Late at night, there’s fee parking lot parking.

Stopped by to ask for a take-​out menu and got an attitude. I asked another employee and she said «are you playin’?» No I am not playing!
Am I asking too much of them for a simple menu? Just a VERY weird vibe/​interaction!
