Sorry to say that Gabby’s is closed. Try What a Grind on 2nd Street for good coffee.

I went to Gabby’s a few weeks ago to give their coffee another try and it was marginally better than before. Sadly, that was too little too late to save yet another Downtown Brentwood small business from closing shop(Sad trombone sound).

Next up on my fabulous local restaurant tour was Gabby’s Grind. This is a smaller but cozy little coffee shop behind Sweeney’s. On the menu this time around were samples of their chicken salad wrap, spinach salad, a chocolate cookie bite and either coffee or lemonade. The bites were good, I was somewhat enamored with the chicken salad wrap and salad. My dining partner was disappointed with their coffee, he said it tasted burnt, bummer. Not sure if I’ll be back, we’ll see.

I just found this place a few days ago, and I’m thrilled that Downtown Brentwood DOES have a coffee shop! I didn’t have my wallet, so I wasn’t able to buy anything. Very adorable place though, from the looks of it. I wish they were open on the weekends, at least on Saturday. They are only open on Saturdays during the Farmers Market season. I think the downtown needs a coffee shop open on the weekends to stroll to, and enjoy a nice weekend morning reading the newspaper. Since then, I’ve gone in during the Farmers market on Saturday. I got an iced caramel latte, and it was really good. I like that they actually use caramel SAUCE(not syrup). Very sweet people working there…

I used to work down the street at a small town real estate office and I used to frequent Gabby’s Grind for lunch. The owners are really sweet and accomodating. Their lunches are pretty good. Such the home made feeling to it. My favorite thing there though is their Iced Tea. Yummy! If your in downtown Brentwood and are looking for a healthier alternative, check out Gabby’s Grind!

Went here for an impromptu lunch today in Brentwood. This place is also a gift shop and they sell coffee beans here. Everyone here is very sweet and friendly. In fact their service gets 5 stars. We ordered a soup, sandwich and a salad. Those were just okay although the salad was dripping in dressing which is not usually how I like it. While were we there, they had a huge party there and I was impressed with how accommodating they were too them. It was just an okay meal served by really sweet people.
