I have an Ignition Interlock Device (aka breathalyzer) in my car, due to a drunk driving charge, which I have to blow into if I’m going to start the engine. There is a number to call for body shops to shut down the device so they can work on it. He assured me they had done this before and not to worry, so I left my keys. However, once the work was finished I got in the car and could not start it as the device read «LOCKOUTVIOL» meaning the mechanic blew into the device breathalyzer to turn the car on after he had been drinking. Let that sink in — he blew into a breathalyzer after drinking. Needless to say I’m enraged and the mechanic is a complete moron to blow into a breathalyzer after drinking. If this doesn’t get squared away I could have my time with the device (which you have to have calibrated and pay a $ 65 monthly charge) extended. I hope that’s not the case but I won’t know until tomorrow, most likely. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Oh, one more thing, they also didn’t bother replacing the damaged fender at all, meaning I need that replaced as well before it rusts out.
