This place is really good. My husband and I ate here last night. He had the chicken teriyaki dinner and I had the sushi combination dinner. We also had some shrimp and veggie tempura as an appetizer. Very fresh and delicious.

Came here on a busy night, I understand that it can be hectic and it’s hard to keep up with your tables but we waited almost an hour to be seated then waited another hour for our food to be ready and we didn’t order that much, just two rolls and a chicken teriyaki plate. Our waiter barely came to our table, only to take our order, give us our food and drinks and then we had to walk to the register to pay because they took to long to come back to us. Food was decent, portions were way too small for the price! Tiny little rolls. Not worth it or memorable. I think it was one of the only sushi places open in the area so we decided to go but definitely pass on a busy day because service might be slow and not as attentive.

I am very upset. I wrote a 5 star review two years ago as this *was* my favorite sushi place. Let me say that I come here all the time. I am allergic to shellfish. I tell them everytime. It has never been an issue. Today they were busy. We waited around 20 minutes for a table and then 15 more to order. No problem. Order the food. She came back to tell me due to my allergy they can’t serve me. Now again, I come here all the time and have never had an issue. I told the lady that, and she went back to the sushi bar and once again told me because they were so busy they couldn’t serve me. I don’t think that is very fair. Mainly because I am there all the time. I even know half the waitresses.(I did not know the new one today) I feel really disrespected and discriminated against. If it was my first time there I would not be upset. However, because there were too many customers there they couldn’t take the time to serve me. That is discrimination and bad business practice. I will never go back, I will not bring my family there when they visit. I spend on average 100 dollars when I take my friends and family there. Congratulations on losing business. It may not effect you today but trust me when I will tell everyone I know about your discriminating business practices.

We had a very nice waiter who was helpful in suggesting some options for my dad, who was on a semi-restricted diet after heart surgery. Really nice to the folks and attentive service. clean and quiet. Sushi and fish were fresh, good portions, will be back.

I didn’t like this place very much. I don’t know what my ex-friend thought this place was good. I mean, the people were nice, but the food was not worth for the price. Sorry to say, the food was not that great either. I felt like I ate some fake sushi and it felt like they overpriced something that was such horrible quality. I’m glad I left all the bad memories here including his stupid ass! Yea if you read this review, you know who you are!

I’m giving this place a 4 because it’s BRENTWOOD, CA. I’m not even going to compare it to sushi that you can find in, say, San Francisco or any of the other big cities. Now… for an area like this(& so close to my house) I appreciate a sushi place that offers a variety of vegetarian sushi rolls. I’ve tried them all so far and they’re decent. Their noodles are okay too. My only complaint would be the slow service on busy nights. However, I noticed that they only have two guys preparing sushi orders for the entire restaurant. I actually feel terrible for them. They work hard though and that’s appreciated.

The short of it: waited an hour for«eh» service and OK sushi. The long of it: came in for take out and was told the wait was 30 minutes which didn’t bother me for a Saturday night. I came back inside after 30 minutes and the hostess told me they hadn’t started my order. I waited another 30 minutes and finally got an uninspiring order of sushi. To be honest I could’ve spent half the money and got my sushi instantly at Safeway, same quality too. Won’t be back.

This is our go to place for Sushi when we don’t feel like driving into Concord or walnut creek. We always get seated immediately. The sushi rolls are good and a little bit cheaper than other local sushi places. The kiddos like eating here. They have underwater décor the kids love. My daughter loves their teriyaki chicken too.

First time I went to eat here, they were closed on a Sunday. Ok, that’s no big deal, business’s have a right to their own hours. I will come and try them another time. Well, today I popped in to get a couple rolls to go. There was some hold up, in the front, I guess they only have one computer to take phone orders and ring up. Finally after 13 minutes, a girl finally started to help me. After she said it would take 30 – 35 minutes for 2 rolls, I cancelled the order and left. 2 rolls should not take that long. And taking an order should not take long, especially when you are trying to give them your business. And the search continues for my go to sushi spot in this area…

My husband and I both enjoy going to Bluefin. Whenever one of us says we want sushi, there’s never a question of where we’ll go to get it. I recommend Bluefin to my friends. We particularly enjoy the Lion King roll as well as the Titanic. The staff is friendly; we’ve always been greeted warmly upon arrival.

Four stars for the fresh fish. I judge a place on how well their salmon sashimi is. It was fresh and I was in love. Their rolls are a few bucks cheaper then other sushi places in the area which I was happy about. The portions were average but the service was soooo slow

A little accident happened when I had lunch here. When I asked for 2 to-go boxes, the waitress said she can bring the sukiyaki to the back and put it in a container for me. Right when she grabbed the sukiyaki pot, the bowl tilted and the soup spilled all over my pants making it soaking wet. She did said«I’m sorry» in a really quiet and low voice. I mean at this point there’s not much she can do so she went and grabbed some napkins for me. She did ask me if would like a dessert on the house though, so thank you for the offer. I just wish she was more careful and held the pot with two hands instead of grabbing it by the handle with just one so it would not have spilled all over me :( For the food, The beef sukiyaki itself was okay. The broth was yummy with the perfect sweetness to it. The beef on the other hand was not so great. It was tough and chewy. Not the most authentic sukiyaki and wish they had used better quality beef. The lion king was awful. The rice of the sushi was hard and there wasn’t enough sauce and looked dry. There was barely much salmon on top. Presentation could have been better too. I would not order this again from here. Also got the tempura appetizer, it came with 2 prawns which is a plus because some places only gives you 1 prawn since its an appetizer.

Not too shabby. There isn’t anything bad I can say about this place. I was in the area and decided to give it a try. Real great service and the food came out at a reasonable time. Prices were fair for the size and amount of sushi your given. I read about lack of freshness in other posts, but that was far from my experience. I could see why this place is a go-to spot for some customers that i noticed were eating at the bar. I’ve had non-fresh sushi before, and bluefin isn’t one of them. Try it out for yourself, we all have different tastes! :) As for me, my taste buds love the sushi here, and I’ll definitely be back once I’m around the area again. Thanks for a great experience bluefin! :)

I went to Blue Fin because it’s one of the few Japanese restaurants open around 3. The restaurant was very quiet and there weren’t that many people there. The server was extremely nice and friendly, but the food was just alright. I ordered a kids meal and it was quite filling, but it did take quite a while to get to our table. The Lion King roll was pretty good but the rice was so soft that it came apart before I could eat it. Other than that I rate this restaurant 3 stars because I’ve had better from many other Japanese restaurants.

We moved out of state in 2013. We finally made it back to Blue Fin. Waitress Kelley immediately recognized us. People rip this restaurant for freshness and quality. Blue Fin is a good sushi restaurant for Brentwood. Want the best of the best? Go to Japan. I did and it was good. We love the Lion King, Dancing Ebi and the regular sushi combination. Great taste, lots of sashimi and little rice. Delicious Hospitality is second to none in the City. We’ll be back in the future.

I came in here on New Year’s day because Chipotle was closed, and I was craving sushi anyway. The girl at the front counter was very nice, she took my order & waited patiently for me to look at the menu. The good took quite a while to come out for a «to go» order. I’m gonna guess it was about 20min for a bento box &2 rolls. While I’m a pretty patient person, that was a bit long for how slow it was in there. and the rolls were good, but not great. I’ve had better, and I would definitely come in here again if I were in the area. But I wouldn’t bring a frequent sushi eater/connoisseur in here. The fish tank in the waiting area is pretty cool, and the place is in a convenient location with plenty of parking.

Came here with my boyfriend and parents. My dad loves the place and my boyfriend loves sushi. Me and my mom don’t like it all. First of all we were seated promptly. Excellent service. The water tastes like it’s from the toilet. The soup looked strugglish. Mom wasn’t feeling adventurous enough to try sushi so she had teriyaki. Looked and smelled amazing. She liked it. Between my boyfriend, dad, and I, we had three different sushi. 007, Victoria secret, and something else. All three were yummy! I hated sushi before but now I love it. Nuff said. Behold the pictures that is art.

Their sushi is pretty good. They’ll have some less than common fishes(monk fish, surf clam, and sea urchin, toro), but, on occasion, they can taste like their fish was just defrosted from the freezer, like the toro and the monk fish. There were some ice flakes in the toro and the monk fish was still a bit frozen hard(monk fish should be more like a paste) not to mention the bland fish taste is a dead giveaway. Oysters are always good value if and when they have it. Wait staff are pretty attentive. But with all sushi restaurant, don’t expect the foo to be cheap, but they are reasonable.
