Awesome fried chicken. Crispy, delicious breading. Well seasoned, juicy chicken. The sides were decent but I came here for the chicken and was very happy.

There is pizza known as New York pizza – it has a look, feel, taste that is distinct. This was not New York Pizza – it is New England Pizza, a round disc, very little tomato sauce and globs of some form of cheese on the top… drove there from afar, in the blind belief I was getting a New York slice — WRONG…it’s a New England Pizza – nothing to do with Italy, nothing to do with New York… Can’t speak for the fried chicken – generally fried chicken is not found in Pizza places(nice touch if the pizza had been New York style. no parking either btw. hitting the road and going fishing

I wrote a review to mention that I really liked this place and should have knocked on wood. The next day I got sick and it was worse than anything I ever remember. Now the thought of any of the food I liked from there evokes bad memories and makes me want to go hover over the toilet bowl.

The chicken is the best fried chicken in the area, and some of the best I’ve had. It’s comfort food and hits the spot.

Since they bill themselves as a «fried chicken place» I decided to order 5 pieces of chicken without the sides, just two rolls. Their sides — which sat in the warmer next to the chicken looked unappealing. The Good: Their chicken was okay but nothing special. Reasonably fresh, they cook up a new batch whenever their supply of about 15 – 20 pieces runs low. In looking at the other reviews, I can see that they may have a problem with consistency of their product. I just happened to time my purchase to get the recently cooked stuff. Prices were quite reasonable: $ 7.00 for 5 pieces of chicken — which in my case only consisted of dark meat, which was odd. The Bad: This place is really a dive, in a bad way. It needs paint, the windows washed, the tables are worn and the trash bins are full and disgustingly dirty on the outside — definitely a place you don’t want to eat your meal at. The rolls they served up with my chicken were inedible. Besides a couple of sketchy dudes sitting at the tables talking, it took the staff a few minutes to greet me – and I was the only customer they had. Too busy on their cell phones I guess. Given all of the choices this place offers — from chicken to pizza to ice cream to grinders — I think they’re trying to do everything, but doing nothing particularly well. I won’t be back.

Ordered delivery because I had heard good things(and I was craving fried chicken). I was terribly disappointed. The fried chicken was lukewarm, over-fried, and tasted ‘old’. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and the mac and cheese was… flavorless. The coleslaw was so dry, it was practically just shredded cabbage and carrots — with little else. I won’t be ordering from them again. A shame because I had high hopes.

I’m surprised by the low rating. I’ve had nothing but delicious food delivered quickly from this place. I’ve had a pizza, a calzone, and an eggplant parmesan sub, all of which were great. The fries are great too. I definitely recommend this for anybody in AllBright, particularly if you live between Harvard Ave and Chestnut Hill Ave on the B Line.

Just had to give this place a good word. I made a mistake while ordering and gave them the wrong phone number. Apparently the deliverer was calling the wrong number forever. About half hour after we were supposed to get the delivery we called to see what was up. They explained the situation, and were so kind and understanding about it. The remade our food and delivered it to us in like 10 minutes. We felt terrible, but they were so good to us. The food was SO good too. We’ll definitely be ordering again(and be giving the right number).

I’ve only had hot/cold subs, pizza by the slice and french fries from here, but each time I’ve found that the food is good quality, especially considering the price. For $ 8 you can get an entire sub that is made with all the toppings you desire, and at much better quality than subway, for example. If you’re looking for something quick, the $ 2 slice of pizza is a good option. If you want a good value and are craving a sub or fries, I’d definitely recommend this place. The Italian was especially good, and my friends liked the steak and cheese.

Good fried chicken and you get a lot for your money. The pizza is good too, with slices ready for sale.

I feel a need to defend this place given the overall score. That said, this is a review of the fried chicken only and not about other menu items(pizza etc) or delivery service. The chicken is very good if you like country style fried chix. Ordered the 9 piece to go for $ 11. Server grabbed pieces under the heat lamp. 3 leg, 2 wing, 2 thigh, 2 breast. Live 2 min away and was still piping hot at home. Very juicy and has a latent kick — I think cayenne. I thought i would stop at 2 pieces and ate a third. Between me and 2 kids, it was the perfect amount. It was my first time there and definitley not my last. Happy eating!

I recently ordered a couple cheese pizzas and a few pieces of chicken from NY Fried Chicken and Pizza. Unfortunately after eating the food, I can only give this restaurant 2 out of 5 stars. The pizzas were alright, but nothing special. There was barely any cheese on the pizza and the cheese that was actually on the pizza, was about 20% burnt. The pizza reminded me of the frozen pizzas that you can find in the frozen food section of Stop & Shop. The fried chicken was pretty good, however there wasn’t much quantity on the bone. The pricing was affordable and the delivery was prompt. I don’t believe that I will purchase again from New York Fried Chicken and Pizza unless they produce a higher quality product.

I’ve been here many times. I’ll have to admit, the fried chicken is pretty good most times. Other times it might not be. But be prepared to be eating the most unhealthiest of foods, drowning in grease. It seems as though if you order the food ahead, the worse the quality is. I’m guessing it’s because they aren’t being watched while they put it together, so they feel like they can get rid of the stuff that’s been sitting out. I ordered a burger and fries here once for takeout, and when I got home I almost fell out of my seat because when I opened the bag, the meal looked like it was going to jump out and attack me! The quality of the food here is below school lunch meal status. I felt like I was back in the 4th grade trying to distinguish exactly what the lunch lady placed on my plate. Totally not what I expected when I placed my order. I took one bite and had to throw everything away because the meat was so tough, it seemed like it must’ve been expired. Needless to say, I won’t be making a return trip. I would’ve considered giving them 2 stars for the fried chicken if it weren’t for the horrible burger experience described above. But considering that experience, I just can’t trust the food here. Other notes: — The staff is usually friendly, but pretty inattentive and careless with food handling. — NOT a place you want to sit down and eat. The seats are uncomfortable and the restaurant is just an eye sore.

I will keep this simple: the pizza here is bad. I ordered on a whim one day hoping to find a decent pizza place in the area, and judging from the picture uploaded by the owner and the name of the place, I was extremely optimistic. Don’t be fooled. This isn’t a complaint along the lines of «my hamburger from mcdonalds doesn’t look like the one in the picture!» Either they make the pizza completely differently now or they ran out of the dough they normally use, because that looks nothing like the pizza I got. They serve your garden variety garbage«greek/mediterranean» pizza that somehow has found a home in this area. I cannot emphasize enough how un-New York this pizza is.

I don’t get why this place has such bad reviews. They get the first part of the chicken right. The Fried Chicken is always delicious, cheap and the fries are NOT shoestring like one reviewer said,(I think they upgraded). Salads are whateva but really, the fried chicken is great, not the best Ive ever had in my life but still miles above KFC.

I wish I could put no stars if that was possible. I read the reviews and skeptical but my bf wanted fried chicken so I said why not… such a mistake. I ordered almost 2 hours ago and they forgot to pack my bfs fried chicken and biscuits. And we called right away when the delivery driver came and the owner was very apologetic and we still haven’t received anything and just called again and the owner says«I thought u were only missing biscuits and said an additional 15 minutes. Both I and my bf had talked to him about missing friend chicken. …still waiting and very pissed. Unacceptable never again… I ordered chicken parm and it was so bad I won’t eat it. It was dry not enough sauce and the garlic bread was soggy. Plus owner hasn’t even offered any kind of compensation or free food I will never order from this place again. What a shitshow …

Their pizza is really good. No lie, it’s a good pie every time. Nice thin crust, the closest to New York style I’ve had in Boston, and that makes it my favorite. Careful with the chicken, though. While they include it in the name of the restaurant, anything but the ACTUAL chicken pieces is a rip off and totally disgusting. Fingers, strips, popcorn… If it’s not real chicken pieces, it’s a rip off. Same goes for the fries. They’re tasteless baked shoestrings, and no amount of ketchup can save them. Onion rings are the processed kind, too, so stay away. Again, this is the best pizza I’ve found. Their subs are also good, but don’t bother ordering wraps. They always give it to you on a sub roll, anyway. The nice thing is they’ll put any toppings they have on it, so if you just ask for the works, you get a monster sub. Rating here is 100% for the pizza. Don’t bother with the chicken and fries, but grab a sub and try the meatballs. They’re the store-bought kind, but I like them. :)

I don’t know why it shows a low rating for price when it is actually 2 to 3 $$$‘s. Of course, some prices ARE reasonable. They seem to be friendly, polite and prompt when it comes to deliveries. One of them went to the wrong address(just up the street) but was at my house within minutes from there. The pizza(crust, cheese and sauce) is better than most places in the Brighton area but not the best. IMO. I would give it 3.9 stars. The steak and cheese subs are pretty good if you add a dressing or mayonnaise to juice it up a bit. I like to add Greek dressing to mine. I would give it 3.75 stars. The cheeseburgers are obviously frozen because they are dry without the«works». You will only get it cooked one way because of meat’s thinness… and that is fully cooked. You won’t get medium rare so don’t bother asking, you just won’t get it your way. I give the burgers a 3.5 stars. The french fries are just right… crispy on the outside without being over cooked. I like mine golden brown on the outside(just a tad crispier) and that is why I gave the rating of 4.7 stars. The steaks tips I was very disappointed with. I asked for medium RARE but it was cooked completely through. Still easy to chew at least most pieces were that didn’t have fat on it. The pieces were dry and they were bite size which is fine with me BUT their wasn’t enough of them. I will try them one more time when I am craving for steak tips but if they come to me the same as last time, I will never order them again. For now, I give them a rating of 2.8 stars. Sometimes at ANY Restaurant/delivery joint, your first time eating there/from there is not a good experience but don’t get discouraged just yet. Try it another day. EX: If you ordered on Tuesday and it sucked, try again Friday because it might be better. Usually this can be due to different cooks, how busy it is and they try to get the orders out on time so they rush things OR The cook just does not know how to cook certain foods the way they should be cooked Or he/she simply doesn’t care(always happens on weekends). So Don’t stop going to a store of any kind just because of one bad apple so-to-speak. You might like something else that they have, or your second try at that steak sub just might be primo. Know what I mean? =) I also give them some leeway when they are late. It depends on the weather, how busy it is and of course that new person who gets lost trying to find your house… BUT If I have to constantly complain about either or all the above mentioned then I just will not use their service again. By the way, If the cook did a shitty job, don’t take it out on the delivery guy unless of course he is extremely late.

I am surprised to see bad reviews here… It is so much better than others around. So after reading a few Unilocal reviews, I decided to write a review. This place has the best fried chicken in the area and it is soooo tasty. You can buy the chicken by piece if you want, only $ 1.50 for huge chicken breast or thigh. I would definitely suggest cheese pizza with fried chicken. The sauce has good flavor and thickness is about perfect. if you like thin crust you should ask for New York style pizza… great tasting pizza for a cheap price. Awesome menu with good portions at very reasonable prices. I also like the steak bomb and chicken kabob here… For those who like spicy and crispy fries, this is the place to get them. I almost forgot to mention about popcorn chicken, chicken nuggets and the fish sandwich. I love the fish sandwich with fries and soda deal for $ 5.50 or double cheeseburger sandwich for $ 3.75… A very good, reliable and convenient place, open every day till midnight.

I have lived next to New York Fried Chicken and Pizza for a while and now and have only tried it out within the last month or so. The place has some pretty reasonable prices which in this economy is pretty nice to see. The chicken is actually very decent. I like their breasts but they seem to run out of them a lot. the leg and thigh are pretty good too. When they are fresh it’s pretty crispy and juicy. I would never eat KFC or Popeys, but this place has a certain appeal to it. You can get a good meal for under $ 5. A snack box with a few pieces of chicken, mash potato and a roll and it’ll fill you up. You can get a box with fries too and their fries are very good. A small box is huge. The pizza itself is probably the best in this area. Better than Pizzani’s, Fast Eddies and Andals or whatever it is around the corner. Not as good as Brick House but still pretty good. The delivery is always fast and when you go in for take it the guy working is always pretty cool. I deff suggest trying out their Fried Chicken Breasts with mash and a roll. The boxes come in different types so whatever your in the mood for. The calzones are a pretty good size and it’ll get the job done as well.
