I didn’t even give Kevin any business and yet he provided exceptional service. I needed a new bumper and called him after hearing great things. I’m so glad I did because even though he couldn’t fix my car (I needed a body shop), he walked me through what to expect with the insurance process. In addition, he helped me understand what the dealership would likely try to say and why it wasn’t true.
McCarthy’s is a very small-​town shop where customer service is pivotal… whether you’re a paying customer or not! The next time I need car work done, I may just drive down from Providence to give Kevin my business. Simply exceptional.

I went to see Kevin based on the outstanding reviews from customers. Being new to the area coming from the west coast, I have to depend on reviews and there I met a very pleasant and friendly Kevin. My wife and I were prepared to leave the car for a fluid check-​up and maintenance and told him that we’re just going for a walk to nearby grocery and to just give us a call when the car is ready. But as soon as he found out that me and my wife are new to Bristol, he offered to take us to a walking trail nearby and my wife and I looked at each other as if we’re asking each other, «Is this guy really serious?». Sure enough he was serious and he drove us to the park. It was a good place to walk, very different from the west coast, we enjoyed our morning walk. We told him that we are just going to walk back to his place, he offered to pick us up too!
In about 45 minutes, we got a call from Kevin and our car is ready! Now with the special service he did to us, I am anticipating to see higher charge on my invoice. Nope, the charges are very reasonable and fair! No wonder why the next door auto repair shop had only 4 cars in their yard and Kevin’s yard has like 30 cars that morning. THIS IS THE PLACE! Very honest, kind, skilled and friendly. Unfortunately, only 5 stars is allowed here, I want to give him a 10!

Kevin and Mariane are always very helpful. Work is great and quick. Can’t thank them enough.

This is a hidden jem, best folks to work with. me and my parents have been going to Kevin at McCarthy’s auto for 24years.

This place is great. Kevin is honest, kind, skilled, and has a good sense of humor. He’ll work with you to find the best solution to your problem (like if you can’t afford brand new parts he’ll try to find used, rebuilt, etc). He won’t do unnecessary work and he won’t scare you into fixing things that can wait a while — even if you’re female, lol. His prices are fair and he gets the job done well. The only downs side is he’s not open Saturdays. Also, he’s busy because he’s good and has loyal customers so you have to call ahead and schedule in advance.
