Great food, great service. Burgers are very good and Breakfast is second to none. The full meals are also a great value. Also, Their shakes might even be better than most ice cream shops, I. e Baskin Tobbins, etc. Becky, Crystal, LaLa and of course, Rafael, are the best!

John’s place is a excellent restaurant located near my house, in the northwestern portion of Brea. I have been going to John’s place for all of my life because the food is excellent. I have tried their pancakes, cheeseburger, and the gyro sandwich over the years. I can attest that the food is always of excellent quality. much better honestly than you would expect from a diner-style restaurant-café, such as John’s. I really like that they have a salad bar. Over the past 10 years salad bars have become hard-to-find, and John’s has a great one. Overall, excellent, above-average-from-a-restraunt-like-this, tasty, food. It gets busy here in the mornings, especially on the weekend of course, so I would take that into consideration before arriving. The atmosphere is relaxing and clean, restrooms are clean. Service is nice. Lots of locals eat here. Would recommend.

My boyfriend and I got two breakfast burritos to go and after waiting twenty min they were decent. My boyfriends burrito ended up dripping salsa juice all over his pants. Overall just okay.

Good solid place. Great food and great service! I’ve been coming here for years, way more than the 2 times I’ve actually remembered to check in. I’ve had burgers, sandwiches, salads, breakfast burritos and have never been disappointed. Consistently a great place! The kitchen is open so you can see everything being cooked as you order. All of the cashiers are super fast friendly and accurate! They’re always pretty busy but the food still comes out quickly and hot!

Fantastic breakfast spot in North OC. Their fresh, homemade hash browns and salsa make for the perfect breakfast burrito. Great coffee and fresh brewed iced tea. Nice patio dining available. Customer service is spot on. We are always greeted and treated well by the servers and chefs. Our family loves this place.

Love this place. The cashier and waiter were super nice and social as we waited for our meal to be served on Halloween Night. We were the last ones to order for the night and they were very friendly. Hugga and Big Ups to Ashley and Maria for their superb service

My husband and I love this place! For a diner, they have great food and decent prices. Love supporting local family owned businesses too. I always get their breakfasts and they are spot on. Love they don’t put a lot of salt on it so you can do it yourself. Service is great too.

This place is kinda pricey, but it has a cute old-timey feel. Their zucchini fries are yummy, especially with their buttermilk dressing. Their club sandwich is good, but would be great if their bacon didn’t taste old.

Better than average Charbroil burger place. Clean inside with friendly staff. Cheeseburgers are good(typical) with thousand island d dressing, pickles and the works except mustard. Most places don’t use mustard on burgers. I don’t get it. Even McDonald’s puts it in their regular burgers! Lol. Everything else looks good too. They also have a salad bar that looks fresh.

The food is good. I like the bacon breakfast burrito. The double cheeseburgers is great. Get the french fries well done! The onion rings are very crispy; I would make love to them if I could. The only problem I have is with the owner — he is way overpriced, and he knows it.

Definitely a locals hang out. Early hours on weekdays you’ll find contractors getting their grub on. On weekends, you’ll find the garage sale set getting ready for a day of bargain hunting with a fill of bacon, eggs and pancakes. You’ll also catch the pre or post church goer and the smattering of families getting ready for a weekend’s worth of errands and sports. The service is a mix of fast food ambivalence with dine in politeness. It’s hard to get a table between 0900 – 1100 but at least the order line is quick. It’s fairly clean and you can watch the cooks prepare your food if you want to hang around the counter.

Had breakfast and lunch here today. Good food and lots of it. Prices are a bit higher than your usual fast food place but the food quality is better. Service is courteous and fast. They have a small salad bar, but I’ve never tried it. You order your food at the front counter and pay for it there. Your order is brought to your table. The also have free wifi, but it wasn’t working when I was there.

I just ordered a BLT, fries and zucchini. All of the food was very tasty; therefore, I am very pleased. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place_!

We have been John’s customers for years. This is the first time I have been unhappy with service and food. I asked for French Toast I was told out of bread ok then I asked for 2 pancakes and the young person charges $ 6.19. I told her for 2 pancakes told me its for 3. I can get 2 pancakes at Denny’s for $ 2.00. No smile just a blank look. So I ordered a patty melt. This young person needs more training. The front door was filthy and so was the ladies restroom. My husband told me no paper towels in the men’s restroom. I hope this is not the future of John’s.

I usually come to this place satisfied but today was a whole different story the costumer service was beyond horrible. The lady at the cashier had so much attitude, asking a simple question was like pulling teeth. I ordered the salad bar and she looked appalled. While I was at said salad bar I heard her talking to her coworkers in Spanish saying something about the Asian at the salad bar! I WASTHEONLYASIANGIRLINHERE. So how fucking rude, I didn’t tell you to work here. So if you don’t want to work here Maria stop working in customer service.

Well, This is my first visit to John’s and I must say that I did enjoy the food quite well. The Burrito was definitely well made, stuffed with fresh ingredients, no question at all that I had ordered a Sausage Egg Burrito, light on the cheese. The side of a small onion rings was excellent, but definitely too much. But only in the sense that I ate WAY too much! A small onion rings would be an excellent dish to share with another person or three, the Burrito would be more than sufficient for 2 meals! The service was a little slow, but the food came to the table hot, so I would definitely give it a worth the wait! Will be back to try some of their other items, the steak sandwich at another table looked pretty good!

The name John, is one of the most common given names amongst English speaking countries. It comes in so many variations — Johan, Yan, Jack, and Juan, just to name a few. In American the meaning of the name is «the grace or mercy of the Lord.» Popular figures with the name in question include — John F. Kennedy, John Wooden, and John Lennon. Now, I don’t know the origins of the person that owns John’s Place, but I have to say that it’s a nice restaurant. It has a former Sizzler type of feeling, even with an actual salad bar. I agree with Pamela M about the homemade food quality and great service. It makes you want to become a regular here. But, for what I ordered today, I was simply satisfied and nothing more. I will have to frequent the place a few more times for an update. Makes sense when some Unilocalers only rate a venue after several visits. I on the other hand, like to live dangerously after one attempt. BREAKFASTBURRITO Not the best I’ve had to date, but solid. I like how they melt the cheese around the edges and the potatoes sure are soft. Still, I would favor the sausage over the bacon. There just wasn’t enough swine present for me to taste it. Almost, felt empty if you ask me. CHEESEBURGER ¼ pound of meat with all the veggie fixings. I like the steaming, hot fries that accompany the burger. There’s some love put into this thing and I like that. What’s even better is the 2 packets of ranch provided by the waitress. They’re not stingy at all and that’s a win for me. JOHN3:16

I’m giving the 5 stars as a diner which the did well. As mentioned in a previous review the hash brown were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Crisp bacon without being burnt and egg with runny yolk with the whites fully cooked. Pretty simple menu. In regard to the cleanliness and service better than average compared to the dozen or so similar place need by.

The food here is a steal. Typical mom and pop diner. You order at the counter and are given a number where someone will bring you your food. I came here on a whim for brunch. I ordered 3 over easy eggs with sausage. My meal came with 4 pieces of sausage, a side of hashbrowns, and a stack of sourdough toast. The total? $ 6.50 before tax. Man, that’s dirty cheap. I don’t know why you give this place less than 4 stars. I also sampled the chili bowl. That thing is real good. Good value. Good food.
