Two words: deviled eggs! Yum yum! Great food and even better service. Staff was very attentive and constantly came over to check if we were good. A must if youre in search of a classy bbq restaurant. Lucilles who?

Ok so this is based on one visit but I will be back. First off I ordered to go because my mom wanted Bbq while she was visiting and it’s hard for her to get around so I said«F it» I’ll bring her some to the house while she’s visiting. The parking is really tough on a Friday even 4ish in the afternoon. If you don’t end up in the lot which fills up quick you are down the street and across Brea Blvd in the parking garage. Great menu we tried lots of different things. The shrimp and grits was perfect, I will have that again fosho. The tri tip was pretty good as well. Sides were good and so was dessert I like all the options with sauce so you will get it exactly how you like it once you figure out what’s best. Some cool stuff on the menu that I will hit up next time no doubt about that. Favors were nice and food was cooked perfectly even for take out. Staff was courteous and had everything I needed, including napkins utensils sauces which most places forget. Price was above average but it seemed to be better quality food than other places. No burnt rubbery chewy parts like you sometimes get other places. Look forward to trying kook aid pickles and fried pickles!

Lillie’s Q is a refreshing and it’s-about-time addition to Brea. We’ve been there twice in the past 4 weeks and going for there again today for Sunday brunch. Definitely try the smoked deviled eggs, smoked wings and our most fav smoked fried chicken! Yummmm One thing unique about Lillie’s Q is that you can choose your own BBQ dipping sauce at your table — 8 different ones! Besides great barbecue, the prices are right, the service is great and friendly, and the bar selection, especially the beers and specialty drinks are awesome! Their happy hour is all of the above at even better prices! Check them out it’s worth your while.

I dined at Lillie Q’s, on a Friday night. Parking in the back, is good for 4 hours, and wasn’t hard to find or wait for. They also have structures across the Improv and in the downtown part, behind the movie theaters. The place is open and has an industrial feel. Country music is played throughout. The table comes with unique sauces, to add to your entrée selection yourself. This is wise, since some like their meats dripping with bbq and others on the light/dry side. The flavors range from real hot and spicy, to mild, but still vinegary. My boyfriend had the hot link sandwich, which he enjoyed and I purchased the pulled pork. The sides offered are really good. His green beans, with bacon, was delicious, and my sweet potato fries rocked. My meat was more on the fatty side. I’ve noticed with BBQ places, most reviews are hit or miss on what you actually get. I know I could dine there again, and have a better cut next time. I will return, as the prices were decent, the vibe comfortable, and the selection plentiful.

They have some amazing bbq! Great food, plenty of choices, great prices and great portions. I used to love lucielles but this is my new Orange County favorite bbq place. Their alcoholic shines are also soooooo good!

First off, I like that they play country music from Hank Williams to today. Food for lunch was great, cheep and filling spent $ 42 for three people. I think you should try this place, it’s something different and stay away from major company bbq restaurants because they won’t be as fun as going here.

So we thought we would try a new place. It was just ok. We sat in the bar area. Everything started out well. Though it feels more like 2.5to 3 $$. When a pulled pork sandwich is $ 12 with 1side? ½ a chicken costs $ 19! There was no chicken sandwich unless you wanted chicken salad. So we decided to split the 3 choice meat which cost $ 29. However ribs were +2, and brisket was+5. However we figured it was still cheaper to split it by 2, again since chicken cost you $ 19! Loved the option that there are so many different sauces. We ordered and then waited. And waited, waited & waited! Finally an hour later were were like where is our food. Server said it would be out shortly & we waited & waited! Then I noticed the couple who sat down after us, already ate & we’re paying! And the table behind us, who also sat down after us, was getting the there food! Waiter finally said a manager would be out to talk to us& guess what, no one did! Finally, it was 8:17, so almost an hour ½ our food finally came! But no manager! I asked to speak to a manager because that was ridiculous! She said the ticket was lost. So why wouldn’t you come out to tell us that & at least offer an appetizer or something while we waited! Mind you, it wasn’t overly crowded at all so that excuse wouldn’t work! Disappointed! She did give us a discount on our meal. Food itself was good. We got chicken, ribs(my fav)& brisket with green beans(fresh & crisp) and sweet potatoe fries(way over seasoned! So salty). The sauces were not our favorite. If I had to pick, I mixed mine with the Carolina & hot spicy together. So with all that said, it was ok. Won’t be rushing back.

Coming back to explore more of the menu! We only ordered apps to-go because it was an early night, but the deviled eggs and hush puppies(a southern fav of mine;I’m from the South soooo) weren’t bad! Definitely trying the smoked wings and fried pickles next time and we’ll have to eat-in because I hate getting batter fried stuff to-go(never stays crispy). If you like coleslaw theirs is delish! Not super wet like that potluck mess you might be used to, but no dry either like the crap they try to pass at those other BBQ places. Lucilles coleslaw is spot on and the flavors aren’t too vinegary and theirs a slight hint of sweet in there. I’m guessing they make their own dressing for the slaw which really makes the dish even more appetizing. On the menu the Smoked fried chicken with honey sounded amazeballs, as did the classic southern dish Shrimp and grits. I’m not much of a pulled pork fan, but the ribs looked delicious and the sides are sure to please as well:) I mean you can’t go wrong with collard greens and Mac N’ Cheese The hostess Isobel was such a delight helping us with our order and explained to us the theme behind the restaurant owned by a true southern gent from my home state of SC! Would love to meet the owner next time Little charms you may enjoy: *Industrial setting and they pull it off with servers dressed in mechanic work shirts and jeans, and the industrial lighting above the bar alongside a chalkboard wall. *Drinks are served in mason jars(yes even the beers) *They have Ivory(White) BBQ sauce!!!(Fellow Southerners might appreciate this hard to find in the West sauce) They have banana pudding and cobbler for dessert! *THEYHAVEHUSHPUPPIES!!!(If your a Cali transplant from the South, you’ll understand how hard it is to find theses days will appreciate their pimento cheese take on a classic) *They use fire burning wood smokers for their meat! Not like another popular bbq spot that uses electric(blasphemy) *They serve most their menu items in cast iron dishes which really ties together the whole industrial and Southern style element.

Went here for the first time last night. We’ve found our new go-to BBQ place! Took my wife, son and daughter. Had the hush puppy and fried pickles as appetizers. Fantastic! All of us had great meals. Gotta’ say, the baby back ribs we’re probably the best I’ve had in a while. They have about 6 sauces at the table to try, which is fun.

Boyfriend and I decided to come here for lunch because last time we came here, it was really busy and the food looked delicious. We had ordered the BBQ ribs and a pound of tri-tip( Unilocal said it was good) So I thought, let’s try it, people who Unilocal are usually accurate on the foods. Food came out, looked very appealing except for two reasons: 1. The food came out barely warm almost to cold(felt like it was sitting out), but the ribs itself was soft. 2. The tri-tip was very dry. I was sitting at the restaurant trying to figure out why and how that was possible that our ribs were soft but almost to cold. It just does not make sense to me. So we decided to bring the food home and eat it later. Hours passed, ate the food again and put the tri-tip in one of those instant noodles and it tasted way better than it was presented to us at the restaurant. If you look at my receipt, I was overcharged. Not trying to make a big deal but being overcharged sucks. Each plate said it’s $ 28/$ 28 yet I was being charged $ 4.32 extra and I tipped the person who helped us well. Overall, I would not come back here especially after the experience I had and coming home to find out others had the same exact experience as I did whether it was last year or beginning of this year.

I was looking for a BBQ a while back and had bookmarked this place. Sunday morning I decided that I wanted some, so I dropped in. I was surprised to find out that they had a Sunday Brunch BBQ. This was a great way to try out multiple items off their menu, especially when you don’t have a gang of friends where everyone can share. I was able to get some beans, corn, brisket, hot links as well as cole slaw, potato salad and some breakfast potatoes. There was smoked turkey as well at the meat station, but I didn’t get any. They also had two types of salad with a variety of dressings as well as biscuits and gravy and pancakes. For dessert, they had a peach cobbler, which was definitely more like a muffin, some stout brownies and their famous banana pudding. There was a build your own Strawberry shortcake station. Plus a CHOCOLATEFOUNTAIN with some fruit, marshmallows and beignets to cover with that chocolate. The brisket and hot links were great. There is a whole TRAY of sauces to try and I had to try them all. I loved the spicy bbq the best. I loved the beans and breakfast potatoes. The corn I think had been in the chaffing dish a bit too long, and it was really dry, so I was bummed. The chef de cuisine was making his rounds and talking about the food. It was great that he was so attentive and asking how people thought of the food and answered any questions. Overall — this was a great way to try a little bit of their favorites all for $ 24.99 which also includes bottomless mimosas. Since I don’t drink, I just asked for OJ and they were so accommodating. I’ll definitely have to go back to actually try some other items on their menu. Park across the street in the structure(Free). But I believe there is also parking in the back.

Came to Lillie’s Q because we love barbecue and I had read a magazine article featuring the restaurant and saw that they had fried pickles which are one of my favorite barbecue appetizers! The fried pickles lived up to and surpassed our expectations! The beer batter breading was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and was a perfect complement to the vinegary pickle and the ranch sauce then it came with for dipping. I would go back to Lillie’s Q just for these alone! My boyfriend got the smoked chicken sandwich with bacon grits and I got the prime aged brisket sandwich with mac & cheese. Despite adding barbecue sauce to our sandwiches, we both found the meat to be too dry. I usually love grits however these were too buttery. The mac & cheese was good but I would have liked it more if they had a cheese crust on top like they do at Lawry’s Carvery. The banana putting tasted just like homemade with big chunks of banana in it and vanilla wafers throughout. My boyfriend got a sorry not sorry IPA and thought it complimented the barbecue well. Edison bulbs hanging from meat hooks, subway tiles, and wooden tables and booths give a very clean, country feel to this barbecue joint. The music fit that décor and the food as well. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Overall a very well thought out restaurant with attention to detail We would not get the barbecue again because it was too dry for us however we will definitely return for the deep-fried pickles! Next time we want to try the fried chicken, the hot wings, and maybe another dessert

Atmosphere: clean, hipster, comfortable 4 – 5 stars Service: waiter was easy going and helpful, gave great tips/recommendations which we took 4.5 stars Food: 3.5 stars :/ Ordered 2 Lilly Qs: The Mac and cheese with bacon was delicious(my favorite item)!! Green beans were decent with bacon, but alone it was watered down Trip tip was decent, brisket I was a bit disappointed with since everyone raved about the brisket, and ribs were just ok. I gave this place 4 stars because of the clean atmosphere and nice service. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Brunch on a Sunday just seems right and if you feel like authentic BBQ, Lillies Q is the place to be. For 25.99AYCE for brunch, it is a great deal. The brunch menu consists of all their sides and more; southern grits, collard greens, Mac n Cheese, fried and grilled tilapia, baked beans, green beans with Apple cider vinaigrette, Brunswick stew, biscuit and gravy, pancakes, bacon, smoked brisket, sausages, turkey, salads, pickles, and to top it off… dessert including a chocolate fountain. By the way, in additional to all this offering, there is a made to order menu and from that menu, we ordered the chicken and waffles, and the country eggs benedict. The brisket was tender and juicy. The bark was smoked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning. The turkey was juicy and had a good amount of smokiness. All the sides were just delicious. The chicken and waffles for their brunch selection is a smaller portion but perfect to share because of all the other foods provided. The waffle was crispy on the outside, and soft and sweet on the inside. The chicken was crispy and juicy which made it a perfect combo. If my tummy had more room, I would have gotten a second round. I definitely went back for seconds for their chocolate brownies made with beer, and chocolate fountain. The BBQ was authentic enough for me to feel as I was transported to Texas. It is definitely great BBQ from a restaurant. I will definitely go back.

I’ve been hanging out in the downtown Brea a lot, but I haven’t checked out this BBQ joint. The interior of this place is one of those trendy DTLA urban modern style, so it’s pretty open and relaxed ambiance. I have traveled quite far to find the best BBQ, my most recent trip was to Phil’s in SD.(I think it’s over rated, tho. I only crave their huge super crunchy onion rings, lol) I ordered three choices for two, a side of green beans, fried pickles(this must be the best fried pickles I have tried by far), two cocktails — cocktail prices were pretty reasonable and ok with the amount of alcohol — and the new appetizer item, hushpuppies. I chose baby back ribs, briskets and tri-tips. My server made a mistake so I I got the chicken instead of brisket so I requested my briskets back. They still let me keep the chicken, so I took a bite, and just left it there, because it was flavorless and super dry. Brisket was pretty tender and juicey, yet lean, but a bit salty. Tri-tip had a better flavor and less salt. Ribs were pretty disappointing, definitely not the kind I like, too dry. Pretty much all three meat choices had the same smoky flavor. Green bean side was fresh, crunchy and bacon flavor was very good. Hush puppies were pretty crispy and fluffy, soft inside, but I didn’t like the dipping cheese sauce(too heavy), I think Hush puppies would go better with more tangy vinegary sauce. I tried all of their sauces, the best one for me was the most vinegary one with the hint of spicy kick. It was still not sour enough to my taste buds tho. By the way, I think they should have all closed caps for the sauce bottles to keep the contents cleaner and less evaporation of any sour ingredients. Also, I didn’t like the cloth napkin which left my pants so messy… Servers are friendly and attentive. If I am around this place again, I would just come for a few cocktails with some fried pickles to kill some time before the comedy show or a movie.

A fairly decent BBQ restaurant located in the heart of downtown Brea, is it worth your time to chow down? Find out in my review below. I came here with couple of my Unilocal friends came here on a Saturday evening. We did not get a chance to make reservations so don’t make the same mistake as us! The wait wasn’t too terrible thankfully, about 20 minutes or so. There is a bar area where it is on a first come, first serve basis so if you are lucky to find a open spot than take it before it’s gone! Once we sat down, our waiter was very informative on what the menu and special were. To start we ordered two moonshine cocktails, could not taste the alcohol so if I come back here I will probably pass on the drinks and just get water. Ultimately we decided on getting the Tri Tip, Brisket and the Ribs. We also go a side or of BBQ beans, potato salad, mac n cheese, pork rinds and a vegetable dish that I can’t remember because who goes to a BBQ restaurant to eat vegetables?! Anyway, they also have a variety of sauces to choose from depending on your liking. From Smoky, Carolina Gold, Hot Smoky, Carolina, Ivory, Hot Pepper Vinegar Sauce and E.N.C. each one has a certain distinct taste to it so I recommended you try each one out and see which one you like for yourself! My favorite out of all of them is the Smoky flavor since it adds that extra BBQ flavor to the meat to make it that much more savory. Since one of my friends is a avid BBQ aficionado, I was eager to try out the BBQ compared to his. The tri tip was pretty dry, the brisket was decent and the ribs were unevenly cooked. One side was very moist and melt off the bone which is what should be and the other half was very dry. The sides however were pretty good. The potato salad was one of the best I’ve ever had, the pork rinds were seasoned well and the BBQ beans was the perfect compliment for the BBQ. I didn’t get to try out the mac n cheese and the vegetable dish but my friends did not complain about them. Overall, I think I would prefer going to Lucilles since they constantly have quality BBQ of the times that I have been there combine that with their generous portions and awesome sauce selection, it is the clear winner.
