Great cocktail place with an inventive menu. Nice ambience and okay service. Definitely a local hot spot.

You guys keep putting out a fantastic product. Season after season I head back, even though there are a bunch of places I haven’t tried yet, because i know I will try another super Tuscan(only after my gfc) and have another mind blowing meal. Keep up the consistent funky fare. I love you all and can’t wait until I’m back in Bozeman again!

Great food, service and ambiance. We had the Seared Octopus and Scallop appetizer. It was great. Also, we had the steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Excellent!

The cocktails here are amazing. I had a salt and pepper martini, and another one with gin, although can’t remember the name. They were both great! Better than most cocktails I’ve had in Los Angeles! The name of this place doesn’t really fit the ambiance inside. «Plonk» sounds like pub where beer pong tournaments would take place regularly, not an upscale wine bar.

From the lighting to the cocktails, Plonk hits all the right spots. I suggest nabbing couch seats in the back so you can have some privacy while still enjoying the festive ambiance from the other patrons. The prices were very reasonable, especially compared to San Francisco. $ 8 for a good glass of Malbec and $ 10 for a quality craft cocktail is almost unheard of!

I love Plonk when picking up a girlfriend from the Airport or if hubby and I are in Bozeman for the day and just want some good light fare and a nice drink. excellent service, cool art, really fresh and local ingredients-organic. I only wish the chairs were a bit more comfy. Oh I do like the high tables.

Excellent wine selection and good service. I had 2 glasses of wine, both were excellent and the bartender was knowledgable about the wines. I nice step up on Main Street.

How special is this place? I’ll tell ya. I had the meat special. My wife had the fish special. We shared a bottle of the wine special. The food was eSPECIALly good. And Melissa, our waitress, was extra special. I wish they had a place this special in our town. If you’re in Bozeman, you should go there if you want a special meal at a special restaurant.

I fell in love with Plonk! I met some friends there around 8pm on a Monday night on the patio. There was a nice ambiance, it was small but, didn’t feel crowded. They have a great dinner and dessert menu, and not to mention a phenomenal selection of specialty cocktails. The drinks were amazing! Fresh and had great flavor, nicely crafted. I had a pink panther, pineapple express and gin and juice. Plonk isn’t cheap, but it’s worth it! I will definitely return.

Living in Houston and planning a wedding in Bozeman is no easy feat. So we took a gamble when we booked our rehearsal dinner at Plonk. AND I AMSOHAPPY we did. Ben was a pleasure to work with; he was very responsive and answered all of of our questions. We booked the wine cellar for the dinner and the food was absolutely amazing and the wine pairings were excellent. All of our guests kept complimenting us on our venue selection based on the food, wine and ambience. Thank you Ben for making the night a success!

Food: 4.5 Service: 4.5 Atmosphere: 5 Cleanliness: 5 This is about as fancy as it gets for Bozeman, Montana. Contemporary design with sweet and stylish wait staff. Large Andy Warhol-esque painting of Audrey Hepburn on the wall, curvy red couches and trendy décor makes it classy, chic and cozy all at once. Our table of three ordered five or six appetizers and we were set! Our waitress even brought out a special sample for us of the local Bison on skewers(from ranch to plate). It was divine! A little on the well-done side, but still packed with flavors pungent, sweet, spicy, salty and tart. The Crab Gâteau appetizer(not to be confused with crab cake) was irresistible as well. So fresh, crab meat and spices cooked and blended to perfection sitting atop large kettle potato chips made in house and golden beets with a decadent citrus based sauce swiveled along the top. I could not get enough! So delicious and light and refreshing! Deliciousness! Yum I recommend coming earlier In the evening. We were seated right away on a Thursday early evening(6:30pm-ish), but as we dined, the tables and couches filled almost to full capacity and the waitresses became hard to find. Overall they all still did a great job working efficiently while catering to all of our table’s specific needs. You can dress up or go completely dressed down in your hiking clothes or Lululemon or whatever way you see fit. From what I gather, this is a casual town, with a casual vibe, and even though Plonk has a coolness about it… You’ll be just as cool whatever you decide. Would I return? Yes! Absolutely! Good stuff! Enjoy.

My latest recipe for the ultimate date night… Ingredients: –1 cool summer evening –1 table on the back porch of Plonk –2 glasses of wine –1 cheese board –1 pretty girl(or Handsome man) Combine all ingredients, kick back, and allow the magic to unfold. On a more serious note, I was just visiting the area and happen to stumble into this gem. Gotta say I really dig this place. Hard to attest to the entirety of their menu, as I stuck to the aforementioned items, but I would definitely recommend.

Wife and I are always pleased when we travel and find wine gems such as Plonk. Great atmosphere for couples and small groups. Ben leads a great staff of professionals and we have never been disappointed. Very good vintages and prices and the kitchen always perfect the dishes we have ordered. Previously orders included: Lamb Tenderloin skewers Montana raised Tenderloin Filet paired with ’07 Colgin, ’09 Hobbs BTK A++ Thanks Ben

Ok. Plonk is nice. I haven’t eaten here in a while, so I can judge that. They have a new chef, so I’m sure the food is better than it was. They have good cocktails, but the tend to be sweeter than my liking. So when I go, I try to stick with beer and wine. However, my friends LOVE the GFC. Plonk is not a good place to take someone you want to talk to, as it can get pretty loud in there. If you want a place that feels upscale w/fancy drinks, this may be the place to go.

If you like chocolate martinis, do yourself a favor and order a Bag of Blow. It’s not on the menu. Best martini I’ve ever had. Wine pours are painfully small for the price, unfortunately. Great atmosphere. Very modern and fun.

This place is very hip, and has great décor. The food, on the other hand, is just good. Not awesome or great — just good. I was here with some colleagues for a lunch, and I ordered the duck confit and a cup of the special soup of the day, which was made with tomatoes, chicken, and cheese. The duck confit looked amazing, but was a bit dry and also tougher than I would have liked. The flavor was decent, and the sage gremolata on the side was quite good. It came with some apple cider braised red cabbage, which tasted ok, and some cubes of braised beets, which I did not care for at all. The beet pieces were a bit too firm, and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The special tomato soup was good, but not particularly memorable. I was definitely underwhelmed by the meal, and I felt that there was a lot more style than substance on my plate. The most disappointing part of my meal was the fact that I found two pieces of sharp plastic in my cabbage. It looked like maybe pieces broken off from a transparent plastic cup. Luckily, I saw them before I bit into them. They were certainly sharp enough to injure someone’s mouth. I understand that these things do happen, but still, I expect a fancy place like Plonk to do a better job of checking their plates before they come to the table. Portion sizes here are extremely small. After we finished our meals, at least half of the party was still hungry. We then ordered some beef skewers and some seared scallops. I didn’t try the scallops, but they did look quite good. The beef skewers were very tasty, but maybe a little too salty. The ginger crème fraîche was great, and went very well with the beef. Again, the portion was very small. Overall, I don’t think the food quality lives up to the fancy atmosphere and associated prices of this establishment. It’s not a terrible place, but I think there are many better options for fancy eats in Bozeman. That being said, I’m a big fan of the classic pin-up tiles adorning the walls of the men’s bathroom.

This is a wine bar, so I had a cocktail… It was my choice to have a cocktail, but they sounded awesome. I had the cucumber infused vodka cilantro one and it was good, creative for sure, but not great. Not sure what was missing actually. The wine selection was good. Expect to pay big city, as in NYC, prices here, which I was surprised by in a smaller town. They have 2 menus. Lunch and dinner. The both looked good but I did not eat here. Tables around me, it was pretty crowded, got food and it looked good. Since plates were cleaned I think it was enjoyed. The tables are very close together, and they seem small for more than two, maybe three people, yet I saw 4 at some. The servers are very peasant here, that’s for sure, but they seem a little distracted, harried, or simply overwhelmed, I’m not sure which. This is a place where people actually wore shirts with collars(guys) and dresses(cute summer ones, but you get the idea) for the ladies. There were no flip flops in the place that I saw, and the visible tattoos were mostly reserved for the staff. In fact, now that I think about it, the clientele were all nicely dressed, one might say well healed, but the staff was a little casual. No biggie, but somewhat striking after the visit. Sit outside in back. That’s where the locals sit(I was told by locals anyway). I’d come back here for sure, but would want to make sure I got a better cocktail for the price.
