I tried the body wrap the day after a 10K run. My muscles were sore and fatigued. My experience was fabulous. I was comfortable even standing there in my underwear and sports bar. I was told exactly what was happening. I even got a peaceful nap. I lost inches which after several months have remained off. But best of all the soreness was totally gone! I was amazed. And while I still had some fatigue I could move without pain. People who have this after workout soreness understand what a big deal that is. And the price is out of this world. I do plan on going back after my next 10K.

I had my first body wrap and infrared sauna in August. I was a little hesitant, but Carmina made me feel at ease as she wrapped my body. She explained the procedure & when I was all wrapped up, she put me in a cozy body suit, then onto a heated bed. HEAVENLY! She said the process would be about 30 minutes and I immediately fell asleep! When Carmina took off the wraps, she measured me. i lost 18 inches! I was thrilled! Then I went immediately to the infrared sauna which is a total experience in itself. Private, calm, and with a full bottle of water, I lost another 8 inches. The Brentwood Vitality Spa is a blessing to anyone who has chronic pain, or who just wants a relaxing experience. I signed up for the $ 149 special and received unlimited monthly infrared sauna AND unlimited foot detox baths. The next month, I treated myself to the $ 99 infrared sauna and $ 149 for five, yes FIVE body wraps. This spa offers special where you will save hundreds of dollars throughout the year. As a newly diagnosed diabetic, my doctor is very pleased with my steady sugar count and my low blood pressure. I am very happy with my inches off(which have NEVER come back!) and my soft smooth skin. I will be checking out the new specials after Christmas. I will combine the infrared sauna, the body wrap and the foot detox! Please call the spa, and treat yourself and your health!

UPDATE: The spa is now closed but Melissa Kirk is still at In Shape giving those awesome massages. Be sure to go and get one! Update: I have been using the infrared sauna for MONTHS now and I feel better than ever before. The chronic pain in my shoulder is now gone! Dr. Oz is right: infrared sauna rocks… A division of Brentwood Massage, this cozy, intimate spa is located near the swimming pool In Shape City(Balfour @Griffith) in Brentwood. You don’t have to be a member of In Shape to get treatments, I have noticed that the spa is mainly open from 9am-1PM. Then closed until 4PM and open from 4 – 8. Weekend hours are somewhat limited so it pays to call ahead. With one of the very few infrared saunas open to the public, Vitality focuses on improving client health through detoxifying via infrared sauna, detox footbath, body wraps, and massage. I particularly enjoy the infrared sauna, which feels a lot different than the steam or dry regular saunas. According to Vitality, this is due to to the ability of the infrared rays to penetrate deep into the body. However it works– it feels great! I have chronic pain due to a rotator cuff injury and taking sauna treatments 3 – 5 times per week really helps with the inflammation. An added bonus is the weight loss I have begun to experience which I think is because I drink TONS of water when I use it and flush out a lot of gunk in my body. I did try the foot detox also and am looking forward to having a body wrap. Overall, the staff is extremely helpful and always make sure I am adequately hydrated. Don’t take my word for it.
