Ate here this morning, and boy did it go down good! Just moved to the area from down south, and this food really hit the spot. Nothing makes you feel like you’re home like a good meal!

Kristin’s is a greasy spoon but with a little more personalty, since they have an eclectic array of pancakes. Service is decent but maybe not as friendly as you would expect at a place like this. Prices are generally reasonable and won’t break the budget. Overall, I’d stick to the pancakes. The steak bomb omelet was okay, though a bit bland. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that the savory items at Kristin’s has this trait: a certain degree of blandness. I needed to help the omelet out with some hot sauce. The kielbasa omelet was shockingly bland as well, despite the salt from the sausage. Lastly, homefries, you guessed it, ran into a dearth of flavor. The pancakes are quite large, and generally, the portions of food here are respectable. I’ve only had said pancakes here once but they definitely can fill you up. The pancakes were fluffy enough and didn’t taste like raw batter, which I could appreciate. #600

I’m not sure what the hype is all about but this was a rather unimpressive visit. I had the Eastern omelette as a scramble and the lengthy cut on both the onion and the pepper just felt awkward to chew. Melted American cheese did nothing to elevate this dish but honestly when you’re hungry you’ll eat anything and enjoy it. The breakfast potatoes were burnt but interestingly still flavorful against the bland unseasoned eggs. OJ was from a carton or frozen but not freshly squeezed. I don’t know… I guess it’s just the convenience of not having to cook breakfast at home but when I choose to eat it out and pay for it my expectations are a bit higher. Loss of a star just for the fact they have only two kinds of tea, green and black, and no lemon or any other kind of citrus. At 10 am. Odd. Just odd. :) Adjust your expectations and be thankful you did not have to make your own meal or clean up and you’ll be pleased.

We got take out for breakfast here last Saturday on a whim. Simply awesome. The Corned Beef hash is homemade with tons of beef, by far the best I have ever had. I will have to get back here when I am in the mood for the pancakes as the menu and what I saw on some plates when I was there looked really really good.

All those awards! You can’t be serious. Phantom what did u eat? That plain pancake was so heavy and thick and HEAVY. The plain French toast was just that PLAIN. The orange juice was really good. Waitstaff was so busy and quick service. Nothing about this place will bring me back. Phantom needs to go to Alexander’s in Brockton for pancakes even the plain pancakes there are phenomenal. js

I woke up one day and I was hungry. I was in the area and I pulled up Unilocal to help me find something. The place was alittle busy. It made sense seeing how it was a Sunday afternoon but we got seated pretty fast. I ordered the corn beef and hash with French toast. It was good. I liked the corn beef part. It’s was cooked with some burnt crunch on it. I like that. The French toast was ok. Overall this place is like many other diners I been to. Nothing over the top here. Nice local spot to get some brunch grub and share a convo.

I tried out this breakfast place because of the reviews i read on Unilocal and it was pretty damn good!!! This breakfast place is known for their massive pancakes. They are not just regular pancakes they have so many options such as oreo pancakes, tiramisu and much much more! I came here with my friend and she also loved it and is gonna go back. I ordered a chocolate oreo pancake and broccoli and cheese plate and they were the bomb! I practically ate my fingers off. It is a really good family breakfast place, nice warming atmosphere, the staff is very nice, they food is really really delicious, and great prices. The only thing is that parking is a bit of a problem.

Came here on a whim Saturday morning because we decided to stop by the first breakfast diner we see on our phone while Googling. The first thing I noticed when we drove to this location was it was on the corner of the semi-busy main street with lots of cars coming from different directions. Once we found parking(kind of hard to do so when you have 10+ cars waiting behind you.), we headed into the diner. The place is pretty small and there was already a lot of people there eating and waiting for a table. We placed our name on the waitlist and waited with the rest of them. It was extremely crowded and there was barely any place to stand. When we were finally called, the hostess sat us at the counter top and we didn’t want to wait for an actual table. Plus is easier to talk when we sit next to each other. I ordered the two egg combo and my partner got the Greek omelette and the portions was decent. I liked the homefries that they gave and although it took a while for us to sit down, when we ordered our food it didn’t take that long for it to come out. Overall except for the wait time, the food and service was good and the waitress we had was really nice and helpful. Just an fyi this place is cash only and they have an atm at the diner. Luckily we took out some cash while we were still waiting to be seated so once we got the bill we can already pay on the spot. I would come back here if we are in the area again although we should come at a later time so we wouldn’t have to wait that long for a table again.

Came here with a friend who heard good things and also wanted to try this place out. First time for both of us. We came almost 1.5−2 hours prior to closing, so we were only one of the few tables. I already forget what she had but we did share huge pancakes(which we both had to take with us due to pancakes size being bigger than our heads) lol I love eggs benedict but I was not a fan of the(cheesy?) sauce on top. Service was limited, even though we were only one of the few tables. Overall great price for food quantity but food is just ok.

Raspberry Coffee Cake pancakes are the best I’ve had in a while. 5 stars for pancakes. The service is still fast and friendly. Coffee is still mediocre

I came here twice already! The food is great and great for the price. I love the Irish Eggs Benedict with delicious home fries. I could just eat home fries all day! They have an amazing variety of special pancakes. I adore the raspberry cheesecake and white chocolate macadamia pancakes. I didn’t really like the tiramisu, boston crème or the coffee cake pancakes though. The ultimate french toast was good. Cash only.

I feel awful giving this place a bad review. They have such cool pancake and French toast options. I wanted this place to be great. But I couldn’t enjoy my food. I ordered a half order each of the banana bread French toast and the caramel pecan pancakes to go. There is street parking available. But because of the snow and the small amount of space available, there wasn’t much parking. I snuck into the lot behind the restaurant, which I was sure was permit parking, and ran to get my order. THISESTABLISHMENTISCASHONLY – something I wish I checked before I’d arrived, but they have an ATM there. The waitress was really nice, and I paid $ 7ish for my order. Both entrees looked really good. The French toast and pancake orders were pretty big and thick. But that was the issue. They were TOOTHICK! Almost chalky, so it was hard for me to swallow. The banana bread French T was literally slices of banana bread, fried. I should have guessed that before ordering, but without syrup it was too thick. With syrup, it was too sweet. The caramel pecan pancake looked absolutely beautiful. But it too was too thick. I was so hungry before I got my food, and eating it became too much of a workout. I feel like this place has awesome food, so I will definitely try again this weekend! I would like to give an updated review of 5 stars!

I really wanted this place to be great! We live close and really wanted to find a decent breakfast we can go to every weekend.(It’s our thing after working 6 days a week) This will not be our place… There was a wait but it wasn’t bad, even with 2 kids. Our table was directly outside the kitchen so it was a thousand degrees. No waitress made contact with our table for over 5 mins. The waitress that we finally got was incredible nice. She saw that we had two kids and quickly got our orders in for us. Great. Food looked good for the most part. The kids pancake is such a waste! Much too big for a child. My son could barely eat half. Also the batter is weird and while the outside was done, it separated from the inside part. Tasted ok. I got the broccoli and cheese scramble which was great. The homefries were kinda greasy. My son and I shared them anyways. My husband had the homemade hash breakfast. Also super greasy! And ordered a side of sausage(which went back because they were undercooked and mushy). We headed home and the whole family felt ill. I think it was the oily/greasy homefries and hash. Also, cash only? In 2016? Come on. And you don’t find out until you pay! Not cool. Really wanted to love this place but it fell flat.

I was so excited to finally try the pancakes that everyone raves about but when i finally tried them i was very disappointed. I am new to the area and I often come on Unilocal when ever I want to find somewhere new to eat. This morning I was in the mood for some pancakes and decided to call in and place a take out order. When I called the girl that answered the phone asked me to hold for 5 minutes, I told her I would call back. When I called back I was asked to hold for a few minutes while she takes a customers order. This time I waited. When I was asking her about the combo options she responded to me like I should already know the information and then told me that they are very busy.(basically telling me that she doesn’t have time to be on the phone with me). So as I continue to order I hear he say«ooo my God»(like she was annoyed that she was still on the phone) Now I finally got my pancakes and the were huge. They are so thick that I thought to my self how do they cook these with out them burning. The answer is they don’t. The pancakes were under cooked. It taste like I was eating pancake batter with syrup. I ate a few bites of one of the pancakes and about 10 minutes later my stomach started hurting. I don’t plan on coming back here again

What will two women with 3 girls between them do on a gloomy Sunday morning before hitting the mall for some shopping therapy? Have brunch, of course. We didn’t feel like eating at the usual chains in South Shore mall. Instead, I turned to my trusted Unilocalers’ recommendations and found our way to this jam packed diner. There was a long line but the wait wasn’t bad. 5 mins top and we were seated at the table right next to the door, which we didn’t mind at all. The girls thought it was cool we got the high stool seats. Onto the food. This place should be renamed House of the Big Pancakes. Each one is the size of a medium Domino’s pizza, just to give you an idea. The girls split 1 Oreo pancake, and 2 Strawberry pancakes. We got two side order of home fries for them to share. They loved the pancakes. It’s a rarity to watch them eat in silence. A ton of sugar in their pancake breakfast but we don’t give them pancakes that often, so it’s an alright treat for them. You can order a single, a short stack(2), or tall(3). My girlfriend got the egg Benedict with Canadian bacon on English muffins, diner-style hollandaise with home fries, which she said was good. Eggs cooked perfect, the sauce is a little un-Hollandaise but still good. I had the super deluxe home fries, light on the cheese. It was good because I found a lot of charred potatoes in my plate. By that I mean solid black crispy charred home fries on one side mixed in with some mushy potatoes. Lucky for them, I like my home fries crispy and didn’t mind the charred at all. All the food with 1OJ and 2 coffees came to $ 30.42 before tips. Not bad at all and the portion is huge. If we are in the area again, will definitely return to this restaurant for breakfast. CASH only, so be sure you bring some greens.

Breakfast/Lunch Diner — Table and counter seating — Great Service This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is real good and they are known for their pancakes. This was my first time there and decided to have breakfast based upon other Unilocal reviews FOOD: Good price for the food you get. Surprisingly, they had quite a few dishes that were homemade.(I had corned beef hash) Good quality/quantity for the price you pay. Eggs came out great, everything warm straight out of the kitchen. SERVICE: Service was fantastic. Seemed that the woman taking care of me really cared about the establishment and was very attentive. Always there to fill my coffee and cater to my picky special breakfast order. A+ ATMOSPHERE: Typical dinner establishment,(see Photos) tables and chairs seemed cleaned and somewhat new. The board with the breakfast and pancakes was appealing. I sat at the counter, which had stools that were not attached to the floor. They had foot rest. Counter was clean and condiment, salt, pepper ketchup, etc were all clean and void of the dried up crust condiment residue that you may find in other diners. They had a couple newspapers that sit there for the customers to read, I gave mine up as a regular came walking in. BATHROOMS: Didn’t use one, which is funny as I had about 5 cups of coffee. But I imagine that it was clean like the other parts of the restaurant. SUMMARY: Good local diner with great food, service and at a great price. I would definitely go back again!

Good affordable breakfast/brunch place. Serving sizes are large. They have a bunch of specialty pancakes that are huge. My favorites would be the Ultimate French Toast and corned beef. Portions are very filling so I suggest sharing the pancakes. If you come here during the weekend there can be a bit of a wait as this is a popular spot. Tip: Cash Only

First and foremost, THISPLACEISCASHONLYALTHOUGHITSNEVERMENTIONED. I ordered the bland and semi warm French toast(2 pieces) with a side of bacon(3 pieces). It was a table of one(me only) and for God knows why, it took 15 – 20 mins for me to receive a cold dish. The French toast had no taste or flavor to it and when the host finally reached over my head to serve it to me(I’m guessing it was just sitting over my head on the ledge?) it was cold. She asked if I wanted butter for it to which I replied yes, while I waited five additional minutes for her to take other orders, deliver food and take payments. When she noticed I was just watching her she asked, «you need something Hun? I replied, «yes, butter» she immediately grabbed the basket and placed it on the table. I proceeded to eat the food because I didn’t feel like waiting another 30 mins for another dish and the waiter never came back to ask how anything was. I pulled out my card and waited another five mins to be told they were cash only and a atm was over by the door. After chalking up a $ 2 plus whatever my bank will charge(as the nearest atm was 85+ miles away) I waited another five minutes for her to pick up the payment. She came back with my change and I left without leaving a tip– something I haven’t done in YEARS.

Tried to go a few weeks back on a Sunday and it was so packed I had to bail. Came on Monday recently though and it was fantastic! Not too busy but not too quiet. Got a little carried away with the specialty pancakes and tried cookie dough, oreo and reeses. Cookie dough and reese were the best. They are big pancakes though, I had to take a bunch home(which is fine by me, I love leftovers). Service was friendly. Definitely a fun place when your sweet tooth is calling. I didn’t try anything savory just yet.

Kristin’s Breakfast & Lunch is located on Washington Street where street parking is free if you can find it. They also have a narrow parking lot out back, which was full when I drove through. We must have come at a good time as it was but a short wait in their condensed waiting corner before we were seated. Service here is server specific, so remember which one is yours! Ours asked if we wanted a short stack or a full stack as we placed our order. Tall was 3 pancakes while short was 2. You could also order by the pancake, which I would seriously consider for a future visit, since neither of us finished our half of the short stack. The pancake was huge and fluffy, topped with a tasty cinnamon crumble, but rather plain otherwise For the coffee cake pancake, it was $ 5.99 short/$ 6.99 tall. The banana bread french toast was $ 6.99, which tasted good, but was all soft and lacked texture. I would definitely try something else on a future visit. Despite the take home boxes we both had left, I was glad that we also decided to share a side of their corned beef hash $ 3.49, as it added something savory to our meal. It was great as it was tasty, meaty, and not overly salty, though the portion seemed a bit small in contrast to their oversized pancakes.
