This place is a local institution. Do yourself a favor and stop by here before hitting up Game Stop, prices are better in many cases, and service is WAY better. Also for MTG boosters, stop paying Target’s prices for those ridiculous over wrapped single packs.

Before I say anything about this store I must say I am a huge supporter of retro gaming stores. I do realize it’s a tough business to keep running and that’s why I’ll always give my support… That being said, this is not the case for Brentwood game exchange. This place on first look is great but after seeing their products and dealing with it’s staff is quite shocking to say the least. I went in on a Wednesday last month to go check out the N64 game selection there. A lot of the cartridges were disgustingly dirty. Not only on the outside but the connecters inside looked awful. The games selection was not bad but the only game I saw that was worth the buy was Goldeneye. They had two copies one stacked on top of one another. I turned to find an employee, since noone greeted me at the door, and saw two guys talking behind a counter. One of the guys working finally opened up the case and grabbed one of the copies. I noticed the second copy was a lot cleaner and asked to get that one instead. The employee huffed in frustration and grabbed the other one. While he was ringing me up I asked if he had any snes’ in stock, but he seemed much more interested in his conversation with his buddy than getting business. I work in a customer service position and it really blows my mind that these guys are still in business. If you are in the area and you should just go to 4Jays in Antioch. They are much better service wise and price for that matter.

Same day repair… Within an hour. Great customer service. Otter boxes for $ 25 which is reasonable considering how much they sell them at the mall. $ 129 for iPhone 6 cracked screen(entire screen was cracked). Also have sales of used phones, iPads, tablets, handheld game consoles. It was cool to see vintage game consoles like sega, Nintendo, Super Nintendo.

Our Son broke my screen to my iPad. I Dropped my iPad off on 10÷18÷15. I came to this place 10÷19÷15 to pick it up cause the guy was only going to charge me 90 $ to repair it! It was the cheapest we found and I was told it would be ready first thing in the morning will I decided to show up around 2303 o’clock in the afternoon to give them some time just in case… it was almost done… and like the saying goes under some circumstances… you get what you pay for! The gentlemen forgot to take off the plastic protector after sealing my iPad shut with the glue and heat gun. I explained to him when I looked at it that there was something under my screen he kept claiming it’s just the plastic on the front so I pulled the plastic off and showed him that there was something inside after him sitting there in my face telling me I’m pretty much wrong etc then told me it was my fault I was making him nervous! He had to go back reopen my iPad and take the film off and close it back up gave it back to me and I noticed the screen they replaced had spider web like cracks in the corners. I had to wait another hour for the other owner to come with a replacement cause they ran out at that location… he put it on and it looks like water damage marks and he said it was because of the film they took off the glass and could not wipe it off… I asked him to please put on a different one he said he only brought one with him he didn’t think that something was going to happen then he said he doesn’t have anymore I would have to wait till late tonight when the shipment comes in… I was told they could ship it to me because I was from out of the area and I told them no because I did not want them to break it even more and blame it on the shipment process! I was also told I could have a case for free for the inconvenience. I was very upset with this and my wife told them that since we have to go home within messed up iPad that they caused she wants a bigger discount… The guy said 60 she said 40 we got it for 40 he takes the cases away and says you either choose the discount or the case I’m not giving both the cases are $ 20…we chose to take the discount even though I feel like both were well deserving because this is a very sentimental expensive electronic that his company continue to screw up even more and make all these excuses and blaming me… there was a couple after me with a cell phone. they had some problems with their screen as well but chose just to take it anyway like I did… I do not recommend this place I will not go back to this place I’m very disappointed and upset!(On top of this madness they had a universal PS3 and some video games my wife wanted and has been looking all over for she bought them and I looked at them and said look how much they screwed up and she still giving money to this company because I know how long she’s been looking for these five items!!! They didn’t seem to care at all…) I feel like these two men felt that they could pull out the stupid card and take advantage of us females and we’re not your average females so sorry your Bluffs didn’t fool us!!! *furious and disappointed I do not trust you guys*

Nice place to get old systems and retro games at, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. Still a nice place to visit just to look at all the old games and reminisce.

Went here today with my fiancé. My first impression was«omg, it smells really bad in here.» Anyway, they have a TON of video games in this store. I’m talking cases and cases upon cases of old school video games and consoles. I’m pretty sure I even saw an Atari for sale. I was SO excited when I saw a blue gun that I used to play with for Duck Hunt when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old with our neighbors. So my fiancé had been looking EVERYWHERE for Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution for the XBOX360 because there was a trailer for the game when he bought his console and it was the only game that appealed to me(I don’t play video or computer games) so he was on a quest to find it to play it with me. Fortunately, we found it here at this store! The kid eating Sun Chips behind the counter gave us a discount(the sticker price, pretax, was $ 24.99 used) and we got it for, including tax, $ 24.02. This was a LOT better than what we had been quoted by other stores that could order it(between $ 50 new -$ 30 used) It was in pristine condition with the manual. There are TONS of XBOX360 games for buy 2 get one free. Pretty snazzy deal!

So I made the hour trip to get out here to see what my brother brought light to me. I would never want to live in Brentwood. Oh Dear Lord no. Wow. So I get in and I can’t help but notice that this place looks like classic Funcoland. You know, it was GameStop before they bought out every other video game store becoming one of the top fifty stores in the world. I’m not joking by the way. Funcoland used to let the customer test video games in the provided televisions. Yes I know they have that today with their fancy flat screens and encasements with their multiple demos. But these were just cabinets with TVs, the system and the whole game itself. It’s just nostalgic for me. Whatever. Anyways, there is a lot of stuff here. Almost everything you could imagine when it comes to video game history is here. The owner has PILES of old consoles. There is too much stuff here. So pretty much, the only major things I noticed he didn’t have were the Nintendo Toploader, an Atari 2600 and a Sega 32X. These aren’t too major, especially the 32X, but it was something that stuck out most to me. But when it comes to things I haven’t seen in a long time are Game Boy Pockets, Game Gears, Sega CD games and a second generation Super Nintendo. There is a good balance of old to new. Most of the new stuff is behind the counter and the old stuff is inside the many glass displays. I was very pleased by coming here because I’ve never seen a store like it. The only down side to this place is that the prices are guaranteed to be higher. I shop at GameStop too often to not notice that some games are cheaper there than here. If you own an iPhone or a Blackberry, you’re lucky because you can compare prices online or on the GameStop website on the spot. You don’t need to contemplate for so long. I didn’t buy anything but it was awesome being there. My friend bought Mega Man X, Batman Returns and Kirby’s Dream Land 3. I can tell you that he could’ve found it cheaper online. Except for the Batman Returns. It was in the original box with the manual. So this place just depends on how dedicated you are to gaming. But yeah, check the place out. I can guarantee that you will be surprised more than once when coming here. Kind of like a museum. An expensive one.
