I’m not from around here so I’m basing this review around New York standards. That having been said, The place is very nice inside, 50’s based and even had the 50’s music playing which was cool. They also have a chalkboard wall and chalk available if you are ambitious enough to show your stuff. Now the food. I had a hamburger with bacon and guacamole(a California burger). So what do you get when you pair up a tasteless burger with tasteless generic guacamole? Yeah, not good. Besides no taste, the burger fell apart at first bite so most of the guacamole fell off and I didn’t have a fork and waitress disappeared. We were the only ones in there. I also had the onion rings with ranch which is my new obsession. They were fair, at least they were made with whole onions. All in all my recommendation would be to skip this place unless you are dying to hear some cool music from the 50’s.

This was the slowest I’ve seen this place operate. We arrived for a quick dinner, couple kids pancakes and a lumpy burger. The place was Empty, not a sole inside. We ordered dinner at 5:35 and had to request the cakes to go at 5:57 because we had to leave by 6:00. One pancake wasn’t even plated yet. FYI: The lumpy burger arrived at the table at 5:47 The main waitress said they were in training, keep training you have a lot to learn. The kids vowed to not return and there only 7.

I’ve been here a few times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is average and what I’d expected for a typical diner. What makes this place 5 stars is the value for your dollar and the service which is outstanding. Every time, the servers are friendly and outgoing. They make sure your visit is the best. I’ve never had an issue with any of them.

Family’s egg ordered wasn’t salted at all and food was somewhat overcooked … my kids will usually finished anything, but that was too much for them!

I really wanted to like this place but I can’t get over the food. If you put an item on the menu with Swiss cheese and avocado, I except Swiss cheese(not white American cheese) and avocado(not packaged guacamole). That shows the level of care in their ingredients and for what they serve. It would have been 1 star if not for the excellent service.

Twenty Five minutes with only three orders ahead of mine? Please delete«Express» from your name. I thought giving a 20% tip on a takeout order would garner at least a little expediency. The orders after mine were ready before mine was complete. I had a simple order of 3 Cheeseburgers and two orders of fries. The reason given for the delay was they were waiting on one of my fry orders to cook. Wouldn’t they cook both orders at the same time? I like the sit down Lumpy’s in Antioch… I’ll keep patronizing that location. Is the ownership different at the Express?

We decided to try Lumpy’s Diner, a very popular place in Brentwood, CA. We went for breakfast. I guess I ordered the two worst things on their menu! Biscuits and gravy, with a cup of fresh fruit. The sad lil biscuit was straight out of a can, and the gravy was runny, cold, and needless to say… the worst I have ever had!!! I sent it back to re-heat, and it came back the same, the biscuit was just hotter! Every piece of fruit tasted the same because it had(obviously) been sitting in the same bowl for ??? long… it was mushy and… just bad. My husband had bacon and eggs which were pretty good, except the hash browns were rather burnt, dry. They use frozen hash browns obviously, and they should use fresh. Their coffee was good and the service was good…

Soooo, our waitress slash happy go lucky b**** Shannon is the BOMB!!! She is so wonderful and always remembers my name. Couldn’t ask for a friendlier staff. They never give me a hard time when I tweak my order to accommodate my P2P diet. Love the food and love that Shannon. Lumpy’s in Brentwood is RAD!!!

I have to start off by saying that I’m addicted to breakfast burritos. I love em. I would eat them every day if I could. Probably the only regret I had about moving up to Northern California from Los Angeles was that my drive to my favorite breakfast burrito was now going to be over 6 hours. I had to find a new spot. After being disappointed by another nearby restaurant’s breakfast burrito, my wife ordered me to go to some place called Lumpy’s to try and get my fix. She called Lumpy’s in advance for me since I was dropping my daughter off at school and, according to her, was helped by a very nice woman. As I walked in I got a really good feeling. The place was clean and the reception I got was great. The woman behind the counter(Shannon) was SUPER friendly. She guessed correctly that I was the person looking for a breakfast burrito based off whatever my wife had just told her on the phone about me(that can’t be good). I ordered my food, 2 breakfast burritos, one with linguica the other with bacon. Both contained scrambled eggs and potatoes cooked with onions and peppers. She also gave me a few cups of salsa and also gave me extra when I asked for it. I liked my burrito so much that we went back 2 days later for more. This time I got the hot link breakfast burrito. It might have been even better than the first one. Even if the food wasn’t great(it was) I would have given them another shot just based off the customer service I received from«happy go lucky» Shannon. I’ll definitely be back.

Good diner. Good prices and friendly service. This is a diner folks, not a 5 star restaurant and as far as diners go, they are pretty good. I will stop again.

This place is probably the best diner styled place I’ve ever been too. And I have been to maaaany. If I could give them more than five stars I would. The food is really good, service is amazing and the prices are unbeatable. My boyfriend and I both got burgers for under 7 dollars each and they were better than burger joints like red robins etc. The style of the place is really cute too! We live about two hours away but I will definitely be coming back! I got the buffalo bleu burger and he got the piggly wiggly. And the gold digger! All for about $ 35.

To all those posting negative reviews and bitching about no manager– give these guys a break. «Lumpy’s owner, Jeremy Sturgill, is being remembered for his great food, warm personality and generosity to the community. The Antioch Herald reports Strugill, known as Lumpy, died Tuesday. He founded „Lumpy’s Diner“ in Antioch and Pittsburg and a „Lumpy’s Express“ restaurant in Brentwood. Jun 17, 2015» My family and I have eaten here, and got take out, on multiple occasions. Food has always been great. Service is always on the slower side, but not a train wreck. This place gets BUSY and regulars know that. They also know that when something like the above happens, it impacts staff, and morale. Full marks to these guys for stepping up and doing the best they can under the circumstances.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I live right down the street and gave my son and nephew 20 $ They get one medium combo and 2 cheeseburgers. They bring home the soggiest burger that I have ever tried to eat. I threw it down the garbage disposal! I called them and there was no manager. So I talked to some happy go lucky bitch trying to maintain composure while she’s speaking in a friendly snappy tone(basically telling me I’m shit outta luck) So in the end: 1 soggy burger, 2 soggy cheeseburgers, 1 flat soda for 20 $. Fries were ok. Only got 1 half order with the combo tho. Highly overated! Watch out. Go to KFC or taco bell and feed the family for 20 $

TERRIBLE. Tried to call in a order. Lady put me on hold for 10 min, but she just put the phone down so I could hear everything. So I hung up and she didn’t put phone back on the hook for a while. Oh well lost a lot of customers today. Smh

To be honest, I forgot about this location until I got a flier on my car about new ownership. We love the other Lumpy’s so I gave this place a shot. I called in a to-go order for breakfast and was pleased with the customer service. The lady taking my order was super friendly and accommodating. I wanted my favorite order: the breakfast quesadilla. Unfortunately they don’t have the exact same menu as the other location; but instead of telling me that, the lady asked what goes in it and said they’d be happy to make it for me! That’s awesome customer service. Service was quick and friendly and the food was perfect! We will definitely be going back, especially since this location is right next to my gym and I’m always starving when I leave!

I always get my breakfast burrito made with real eggs, country potatoes, avocado, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, and jalapeños. Services is always great. They are the best! PS: The vegetarian burgers are also very tasty!

The food here is really good, I was starrrrving & ordered the veggie scramble with hash browns for dinner(yes, I do live the thug life & eat breakfast at night!), everything came out perfect & the plate was pretty big for the price too. I needed a take-out box because there was so much food! The girl that was working was sooooo nice! She answered all of our questions & even made sure there was no dairy or cheese in my breakfast! The décor is really cool too, it’s classic Diner style with tons of signs all over & a lot of cool stuff to look at!

I got a recent Groupon for this place and was quite excited at coming for Dinner one day, Burgers do not fit into my regular daily diet due to intense workout sessions so coming here is a treat for me and after looking at the menu and seeing the cheap prices I knew it was going to be a huge cheat day. The staff are great here but the food. not so much. I think the 4 stars overall is incredibly generous and whilst in the restaurant I looked for other local business’s on my Unilocal app and noticed that Taco Bell next door has 5 stars overall out of 6 reviews. yes, Taco Bell! That doesn’t give me much faith in the locals opinions of awesome food. Anyhow, the staff, very friendly, upbeat and helpful. We discovered that the address listed was incorrect and when we called to get directions the young girl on the line was excellent at directing us to the right place. The address is actually 7760 Brentwood Blvd. I have sent 2 requests for Unilocal to change it but they haven’t yet. To try and use up a $ 30 Groupon we went a little crazy: * Cheeseburger, $ 3 special price, usually $ 4.49 which I upgraded to Bison for an extra $ 2.99( ) — Messy assembly, very thin patty. I honestly couldn’t tell that is was even Bison, usually you can really tell the difference in the meat quality, fresh Salad but I don’t think the same could be said for the Wheat bun, it tasted a little stale. * Bacon Cheeseburger, $ 5.99 + $ 2.99 for Bison.( ) — Bacon was overcooked, another thin patty, assembly was slightly better * Chicken Strips, $ 5.99( ) — Nice sized portion, crispy, good seasoning, didn’t taste too fresh. Hubby questioned if it was actually Chicken. Oh dear… * Ballpark Fries, #3.99( ) — Disappointing. Garlic was just piled on top of the fries instead of being mixed in, also found lumps of Onion in the Garlic blend which I’m pretty certain ballpark fries do not have, Garlic was strong and fries cooked well but lacked any kind of flavor on their own. * Oreo Milkshake, $ 3.99( ) Wooow. Best part of the meal. Ok, so it must have consumed a whole day’s worth of calories and 2 or 3 days worth of fat but it was soooo worth it. Huge cup, thick and creamy with chunks or Oreo in every bite. Yes, you read that. bite! It was so thick it was like eating a Sundae. * Strawberry Shake, $ 3.99( ) Hubby was less impressed than I was stating ”it’s just Ice Cream with Strawberry Syrup and the Cream isn’t very good”. For the food I would honestly give this no more than 2 stars but the service and Milkshake is what bumped it up to a 3 for me. Décor is your typical Diner. with the odd booth seat and stalls to sit at, a Fridge containing soft drinks disguised as a gas pump and 3TV’s tuned into sports channels. It’s not waitress service, instead you order at the till and collect your food by order number when it is ready. There is also outdoor seating and you can purchase Lumpy’s merchandise with your meal. *TIP* This location does not serve Breakfast nor does it have the ”Big Appetite Challenge” menu as seen on Outrageous Food. For that you must go to the Antioch or Pittsburg locations.
