Great food… Grass fed beef patty cooked to perfection! Absolutely will be visiting this eatery again!

The service was friendly, but it took a LONG time to get the food! Luckily it did taste good after it finally arrived.

Great food, really good service! We will definitely be back! They also offer 2 free kids meals on Monday per 1 paying adult! That’s the best ‘Kids Eat Free Deal’ I’ve seen anywhere!

My team was in the area for two days, and Prairie Bay was such a great lunch spot that we ordered from them two days in a row. Everyone loved it, and the service was excellent. Jen and Kristy were very helpful, and took all 15 – 18 orders over the phone, kept up with our crazy schedule changes, labeled all our lunches, and allowed me to pay over the phone. Usually ordering lunch when we’re traveling is a huge stress, so I can’t express how grateful I am for the excellent food and service, thank you!

We came here for the early bird bogo entrée dinner… we had the Taragon Mushroom Fusilli and the Carmalized Chicken… fantastic presentation and preparation… This was an incredible value with a top notch waitress… Meyghan was extremely pleasant… if you’re lucky you will be seated in her station.

The best food in Brainerd. It’ll take a while for the service so plan accordingly so you can enjoy it.

Been here 4 times now and enjoyed it each time. Boyfriend and I always get different stuff so we can try each other’s and almost everything has been excellent. This area has a ton of very mediocre restaurants, and as others have said, I think this one is about as good as it gets around here. They actually have interesting and unusual flavor combinations. I’ve had a few I wasn’t crazy about but I give them a lot of credit for trying. Service has always been great. The one downside is that it’s pricey. Last time we went there, 2 drinks each, an appetizer, and 2 entrees set us back $ 81– nearly $ 100 after the tip. So just be ready for a hefty tab.

The emphasis on using fresh, local food definitely pays off. It is someplace I have eaten at many times and have not been disappointed.

This is the best stop for fairly healthy restaurant dining in the central lakes area. Salads are top shelf and attention is given to special diets. The Happy Hour in the bar area is worthwhile for a light bite and a couple of brews. A repeat visit is always planned.

One of my biggest gripes about traveling to Brainerd has been the lack of fine done that is non-chain. PROBLEMSOLVED!!! The food was very good, the wait staff helpful and efficient. The timing of the meal was perfect. I now have a nice restaurant to look forward to visiting and exploring their many menu options. Also discovered. they have their own herb garden!

Interesting items on the menu. Things like Thai pizza or clam chowder pizza. But also duck confit sandwich and a number of others. Trying the Cuban pulled pork and fries. It was very good. S’mores cheesecake was interesting but I did not care for the whole, small, uncooked marshmallows. I know that is hard to say when you order a S’more anything. Server was Jenna. She was very nice and all of the others seemed very good also Two sandwiches one mixed drink and one cheesecake for $ 41. Not bad

I wasn’t a big fan. The pasta I had was just ok. I didn’t think it was worth the price.

My husband and I ate here for lunch and really enjoyed it! I ordered the pear and blue cheese wedge salad, which turned out to be one of the BEST salads I have had in a long time! I also ordered the chicken fajita soup, which was good, but the lobster bisque that my husband ordered was AMAZING! So glad we stopped here during our stay in Brainerd :)

For a hidden, local catering spot, it was worth stumbling upon. Staff was friendly and talkative. Food was delicious. Drinks were cheap! I mean I got 2 Jameson’s, for basically $ 11. Most places I travel to charge just that one for a real skinny neat. I have posted a pic of my app. Had a burger for my meal and even the salad was great down to the last bite.

Always fantastic food and service. Been there a dozen or more times. Their byob comes with more toppings than you will ever be able to eat. Their lobster bisque is the best I have ever had.

So I’ve been to this place once before because of the fact they have the local Jack Pine Brewery on tap. It was past lunch rush and I was expecting that level of service that you usually get but nope. Rachel took care of me no problem. I went with her recommended lunch special of a smoked turkey sandwich with mixed greens, provolone cheese, some thousand island dressing on 9 grain. That light smoke with the greens and cheese was awesome. It also came with a red pepper purée soup and a mixed green salad. Awesome. I literally drank the last of my cup cause the spoon wasn’t working for me. F’n spoon. Your dead to me. Happy hour(4 – 6 everyday, closed Sunday’s) gets you their 2 – 1 pizza deal and the selection of what they offer looks great. Definitely will be back.

Wonderful fast service in a relaxed up north classy setting. If only the food lived up to this. I ordered the French toast turkey sandwich with a dipping sauce. Half of my sandwich was soggy but the berry sauce was good. Both my husband and I thought the fries were not done well enough. They were steak fries… extremely doughy. I didn’t know whether to mash them up with sour cream and bacon bits or to dip them in ketchup.

I have been coming to the Baxter/Brainerd area on regular basis since I was very young. I have eaten at almost every restaurant in the area and I have to say that I loved this place. The menu is the most creative I have seen and the food was excellent. This is not your typical meat and potato place. I ordered the pork tenderloin with beer cheese risotto and my husband ordered the brisket with yams. Both came with brussels sprouts as well. Both meals were delicious! The brussels sprouts were cooked slightly more than I like but they were still very good. We also ordered the dessert sampler. I was expecting a few bites of each dessert but it was basically a full portion of five of their desserts. All of them amazing. We had to take a few home. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was quick, helpful and friendly. I love that this restaurant chooses to source food locally and to make things from scratch. I’m excited to come back in the summer since they have their own gardens on site. They also have a full gluten free menu including gf pastas. Overall a great dining experience. We will be returning often!

Prarie Bay is a great place. I love the environment and service. I would love to give it a 5 star but my burger just didn’t have that much taste to it. But I’ll go back for sure.

The three dollar signs are misleading, the prices could not be more reasonable, especially for the quality of the food we received. My boyfriend and I decided to order a salad and sandwich to split, which was the perfect amount of food. We ordered the wedge salad and the Cuban pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent! The salad’s bleu cheese dressing was delicious, and the bacon added a subtle but wonderful smokiness. The pulled pork was exactly what it should be, juicy and full of flavor. The juice was literally dripping from our hands as we ate it! The French fries were the chunky baked/wedge potato-y kind, which we like. This place is great, the atmosphere is really clean and relaxing, and the service is top-notch. The menu is very colorful, which was refreshing since we usually stop in at Buffalo Wild Wings(whose service sucks btw). All-in-all we would definitely stop in again, just to try some of the other interesting menu items– they have tons of flatbread pizzas to chose from. The only reason they didn’t get the fifth star, is because I think they may be experiencing a slight identity crisis. The décor is «nice» but bordering on random, and you’re left a little confused as to whether this place is «fancy» or just pretending to be. They don’t put ketchup bottles on the table which is super frustrating for ketchup-lovers like myself… Grrr. Can’t complain about anything else though!
