I’m giving this place two stars because the food is not bad. Here is my experience: we ordered three sandwiches, received them in a reasonable amount of time, my son was holding his sandwich and by the third bite said, «EW!» He showed me the inside of his sandwich and there was a large black bug in it. I quietly brought the sandwich into the shop and showed it to the front cashier. I didn’t say anything I just looked at the sandwich and looked at the cashier because I did not want to say anything with other patrons listening. He brought the sandwich back to the kitchen where the ladies making the sandwiches all looked at me, looked at the sandwich and said ‘oh my God’ and ‘oh gross’. The owner did not come out and talk to me, the cashier came back to me and said, «there’s no way anything came from the kitchen it must’ve come from outside.» At that point the owner came out and did not apologize, she said she’d make me another sandwich. My son didn’t want to eat anymore at that point and that’s what I said. She then defended her kitchen, saying that there’s no way a bug could be in her kitchen. I didn’t want to argue in front of her customers and asked if she’d like to discuss outside. She did t want to and she asked in an exasperated voice what I want. At that point, I just needed to go outside because I could not believe that a small business owner could have such poor service. She offered to give me a refund and I just put my hands in a ‘time-out’ position and said I’m going outside, you can do whatever you want. There was no further discussion. My daughter and I finished our lunch, my son had some of our sandwiches and we left. My family enjoyed coming here for lunches on occasion– we will no longer bring our business here. Bugs can happen in a kitchen, especially when there’s produce… That’s not my issue; being told that the bug must have gotten in between the bread, turkey, tomato and lettuce after we received the sandwich is my issue.

I love Dino’s!!! The manager takes time to get to know you and even learns your name. The sandwiches are awesome and service is pretty fast considering how busy it usually is.

My husband ordered the The Don, my son and daughter got custom made sandwiches. We also ordered the potato salad and the pasta salad! Everything was AMAZING! We will be returning every Saturday after we walk the Farmers Market! Great job Dino, you are the best sandwich place in town!

Wow! They make one helluva sandwich. They stack the meat high and the Dutch crust is one of the absolute best I’ve ever had. Add garlic sauce and you got yourself the complete sandwich.

I went there today for lunch with my daughter for the first time. The macaroni salad was good, the salami and provolone on dutch crunch was amazing! Even the grilled cheese for my little one was tasty. I expected it to be pretty good because of the previous reviews, but was happy to find it even better than anticipated. I will definitely be back.

Great service, sandwich was excellent. Dutch crunch was fantastic and it’s hard to find good dutch. Prompt service and friendly staff. Kind of hard to find though. I got a recommendation from a friend but i had no idea they were even there. Definitely a good place to check out! Standard deli with a lot of variety in what you can order.

This is without a doubt the best sandwich deli in the Brentwood/Oakley/Antioch area! Their sandwiches are amazingly good, the portions and ingredients are substantial and they new owner along with his crew are amazing people. I’m a ham and cheese type of dude and I’ve tried it everywhere and this place knocks it out of the park! So if your in the area and want an amazing deli sandwich… stop by and get your grub on! They are right behind Sweenys and next to La Costa in Brentwood.

LOVE my sandwich! I got the Turkey that comes with cheese and bacon. I got it with everything and avocado minus the mayo and mustard. If you get the garlic sauce(which is beyond awesome) then you really don’t need mayo or mustard! Yes, Dino is a bit grumpy but it wasn’t as bad as some people make it out. Who knows… working with the public is never a walk in the park anyway! The place is clean and the sandwiches are Pickles is my favorite place for a sandwich but Dino’s is my new favorite sandwich shop that is close to school!

Spot on sandwiches. I had the pastrami with swiss on rye. They asked if I wanted it hot, and I agreed. I thought it would be toasted but I hadn’t asked for it toasted, my mistake. The pastrami was warmed up though. When I got my sandwich I was a bit confused, I kinda took it apart a bit. The owner must have seen this and came over to ask if everything was ok. I said yes, but the hubby told him I thought it would be toasted. The owner offered to make it the way I wanted. I declined because it really was my mistake, not them. The pastrami was delicious and for sure get the garlic spread. The customer service was really excellent. We will be back! Kids loved their turkey sandwiches and hubby is planning his next sandwich. Get the punch card because you will be back!

My parents moved to Brentwood about a year ago and this is hands down our favorite lunch spot in the area. The sandwiches are a good size and made exactly the way you want to eat them with even toppings throughout. I love their Dutch crunch bread and their house special garlic sauce. They have great customer service, last time I was there they made a mistake with our order and had no problem taking it back and remaking it to our liking.

You live in the area but never been to Dino’s? What? This place was highly recommended and while waiting for my car to get serviced, I needed a place to eat that had WiFi. I would have settled with Chinese but I am glad I didn’t because Dino’s is GOOD. I ordered the Godfather with potato salad with the Dutch crunchy bread. I also opted to have both garlic and pepper sauce on my sub. The potato salad tasted like it was homemade! None of that scooped-from-a-giant-potato-salad-tub-from-Smart And Final-tasted. it had the right amount of dill taste to it. The crunchy Dutch bread was amazing; I have not had bread on a sub like that before. I recommend that over the sour dough bread. The meat was piled high and was flavorful and was further enhanced by both the garlic and pepper sauce. I cant wait to try the other sandwiches in their menu. Service was top notch and the environment is very friendly. This is how a family run business should be. And yes there is fast WiFi so I was able to be on my phone while having lunch. The place is pretty tucked in and easy to mis; I walked by the place 3 times before realizing where it is. if you passed the VFW, you already missed it. This place is a local neighborhood favorite and now I know why. Cant wait to go back again.

Today was my first Dino’s visit. I had spent the day with my 5 year old doing school things for Halloween. It was 3pm before I realized I hadn’t eaten and I was becoming a Snickers commercial. I turned to Unilocal!to find a decent sandwich place and stumbled upon a list of «Brentwood’s best sandwich shops» — my normal goto places coming in at spots 2 and 3. Dino’s was #1 on the list and I’d never heard of them. That changed today. I walked in around 3:15 — 3:30 and found the place full of local footballers seemingly just out of school or practice and about 6 people in what resembled a line. The place smelled good and had a cozy, almost pub-like feel to it. The gentleman taking orders and seemingly running things at the time was plain-spoken and kind. The few people in front of me stood in line patiently and quietly except the lady in front of me who’s party she was ordering for was sitting across the room. She repeatedly shouted to them in the best Roseanne Roseannadanna voice. I heard her yell«whaddaya want?!» like 40 times and then expect them to yell the response back. Sometimes they did, sometimes they ran to her. It took WAY too long for this order process and was WAY too irritating, but not much fault for Dino’s. Meh… I was determined. I wanted my sandwich — just like it was written on the special board: «Dinostrami». When my time came, I talked to the nice guy at the register. He rang in my order and my son’s special request(not on the menu) of a cheese quesadilla — which they took and customized for him! After waiting for my order I realized it was gonna take long enough that I should probably pick up a sando for my wife as well, so I ordered her a turkey special. Funny thing was as I was taking her order on the phone it was almost like she was reading the standard ingredients of their version right off the menu board. They made sure it all came out together. I love small towns! When the time came to dive into our sandwiches, it was epic. Seriously my favorite sandwich is the pastrami on rye from Katz’s Deli, but I have to admit the Dinostrami was epic. If you ever get a chance to order it(it was a daily special), don’t change a thing. It’s perfect how it is. Yes, PERFECT. Sorry there are no pictures. After my first bite I blacked out and only regained consciousness when I was licking my fingers and feeling really full. Only wrappers remained. The wife was so enthralled with the turkey sandwich she almost passed out for forgetting to breathe. I had a bite — I was only allowed one — and it was better than any other turkey sando I’ve ever had. Seriously. Not kidding. These sandwiches are up there with Deli Board in SF. This is really good food here in the homeland. We need to make this place an institution in the Delta. Damn! Good! Sandwiches!

Total 5 Star sammich shop! The have egg salad & it’s awesome! The beads are always super fresh and the sandwiches I’ve had taste like home cooking. Unlike other places that probably buy stuff from Costco & slap it between 2 pieces of old ass bread! Everything is full of flavor, and the service is awesome. Everyone is so friendly & welcoming in here, they truly care about making everyone happy!
