This place is the best! I have been going here for 15 years and it is better every time!

Been going to this place for about 17 years now and have been hard pressed to find anything that even remotely rivals the taste of their bowls. They’re dishes are incredibly flavorful, portions are enormous, and service is impeccable. Ocean County is a food desert in a lot of ways, so it’s nice to have a place like this that’s been around for so long. I will continue to eat here for as long as I have a mouth and it will continue to rank on my list of top 5 favorite places to eat in the world.

I was born and raised in Brick and I think this Mongolian BBQ has been here for about 20 years. Believe it or not I never tried it until my husband who is from NYC and desperate for ethnic food when he is in Brick, asked to try it. I don’t know why I was so hesitant! Everything is very fresh and healthy. You take bowl to the buffet and fill it with meat and/or veggies and then they cook it right in front of you on a hot stone. I rarely eat meat, so I went the veggie route which was still delicious. I was too full for a second bowl, but it is really a good value, a drink, soup, rice(they have brown rice too) and the buffet which is unlimited. Definitely worth a try!

Faaaaaaantastic Mongolian BBQ. Only advice is to make sure you come in with an empty stomach.

Been eating here since 2002. Love it. If you don’t like your food it is because you suck at picking food and have no one to blame but yourself.

The. rice. is. a. trap. xD Okay not really. Sort of. It’s good rice, but it isn’t about the rice! The food is great and I think I have more fun watching people try to pile five feet of noodles into their bowls. The sign outside says: «MONGOLIANBBQ» so if you’re looking for one that says«PJ Lee’s» you’re going to get lost. I’m pretty sure most of the letters have burn out too so you may be better off looking for«MONGO B».

If I could give this zero stars I would. I’ve been coming to this place since I was born and yesterday when I was home for break the place was DISGUSTING. The food looked like it has been sitting out for a day, the water chestnuts I got were rotten in my food and when we went to pay, a cockroach crawled across the counter toward the grill. Th best part is the cashier simply threw a phone book on top of it and continued working. Needless to say I felt very sick to my stomach after and will not be returning ever.

Absolutely misleading. They say you can take home extra food in a container before 4 pm for an extra charge of $ 1. Then, when you ask for a container they change the rule and you aren’t allowed to bring home the rest of your meal that YOUPAIDFOR. Not only that, the woman waitress with two toned hair and a nose piercing is completely rude, disrespectful, and I’d go as far to say repulsive in the manner in which she treats people, especially customers who come to this establishment. I used to come here fairly often, but I will NEVEREVER come here again. Especially after the way I was treated when I was inquisitive about the«new» container rule. Not only that, after I left I saw her through the window TAKEMYLEFTOVERFOOD and put it in a container and then EATOUTOFIT. So, I’m not sure if she imposed the rule so she can have customers left over food or if it is a legitimate rule she has taken advantage of. Poor service, poor quality, and completely not worth the hassle.

Been going here for years. Truly a hole in the wall. With reasonable prices, quick, self serve service it is the best! Great for lunch with a friend. Lots of options and you can pick exactly how much of everything you want. One of my favorites!

ALLYOUCANEAT Those four words are usually, to me, like four letter words: dirty, misused, low, for older adults only. But in this case, the food you get is actually pretty good quality. Sure you have to work harder for it, but that’s half the fun, right? FOOD: It’s all you can eat, serve yourself, they cook for you kinda place. They do bring out rice and your choice of soup, which I’d say save them the time and food waste and just say PASS. The good stuff is in that buffet line. Go straight there. Collect your bowl. Pile your choice of ingredients high. Seriously, because they’ll reduce so pile about about three inches or so higher if you want a nice full bowl. I personally like using all three meat choices AND tofu. And I like using almost all the produce they allow, with special attention to broccoli and mushrooms and spicy stuff. The Hunan sauces are good. Make sure you use both the sweet AND sour ones tho. I like all the toppings too. But the beauty is that you can make it how you want. SERVICE: Service is friendly enough. I had a very nice server. But the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. I mean, personally, I like divey places like this. So I don’t mind. I like it. It’s about the food here. I like that. VALUE: The value is pretty strong for this kind of all you can eat. I mean it’s not Brawny strong or body building strong. But $ 12 a person for all you can eat dinner that doesn’t suck is pretty good. Granted, the choices are slim but good slim choices. OVERALL: I’d recommend this place. It was a good experience and fresh and really hot and the food tasted good. DISCLAIMER: I do know the owner of this place thru a professional relationship and he gave me a gift card to try his Mongolian BBQ. But he did not ask me to review it or make me enjoy it so much lol.

This place is a hidden gem! It’s an all you can eat restaurant you feel good about. You get to pick from thinly sliced beef, chicken and/or pork that are frozen, then add any number of veggies and pick from a bunch of delicious sauces. You then have your bowl cooked fresh right in front of you on a round grill which takes no more than 1 – 2 minutes. Service is always friendly and the seating is plentiful. Highly recommended!

Best food to eat on a snowy day. Way less starchy and heavy than chinese. Tastes best when you eat in as all the sauces get absorbed into the takeout carton. Come here for their chicken noodle soup if you’re feeling under the weather and load your bowl with lots of garlic, ginger, and hot pepper. It warms you right up. I’ve been to other mongolian barbecue places but their sauces don’t taste like this one. A friend of mine once said that the food here tastes ‘like home’ Who doesn’t love a big bowl of veggies and noodles from the hibachi?

Greatest Mongolian food I’ve ever had. Multiple steps above your average Chinese take out place. Cheap, delicious, and fully customizable. Can’t go wrong at this place. Lunch only costs seven dollars, you can pick what you want and how much, get it cooked right in front of you, and the food is very high quality. How can you beat that?

I had to write a review on this place because ever since I lived across the street from it 7 years ago, it set the standard for what Mongolian BBQ should be like. I’ve sought after this in California and elsewhere ever since and always held every other place against this one. They have rarely been as good. I’m not going to go into detail about«and denn dey put it on a big flat gu-rill and denn you eat it!» blah blah. that’s what Mongolian bbq IS. So redundant to describe that. I’m just commenting on the quality of the food.

I have been coming here since I was a kid, so maybe I am a little biased. I love it! It used to be called Mongolian BBQ, but the place hasn’t changed at all! You choose what meats and veggies you want, plus noodles and then you add in your own sauces and they cook it right in front of you. For lunch you can eat up to three bowls, and for dinner you eat as much as you want. I don’t know how anyone can eat more than one whole bowl though! Especially since before you even get to that part, you have the option of either white or brown rice and veggie or chicken soup. The one thing that bothers me is that you used to be able to bring home whatever you couldn’t finish as long as it was your first bowl. But I think that people were taking advantage of that, and they no longer allow you to bring it home. I usually prefer to to do takeout.

Holy shit it’s so good! You get an empty bowl that you fill with whatever shit you want, then some dude cooks it and you eat it the end. They give you the worst soup with your meal and you get a rice that’s not bad. And the atmosphere is shit. But whatever, you go there for the big ass bowl of noodles, not soup or to meet chicks. Eat it up fatty.

We come here often enough to know what to expect; a tasty abundance of … wait for it … Mongolian Barbeque. No more, no less. If you don’t like the way your ‘Bowl’ taste after it’s been cooked, look no further than yourself since you prepared it. The place is not very big, not very clean, and not very expensive. When we feel the need for Mongolian this does the trick. It is what it is. ~

I’ve had takeout from here a few times now and I can honestly say that it will be awhile before I return to any kind of usual greasy spoon Chinese kitchen take-out. For $ 8.95 you get a soup, your choice of rice and the create your own dish. You can choose beef, pork, chicken or just keep it vegetarian. The selection of fresh vegetables is impressive. Far from the standard broccoli, onion and carrot medley you can also choose from snap peas, baby corn, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, peppers and tons of others. Their homemade sauces ranging from Szechuan, Hunan, sesame to regular soy are all homemade and absolutely delicious. They also have lo-mein noodles(yes, lo-mein AND rice — Dr. Atkins is spinning in his grave right now). The best part is the toppings that you pick after your dish has been fried up in front of you. They offer peanuts, sesame seeds, fresh pinapple, and my favorite the homemade hot pepper sauce. Service is usper-friendly and I can’t understand for the life of me why this place always seems so empty on the weekends.

Having now been to a handful of Mongolian joints in the same vein as Lee’s, I can say with confidence that this is a rare jewel — one of those high quality, great bang-for-your-buck places that can easily be missed because of its unassuming strip-mall location(it’s between a Manhattan Bagels and a beauty school). What makes Lee’s special? — Ingredients are fresh and of good quality. Unlike chain joints like Crazy Fire, the meats here are sliced uniformly and flash-frozen properly(not part-frozen-solid-part-sticky-soggy). True, here you don’t have the option of throwing in shrimp, calamari or scallops right at the bar(though for a couple of bucks you can have the cook throw in shrimp), but if the quality of said seafood is crappy(I’m looking at you, Crazy Fire), then what’s the point?! Give me the basics and give them to me of good quality, and I’m a happy girl. Also, the sauces here are a bit more tasty than they are at chain locations. — It’s BYOB. This always wins brownie points, doesn’t it? — Value. They have a one bowl lunch setup and an all you can eat dinner setup — fairly standard, I know. But for the price you’re getting your round-grilled goodies plus soup(choice of chicken or veggie) plus rice(choice or white or brown). Lee’s is one of our go-to’s when we’re local and visiting family. It’s a fairly well kept secret, but frequented by enough regulars to keep the place kicking. If you’re in the area, bypass all the nearby chains looking to fill you with one app and two entrees of fried foods and gloppy sauces for $ 20, and spend your dollars on fresh, healthy eats. Your tastebuds and overall health will thank you, and you’ll be helping a local business!

Holy yummy vegetables Batman! I had been staring at this place for a while, debating whether or not the food could be good. Honestly, the old people are what made me think twice, see they’re old and their taste buds are not what they used to be. But one day I was feeling brave and walked in, then I realized I had the wrong idea about this place. I thought it was an order from a plastic menu joint where stale rice and a greasy egg roll comes with everything you order, not the case! Instead I walked in to find one of those big Mongolian BBQ grill, fresh vegetables laid out for the choosing and shaved meats! I also noticed they had some dumplings on the menu, suddenly this was looking like something I wouldn’t soon regret. Did I mention it’s all you can eat?! I piled my bowl high with veggies, covered it in spicy sauce and went to town! I could’ve easily spent an afternoon here stuffing my face with grilled veggies and the dumplings were awesome! The dough was just the right amount of mushy and the filling was well seasoned and not a skimped out portion either. For about 15 bucks I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience and can’t wait to keep messing with meat, veggie and spice combinations in the future!
