Roberto’s Restaurant

Went for pre-​Valentine dinner with my family last night. There were 2 hostesses on because it was «so busy» and they were not at all welcoming and kind of abrasive. I’m writing this review for the sake of the restaurant and hoping they use this as constructive criticism and change some things-​Food: my daughter ordered Filet Mignon and the gravy tasted like it was from a jar from the grocery store — it was real bad and came over cooked, lobster pasta dish was ok but lobster was cold and tough, pasta fagioli seemed somewhat homemade but was quite bland– like semi homemade with sauce out of a can and veggies and beans thrown in, the lamb dish special was tasty but was only given 2 very small lollipop lamb chops which is essentially 2 bites of meat. Overall the chef or cooks need a critic to come in and tell them what is up because some of the Bristolians seem to not understand that they are eating some half rate food. It might catch up with this restaurant one day but I hope the owner gets ahead of this before it does!!! Fix it!

This is a hidden gem, love the sauce, meatballs are to die for, gilled sirloin is packed with flavor a pleasant surprise in an Italian restaurant. Nice quiet, cozy ambiance and great service. Always sit at the bar and interestingly all the times we have been here we have never had the same bartender, not sure if all the waitstaff rotate but every bartender has been top notch. Only negative I have is the prices are somewhat on the high side. Not for what you get or the quality of the food but I feel for Italian in the area. But it does not stop us from coming back.

We discovered Roberto’s last year and were impressed with the food, service, ambience and reasonable prices. Based on that we decided to hold our real Christmas party there for our real estate brokerage. GREAT DECISION! They were thorough and accommodating from planning through the event. When we arrived the décor in the event dining room was prefect. Neely, the manager and Kelly, the event coordinator made sure all the details were covered. Everyone attending raved over the food and service from appetizers through dessert. The bill was as anticipated with no surprises. Streamline Realty Group couldn’t have chosen a better place to host our event. W highly recommend Roberto’s Restaurant to one and all!

Great atmosphere, service was great, food was pricy but worth it.

Had the shrimp Fra diavalo. It was just ok. Wife had the chicken parm. Again, she thought it was just ok. The place is nothing special. No wow factor.

Truth be told objectivity is questionable here. I’ve been a long time fan of Roberto’s. Having lived in Boston, NYC and Providence I would have to say Roberto’s Restaurant has some of the best Italian anywhere. Federal Hill used to be best above all but has been on the decline since the removal of the mob. Both their Lasagna and Bolognese are the best I’ve had anywhere (Mott St., North End or Federal Hill). It is tucked into a quaint little Norman Rockwell painting that is Bristol, RI.

We did not like this restaurant. The service was abysmal – it took us over 1 ½ hours to get our meals. My meal, shrimp scampi, was good, but my wife’s meal, scallops, was terrible. The scallops were so salty they were close to inedible. Neither meal came with any vegetables – not a one! I really see no reason to recommend this restaurant.

The last time my mother was in Town was March of 2013 for my Conformation dinner at Roberto’s, so when I asked her where she wanted to eat during her last visit on Saturday she knew without a doubt she wanted to go to Roberto’s. As always the staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. We walked in just a few minutes shy of their opening, however they were not phased at all. We were sat right away and our sever was over in minutes. We had the Mussels as an appetizer (delicious!!!) and split a chick dish (also delicious!), the dish came pre split and there was no fuss over us splitting the meal. Kelly the manager was great checking on us throughout our meal. The next day my mother called to say what a great time she had, how pleasant the restaurant and staff were, she can’t wait to go back! Thank you Roberto’s for another great night!!!

This is one of Rhode Islands little secrets 5 star food with great prices and even better atmosphere.
I have yet to find a person that I have recommended here that said it was just OK.

Took my daughter out to dinner… they treated us like gold. We had the meatball app… great meatballs… she had pasta ragout… delicious…I had shrimp piccata… shrimp was so good… no preservatives tastes completely different… Fresh pasta cooked perfectly… Sauce was amazing… loved our dinners… salted chocolate gelato for dessert… Yum… portions were large… atmosphere very pleasant… service excellent… Daughter and I both want to come back soon… thanks :)

Went here for anniversary dinner. First time at the new location, hadn’t been to Roberto’s in years. I like the new place, much better layout. Food was as good as I remember, everything prepared really well.
So, why three stars? The service was pretty bad. Not at the level you would expect for restaurant of this type. Our waitress went MIA… Our food was delivered by other servers. I believe she was distracted by friends at the bar.
After waiting for a while, I got up and tracked down the hostess to request our check. Should not be leaving your anniversary dinner aggravated.

Great service and the food is excellent. I brought my daughter here to give her a break from the same old food at college!
She absolutely loved it. So did I. Be careful, they have large portions. She had a nice doggy bag to take home.
Bob was great and Marisa our server was awesome.
I’ll be back at the next school visit!

First time visiting and my husband and I thought it was amazing. I had.the.cod w orzo and my husband had the veal parm. One big drawback for me was that they did not have music for dining and they did not ask if husband wanted. grated cheese. Our waitress was busy and we will return. Such a nice

My classic and favorite — shrimp scampi at this cozy Italian dig still tops my chart. This deceptively simple yet complex dish is hard to do it well. Roberto always does the shrimp the justice — cooked to tender and moist inside, and crunchy and browned to perfection on the outside. The linguine is al dente and the sauce is butterly complex and sublime, all at the same time.
The selection of wine is good as a good Italian restaurant should be. They carry excellent selection of wine, both red and white, from Italy, Latin America (Chile, Argentina…) Australia and Napa in the U.S.
A lot more room and better outdoor dining since they moved this location from across the street.
On my next visit, I will try a veal dish. Another favorite and looked great on this visit but opted to my usual…

Had dinner here a few days ago for the first time. Service & dinner were fantastic. Calamari was perfect, the bread & oil amazing. Our dinners were a 10 also. Owner is very friendly. We will definitely be repeat customers

I love Robertos! Their new location is beautiful and open, a lot better than when they were across the street! The food was amazing and the waitress was patient and wonderful! I had the carbonara dish and it was delicious! I was craving pasta and was so happy with the dish. I liked even more than it was not drenched in the sauce and you could taste the pasta as well. Carbonara can be iffy and I usually do not order it because it always tends to be a heavier dish, not here! We had lemon cake for dessert and it was delicious!!! I came with an old friend so we came to catch up and chat and we are not rushed so that they could seat other people! Not that there was a line it was a Monday evening but they still had a full house! Enjoy!

My wife and I stumbled across this place yesterday and what a great find it was, we had such a great meal and the service was top notch thanks to the staff there… we will return there for sure and soon !!!

Just the bread is worth the trip!
Extensive wine menu, the regular menu I feel could have offered more… They have Italian classics and then Italian classics with chicken…
Wait staff was extremely friendly and the mood for perfect for a nice date night

I asked my brother and sister-​in-​law who live in Warren where they wanted to go for dinner tonight and they chose Roberto’s without hesitation. I am so glad they did because it really is an exceptionally well run restaurant.
The restaurant is very cozy inside but we opted to eat on the patio (at table p-​202 — I read the checks :-). They start you off with excellent Italian bread, olive oil and freshly grated pecarino (just this could earn the place a 5!).
For dinner I had two appetizers: the sauteed sea scallops with spinach and the caesar salald. The scallops were cooked to perfection and nicely spiced. The salad was very fresh. My sister-​in-​law had chicken parmagiano that was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. It was covered with an excellent tomato sauce and linguine that was cooked to perfection. Finally my brother ordered lamb bolognese with penne that he very much enjoyed.
The service was friendly and efficient. Louise, if you read this, I am afraid I did not have a chance to inspect the bathrooms… well I guess I had a chance, I just didn’t. Prices were reasonable for such a nice restaurant. Thank you Roberto’s for a great dining experience!

We went to Bristol for dinner and had not decided to which restaurant. While walking around we spotted Roberto’s and decided to give it a try. It was Saturday night and the restaurant was busy however we spotted an open outdoor table and to our surprise it was available. We received a very nice greeting and our server was very pleasant. The menu had plenty of choices and I ordered the scallop primavera and my wife ordered veal piccata. The Italian bread was very good as was the oil and grated cheese. The scallops were excellent as was the fettuccine and light sauce. My wife enjoyed her veal but would have preferred pasta as the starch. The prices were reasonable and we left full and very satisfied.
