Romano’s Macaroni Grill

Not good. Short on staff. One waiter serving 8 tables. My wife ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was nasty. Could not eat it. The meat sauce tasted burnt. Not coming back

Some things never change with Macaroni Grill. For at least 20 years, the atmosphere, service, and food have beat most of the competition. While their menu no longer offers some of what I thought to be their best dishes, they do now have a create your own pasta menu which allows me to recreate my absolute favorite entrée. Service is always with a smile. They still put out crayons and paper table covers which amuse my children even though they’re past typical coloring age. The bread and Italian butter are still to die for as are the salads. Macaroni Grill is still the most requested stop when my family is in Tampa. I wish they’d open one in Jax!

Went there for dinner tonight. Parking lot was not busy, no wait should have said something. We were seated immediately and our waitress Sheri was right there to take our order. Drinks arrived promptly, appetizer shortly afterward. Calamari was mostly squid bodies and 3 rings for $ 10, less than a cup full presented in a nice small dish. Within 3 minutes our entrees were placed in the table. No offer of more bread or cheese on the nicely prepared food. Dinner was pretty average, service was nonexistent! When we were on our last bites of dinner, Sheri stopped back to see if it was alright. I called for the manager KT, who understood and tried to make it better with free dessert. We weren’t looking for free, just make sure it doesn’t happen again to the next customers who walk through the door. Sad, that dinner that wasn’t really cheap, lasted less the 30 minutes.

Went here tonight for dinner first time in over a year. I couldn’t believe how bad the service and the food was. Yuck! I was there on a Friday at 6:30 and the parking lot was almost empty. I will not go back!

Went here for a Sunday afternoon lunch and really enjoyed the food and service. They have a very unique and varied menu. I had butternut squash with cheese tortellini, it was so good I finished the whole plate. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and said it was the best he has ever had, huge portion. The only reason for the four stars was the women’s restroom needed attention.

I’m actually pretty shocked this place isn’t ⁴⁄₅ or ⁵⁄₅! The food is SOOO yummy, friendly and helpful wait staff, delicious drinks, free doughy wonderful bread, and the food portions are so large, great for leftovers!
Every time I bring someone new, they end up falling in love with the food and ambiance, too. No complaints at all.

I really want to give this place 1 more star because the food is usually very satisfying and tasty, service is generally good, and the paper table cloth to draw on is a favorite feature as parents that usually have to go to dinner with our 2 kids.
Also the ambience is always clean and classy and very inviting. I love the open kitchen design that you now find at some establishments. I do feel like the chairs and tables can use some maintenance or replacing.
BUT, I would rate the menu a 3 at best, because it’s very limited and HASN’T CHANGED in years! Spice up the menu guys! As an old time regular it’s nice to have some of the favorite plates available, but it sure would be nice to try something different!!! Other places like Applebee’s and outbacks and even Olive Garden are always implementing new idea and recipes. Some fail, some excel, but at least they are «freshening up their menu». Whoever in charge of the menu must’ve been fired 3 years ago and they decided to just etch the menu in stone and never change it.
If you are a new comer, I would read the 4 star rating, you will enjoy yourself and the meals they have on menu are always delicious and pack great taste. And it truly is a good place to eat.
But as a regular I stand firm on the 3 stars, Because I would love to see some effort on adding some new hits to the menu and keep some of the signature favorites as well. I would love next time to go see some new menu options to try, with the skill put into their signature favorites I’m sure they can make a new venture a winner. Until then my desire to return «often» will diminish, and will only desire to frequent this place when I have the exact hankering for the plates I already know are there.

Bar service was slow. Had the lobster ravioli which was a very small plate for $ 18 considering it wasn’t even a whole tail. The ravioli was hard and already cool by the time it arrived. Kitchen was very slow as well. Our server was nice and responsive. She ensured our Non alcoholic drinks were refreshed at all times. I won’t be back. Seems overpriced overall for the quantity of food delivered.

Great food. Had One of their wood fire pizzas and I was very impressed. The prices are reasonable. The waitstaff almost always hooks me up with free coffee after my meal. We have had two private parties there and they are very attentive and make sure they get everything right. The waiters are friendly and the bartender has a good singing voice.

Extremely disappointed and outraged! We placed a pick up order & after already placing the order, we were told that we were ordering on the lunch menu. We spent 10 minutes on the phone just to be told the two orders we wanted were no longer offered at this time. And we were ordering off their online menu (which is very confusing).The woman who took our order or care less about us. We decided to take our business else where.

This place is moving up. It was going downhill for a bit, but the past couple visits were great.

We had Andre as our server, he was very nice.
Chicken parm was delicious
Can’t wait to go back again

This place has the honor of worst food I’ve ever had in my entire life. Tasteless garbage. Crap service.

We ate there last night (Sunday) around 5:00 p.m. It was about half full and we were seated quickly. Our server (Andre) was a delight. He gave us attentive service. The three of us had entrees, salads, and soft drinks. Total was around $ 62 with tax. Wife said she liked her salmon dish. We all enjoyed the food. Dinner includes a small loaf of spiced bread, which was really delicious.
The menu is not as extensive as other places. However everyone should be able to find something they will like. The overall atmosphere is very nice, with the stonework and the Dean Martin music they had on. We were seated in a booth which was very comfortable. For a chain-​type restaurant I thought it was pretty darn good. Would like to go back again sometime.
Only real downside is the restaurant’s location, in the Brandon Town Center shopping mega-​plex. I think it took almost 20-​minutes to get back onto S.R. 60. There may be shortcuts that the locals know about, but we don’t come to Brandon enough to know all the back roads.

Hmm, having read the recent reviews I’m concerned that I either hit an off night or lost my taster. The service was good and the food was better. The steak was grilled to perfection although the roasted potatoes were a tad under cooked. My wife’s lasagna was equally good. So I’m thinking either the cooks (yes these guys are not chefs) have been trained or they got some new cooks.

Fucking awful. Jesus fuck it was bad. I don’t normally curse when I write these things but God this place was horrible. The service was great. Our server was on point and the manager that exchanged our food was equally great. First off, I’m not that guy. I usually don’t bitch unless it’s horrible. So I’m here to tell you it was horrible. I ordered the pasta bake and my mom got spaghetti. Now before you flame me, yes I know this is a chain place, the reason we go to chains is for the same shitty consistent flavors. However tonight it was extra shitty. Jesus I think the cook dumped a gallon of salt in everything tonight. I know most Americans love salt because we are obese slobs that can’t taste real food. I’ll admit at times I am one also. However this was sooooo bad. To the point where I was searching for water, chugged and entire glass and was still perched. As I looked around I saw about four other orders get sent back all within about 20 minutes. The manager told me the chef staff was going through a transition. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure all chain franchise places have a fucking recipe book. And you make the shit to spec. So how do you fuck that up? Fuck it. Point blank never eating at macaroni grill again. Oh Brandon, FL where Cheesecake Factory is in the top ten.

The amount of servings are actually very good. The times that my wife and I have visited this place, have all been good. The quality of the food is actually pretty good.

Loved it! My family took me there on 01/​23/​2015 for my birthday. Our waitress was named Tee, and I remember that she was a lefty (my hubby is, too), and an absolute delight! She was extremely attentive! She made sure we had butter for our bread instead of the oil, even though we devoured it first! The food was excellent, and they even gave me a piece of cheesecake for my birthday for free! The cheesecake was amazing! Loved it! Had a very good experience and would definitely go back!

This place is in desperate need of a new Manager!
Our experience there last night was pretty pathetic. The two hostesses were absolutely clueless. Running around like chickens with their heads cut off, bumping into each other and were actually taking food to tables! We had a 7:00 reservation and we finally got sat at 7:30 and only when we went up to the desk to see how much longer it would be. She had no idea there were reservations, but didn’t even ask if we needed to be sat. When we got to our table, the back end of the restaurant was mostly empty. Nice.
The server was great and the food was okay too. However, the restaurant was pretty messy. There were lots of tables that had not been cleaned off and reset, (didn’t see any busboys), lots of food on the floor, table and chairs all over the place, several light bulbs burnt out, the music was not conducive to Italian dining and then there’s the bathroom — absolutely disgusting!!! Pee stains all over the stalls that have built up over the years, very sticky floors, paper towels and water all over the place. A good manager would have a staff member check the bathrooms periodically and tidy up as needed. I’ve always felt the cleanliness of bathrooms in a restaurant is a good indication of how clean the kitchen is. Here, I can only imagine.
We’ve enjoyed Macaroni Grill over the years, but it looks like it may be over soon if the manager doesn’t s step up to the plate and do something!

I randomly ended up here when I took a few people to lunch from work one day. I wasn’t even aware that they were open for lunch until we ended up here. It seems like not many people are aware of that either as it was pretty empty when we got there.
Our waitress was pretty attentive and quick to take our orders. The overall lunch menu was a good deal and featured newer menu items than I remembered from the past times I’ve been here. They even have calorie conscious selections for those of us who are watching our intake.
Overall, this was a good place to stop in and enjoy lunch on a workday. My colleagues enjoyed their meal and it was nice change from the usual selections in this area.
