I received service almost immediately this morning. I needed a pedicure. The pedicure(painless and professional) relaxing music and massage chair were all wonderful. The nail salon is tastefully decorated. Overall, my experience was great and I would recommend this salon. I love my sparkly purple toenails!

Nicely decorated and relaxing atmosphere with great service and quality work. Very clean and well organized interior. Their staffs were super nice and knowledgeable. They cleaned up every tools that were used for previous customers and it made me feel very safe. Their price lists were reasonable compared to nail salon back in my hometown. I couldn’t ask for anything more! Just loved them!

I’ve been a customer here for a while but after today, I’m done. My nails are short(I’m a biter, ugh!) — and I’m trying to grow them out. They suggested SNS for me(normally I do regular manicure or Shellac). Well they were simply trying to upsell me and I tried SNS. Later after getting the color all over my fingers, I pointed this out to them and they said«well your nails are too short for SNS.» I said I didn’t even ask for SNS, and I walked in wanting a regular manicure, but that I did it because they suggested it would be good for my nails. I walked out with color all over my fingers, which you can kind of see in the photo, but it doesn’t show up that well in the picture. I’m frustrated — especially considering it’s a $ 35 manicure, and it took 2 hours. The owners callous and sloppy attitude is not professional or kind. I won’t be back.

Overprice & did a terrible job! Nails on crooked & was not happy when ask to fix. He had a special out on the board & I guess since I was from out of town he charged me $ 85. Found someone else better! He calls himself John & owner.

Can’t bring myself to go back. Nobody in the place seemed the least interested in retaining a potential new customer. When I arrived a woman at one of the stations(nobody was at the front desk) called out, «do you have an appointment?» and just gestured to an open chair. The man who did my pedicure didn’t introduce himself until ½ way through the pedi, and then 10 minutes later introduced himself again. I tried to make chit-chat while he, so unfocused that when applying exfoliant to my legs without moving his hands from spot to spot, almost rubbed them raw, sniffled and snorted. I could tell he wasn’t feeling well. Finally I asked, sympathetically I thought, if he had allergies(hoping he didn’t have a cold to spread to me). He said, «Yes, I’m allergic to work.» Then what was I supposed to say, «Sorry I’m here and causing you to work and suffer an allergic reaction»? Perhaps it’s a cultural thing but I certainly wasn’t meaning to be pushy or obnoxious. I had asked him at the beginning what kinds of long-lasting polishes they had; he said only for hands, not for toes. OK, what do I know. When it came time for paint, I showed him a couple of long-ago opened bottles of my own polish because I liked the color, and expected his help picking out something similar. He opened one, dipped the brush a couple of times, and said, «this is fine, we’ll use this» and proceeded to use it. OK, so no cost to the shop for my old slightly dried-out polish. When the toes were done(basically satisfactorily though I did have to wipe off dabs of polish that was«outside the lines» myself) and I was ready to check out, I noticed a sign at the desk promoting shellac I think it was, for hands and feet. I asked him about it, given that he told me it wasn’t available for pedicures, and he said, «Oh, you want that? It’s $ 10 more» implying that he judged me not likely to be willing to bust out another $ 10 for a fancier job, which is so not my vibe. We never connected, no eye contact, he seemed to be talking past me, looking past me, and uncomfortable being there, which made me very uncomfortable too.

Nice aesthetic, nice staff, great location. First visit my mani/pedi was sloppy. But I’d thought I’d give them a second try. Same results. In my book, two strikes and you’re out. Sorry Star Nails.

What a nice place! Lovely people; reasonable prices; excellent hygiene! They took me almost straightaway for a mani/pedi when I walked in without an appt. Easy to get to as I was pedaling and staying at an RV campground on the opposite end of town. I shopped around by phone and found Star Nails to be one of the few salons with reasonable prices! I’ll go back next time in Bozeman!

Very happy to have finally found the best place to get your nails done in Bozeman! I stopped in for the first time to get a manicure without an appointment and they were able to get me started within minutes even though they already had women seated getting spa pedicures. I originally intended to get a shellac manicure, but was told they had another system call SNS(Salon Nail System) which had no smell, does not require a light treatment and lasts at least 2 – 3 weeks. I figured why not, since shellac never lasts more than a week for me anyways. To sum up my experience with the SNS manicure, WOW! It’s amazing. I am extremely hard on my nails and a regular manicure lasts me 2 days, shellac 4 – 6 days. This SNS lasted 3 weeks, I kid you not! I have been back twice now and am very happy with my nails and the service they offer here.

This is my new joint. There are a couple of reasons why I have switched my loyalty to Star: 1. My nails never chip, never 2. They use excellent products 3. Friendly 4. Student discount(which means I can get a shellac mani and pedi for $ 56) 5. Super clean salon The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is that they still have a small staff as they are growing their business, and sometimes that means wait times are long-ish. Making an appointment helps… sometimes ;)
