I didn’t get to snap any photos of this cute little spot! We popped in super late, probably 5 minutes to closing and the service was impeccable! We had soup of the day, cheese tray and sliders. The ambience, staff and wine were spot on! If I am ever in Brenham I will make a point to stop and have a glass.

The food was flavorful and tasty. The portions were small for the price. The waitress we had did a poor job of checking on us and bringing us refills. Also, the tables seemed way too close together, at least to me. I probably would not recommend this to people.

This place used to be a restaurant that we came to for Mother’s Day a few years ago & we wanted to visit again! Fortunately, I LOVE what it has turned in to! Great drinks, great people & a beautiful atmosphere! Also, love that they are very personable! Absolutely recommend this place!

Surprising restaurant in downtown Brenham. The restaurant is nicely designed and is a great date/hang out place. I would expect this type of restaurant in Houston or Austin. There is inside and outside seating. The restaurant serves a large selection of wine and beer. The waitstaff was friendly, timely and was knowledgable about the menu and drinks. I ordered the flat iron steak with truffled mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to order and delicious. I’m not a big fan of mashed potatoes, but I thoroughly enjoyed these. I will definitely revisit next time I’m in town to try the other dishes on the menu. My coworkers ordered the Tomatillo Pork Shank and they definitely enjoyed the dish. it was so good, that he raved about the dish all the way back to the hotel.

The food is not something you will find everywhere. The food my wife and I tried was fresh and tasty. We were not expecting a restaurant with the variety and uniqueness to exist in this more rural area. My wife had Chorizo and Sweet Potato with Kale hash. She liked it so much she made it for us the next evening for dinner. I had a flat iron steak(cut up) with a variety of potatoes and eggs with a hollandaise sauce. This wasn’t spectacular but it was good.

This is my favorite restaurant in Brenham. The service is superb and the food is phenomenal! The patio is so fun and the staff is very professional. My favorite dishes are the meat and cheese plate and the wedge salad. They have an amazing gluten free chocolate cake! You absolutely need to come to this restaurant!

Great food. Great service. Fun patio to hang out on in nice weather. My favorite is their shrimp and grits on their Sunday brunch menu. Their mimosas are also really fun and come in different flavors.

Recommended by a friend, we drove 25 miles and had an excellent meal I would call in the bistro style. Wide menu choices included the elk sliders I enjoyed paired with a wine from an eclectic small vineyard list. Another time we will have to try the small craft brewers bounty at the bar which looked great. Definitely a place we will return to often.

Our waiter was awesome, the atmosphere is great, and the food was delicious! I could go back and just order five of those cheese plates, yum! The potatoes bravas was not what we expected, and the chickpeas were just ok, but the mushroom flatbread made up for it!

We found this place randomly following the good reviews on Unilocal. It totally deserves them! The food is definitely good, original and well presented. It is not the typical American restaurant but something more sophisticated. We have been served by a young lady who was really kind and smiling. She told us she is a student(I am very sorry I forgot the name, cause she definitely deserves to be mentioned!). So, yes, strongly suggested!

Ordered the Chicken with Sweet Potatoes. Chicken was dry. Did not eat all of it. The yucca fries were absolutely gross. I asked for butter with bread and they said the butter is only used for the steaks and I couldn’t have any. Wtf? Needless to say we will NEVER be back. I don’t mind paying for expensive food but at least make sure it taste good. I will say that the gumbo that my husband had was actually good. That was it.

Refreshing change of pace… innovative food pairings that are perfectly prepared… not to mention a lovely wine list and Texas craft beer selection. The wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable. The owners were warm and made us feel like we were at home. We will return! Cheers…

Brenham is really stepping up their restaurant game. I’m from Austin and even I was impressed with this classy tapas bar. The food is excellent and not nearly as small in the small bite aspect as other tapa bars I have been to, meaning you will actually leave with a full stomach. I appreciated the thought that they obviously put into their wine selection as well. The pinot noir was excellent as well as the merlot I tried. Customer service is excellent, fast and still has that home-style feel you’d expect from a small town like Brenham. You’ll feel like youre dining at a 5 star city restaurant but with a more relaxed and less noisy atmosphere and have a server that cares about what they are serving you.

Long story short food was good, service sucked, and they didn’t keep their promises Let me get this out of the way. The food was good. The short rib was delicious the yucca fries were okay. My fiancé loved the cheese plate but I don’t find cutting cheese a huge culinary accomplishment. The food gets this place one star. Now let’s talk about the service, or lack thereof. We called ahead to make a reservation. The hostess told us they don’t do reservations and when asked about a wait the hostess assured us that they haven’t had a wait in three weeks. We get there and ask for a table and are informed of a «20» minute wait because the kitchen is backed up(so we can’t be seated and have some drinks?). We were directed to a nice bar area where short-bearded-stocky-gentile David Krumholtz looking waiter took a drink order and provided what proved to be the best service of the night. Second and last star earned here. The wait was over twenty minutes but I’m not sure how long. We were told that our table was ready and that we needed to close out at the bar and I asked if our bottle of wine($ 24 paid for before we were sat, this will be important later) would be brought out to us and it was. When the wine was brought out we ordered aforementioned cheese plate and it was brought out by a food runner. This is where our experience went down hill. So we had our cheese our bottle of wine and an empty waterglass. I didn’t care for the wine and found a beer that looked good that I wanted to order. We sat outside where there were three other occupied tables all being served by the same waitress. She came checked on them and paid no attention to us, the only other table out there. This happened several times. Now I’m not sure if she’s the same girl who took our cheese order but she was just about the only waitress outside. We waited and waited and even attempted to get her attention a few times. The manager/owner/hostess finally came out and we were able to get her attention. I mentioned to her that we hadn’t been attended to since we got out there and that we needed our waitress. This woman took my beer order apologized and went inside. A while later one of the waitresses came and I informed her that I wanted the check because we hadn’t been served since we sat down. No water refills no food orders and I still had not gotten my beer. She apologized and went inside. The manager came out with my beer and apologized and asked what she could do to keep us there and offered to comp the bottle of wine, which I informed her that I had already paid for the wine($ 24 remember) and she said she would take it off of our food ticket. We decided to stay and ordered a few items. The food came out quick, the restaurant has pretty much cleared out by now. I ordered another beer and was told by the waitress it was on the house because she was sorry and all. Well the food was good, I was happier because I was getting a beer and $ 24-$ 30 off my ticket. We get done and ordered a desert to go which was brought to us on a plate and had to be taken back and boxed. I was brought the check and it didn’t indicate the $ 24-$ 30 was taken off. I figured maybe the manager had not told the waitress of her former assurance that the wine $ 24 would be taken off. I confronted the manager and she told me that she took off the two beers and said«that’s like $ 12». Well $ 12 isn’t like $ 24 — $ 30 which would have been the total of the wine and the beer that I was told was«on the house». Very long story short the service sucked. Other tables outside were complaining amongst themselves about how slow the service was. And apparently the manager can’t do simple math. I have never left a restaurant because of service but I wish I had left tonight. We had talked about coming back before we were mislead but we will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to anyone.

I was in town for my semi-annual visit with family. When looking for a place for bite to eat I ran across this placed the main square which had recently opened for business. I was impressed with the menu and settled on a flatbread entrée and one of the many craft beers they had to offer. It was perfect! The staff was attentive and made a point of referring to me by name which made me feel welcome. While looking over the dessert menu(from which I opted for the pumpkin spiced crème broulee –yum!), they pointed out the upcoming Sunday brunch menu. All of the choices looked like they were to die for. Over the next three days in town, I returned. Once for some down time while enjoying a pale ale and then for Sunday morning brunch with the family. The hostess(who I guess owned the restaurant) greeted me by name –Nice touch. The sweet potato hash with eggs and a tasty caramelized onion topping was all I hoped it would be. Well done.

Wonderful atmosphere with delicious food and wine list! The menu changes with the seasons, has inside and outside seating, classy and romantic. I love the mushroom and Gouda flatbread but can’t guarantee it will be there next time! No reservations. Local artwork you can purchase on the walls. Great beer selection as well.

96WEST is the newest business in Brenham and the most cutting edge new restaurant in the Brazos Valley. This is the new hot spot to get away from College Station for the weekend, and this is the most excellent food option. Right on town square with out door seating that reminds me of something in San Francisco. Think Veritas, Maddens. Republic Steak, Mad Taco. Grub burger to the extreme. Service was fantastic on one of the 1st real public openings. Top notch. Will update with more detailed info of food later and for now enjoy photos(will grow historic as well as real 1st week menu). It was as good tasting as it looked. Totally excellent. 96WEST Rocks and is a local food travel suggestion.
